To many substitutions! Not same containers as pictured. Not a place I would recommend!

I was ordering flowers for the funeral of the mother of a friend; I know him in California, and he'd gone back to Michigan for the service. The website felt iffy to me so I called to order over the phone, and I found the customer service rep to be very pleasant and helpful. The flowers I ordered were delivered in very good condition, according to my friend, and his father put the little statue from the arrangement out in the backyard next to his St. Francis, which is very nice. I think this business is trustworthy and I would recommend it for someone who is ordering flowers for a funeral. read more

Now, I'm not one for giving one star reviews, but really had no choice in this instance. Last weekend my sister got married and after her first florist went out of business and recommended Ambati, she decided to go with them. Everything was a-okay until the wedding day, when the flowers that were delivered were....BROWN. Seriously? Dying flowers delivered for a wedding? The flowers were also all lopsided because they were delivered lying down. At least that could be hidden in the pictures...but the fact that they were dying and wilted...not so much. We proceeded to call and talk to the woman at the shop before the wedding; she apologized profusely but said she didn't have anything else to give us. When my sister's husband called on Monday and discussed it with the manager/owner, he was called a liar and told that the flowers were delivered in perfect condition. The good news is we have proof in the form of pictures. But either way, that's really wonderful customer service, huh? Nothing like being called a liar to make you want to recommend a business to other people.... Best case scenario is that the photographer can airbrush the flowers so they look nicer in photos. And that the owner has to eat his own words when he sees the untouched photos. read more

I ordered some flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend who works at Stryker, and asked for something that looked a little tropical since she is from Hawaii. The person on the phone was very helpful. Unfortunately they delivered to a different Stryker building across town and she had to go pick them up. I emailed them and told them what happened. The owner replied in a couple of hours and apologized and waived the delivery charge. It all worked out and the flowers were very pretty. read more

My favorite flower shop ever! They did my wedding flowers almost 24 years ago! Did a great job & did purple (lavender opaque) balloons for our tables at our reception & those were gorgeous also!! We did standing balloon bouquets that were purple & they went very well with Ambati's balloons! I would highly recommend to my friends, family, or anyone planning a wedding! They did a great job on our flowers at the chapel as well. I was disappointed when I ordered flowers for my girlfriend and what was intended to be a I love you to a girlfriend looked like a sympathy arranged for a passed loved one. In case you folks in the flower business don't know - there is a big difference. When I saw the delivered arrangement I was actually embarrassed. Not a single rose that I or my girlfriend could identify. There was one flower buried down low in the arrangement that might have been some sort of rose hybrid but it wasn't visible unless you were right on top of it with one side facing you. For close to $100 I'd have sent a dozen roses instead - but oh wait - you stated you didn't have roses in stock. A flower shop without roses in stock - BIG Problem there!!! The online photo specifically stated "features pink roses" and "this pinktastic bouquet of roses and lilies", what arrived was completely absent roses of any sort that I could recognize. In an email response they stated "In this case, pink spray roses were substituted for the large roses so although the roses were smaller they were there. Instead of Asiatic lilies, oriental lilies were used (which are more than double the price). Again I am sorry you were disappointed, but we did fill the order with the best choices available". Apparently they didn't have anything in stock but sold it to me anyway. The one flower we could not recognize that might have been what she referred to as a spray rose but hardly a boquet as advertised and looks nothing like what google shows as spray roses. And to clarify the stated plural use of roses - there was only one If you can't fill an order you either contact the customer first or decline the order but don't deliver something the client didn't order unless your prepared to issue a refund. They declined to discount or take any action. read more

This is your "typical" flower shop. They have plenty of roses, a couple of tulips in the spring time and tons of carnations and daisies. You can put together your own bouquet using the flowers in the big buckets or you can choose something pre-assembled. Their flowers are pretty good but the prices are quite high. read more

Even though the exact same flowers were much more less expensive elsewhere, I ordered through them because they said they could deliver on that day. They didn't, even though I had a confirmed delivery date. I ordered a peace lily online to be sent to a funeral. It asked in the order process if substitutions were okay, to which I checked "no". I was disappointed to see my green plant with absolutely no blossoms next to two other beautiful in full bloom peace lilies from another flower shop. I contacted the owner, who replied that they do their best for the customer and that the plant would eventually bloom. That to me seems like a substitution and I should have been contacted to see if I was okay with a green plant being sent. This shop clearly cuts corners, so I will take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

After our regular florist stopped answering their phone we started using Ambati. The clerks are always very helpful and the flowers are really beautiful. The flowers we sent Mrs. B. on 9-3-2012 lasted 16 full days! Yes, Ambati is a little pricey, but they also have bigger arrangements and more knowledgable staff. read more

I live is Oregon and today is my sister-in-laws birthday. Looking on-line and not being able to pick out flowers in person made me a little nervous but I just decided to go for it. I am so glad I did...The picture she just sent me of the flowers far exceeded my expectations. They are more than beautiful! I would highly recommend Ambati Flowers for all your flower needs. I had a fantastic experience with Ambati Flowers! I chose to use them for my wedding flowers because they seemed genuinely interested in what I wanted and my happiness. I worked with Sharon. She always seemed excited to work on my flowers when I sat down with her. Flowers ordered vs what arrived vastly different and not in a good way. What arrived was not even half the flowers shown from website. Shadey! No stars. Would never recommend & will never order from. Ambati did an amazing job. I am not a huge flower person so when I went in for a bridal consultation I must say they went above and beyond. The florist showed me what each flowers were, what she was thinking, put them together so I had an idea of what it would look like. I could not believe the final products when they delivered it to the church, absolutely amazing!! My order for flowers was by phone although I had seen arrangements on their website. The flowers were ordered for delivery to funeral home. The employee that took the order was helpful, and promised the flowers would meet my expectations. When arriving at the funeral home, the arrangements were a disappointment. The large floral wreath we ordered was not nearly as full as the picture online, the "sister" banner/bow to be included was missing. The second arrangement we ordered, again, was much sparser than the online photo. My immediate call to the florist was referred to "owner", who spoke with me explaining the flower value was definitely in the bouquets. He did apologize for the missing bow and said he would deliver to funeral home at once. That was done. There was no recognition on his part that the arrangements were not as full as photos online. These were not economical arrangement...rather expensive in my eyes..and definitely were not a value. I cannot recommend this florist. read more

I have agree with Marcia S. in the above statement. We were at the same funeral and all the arrangements that were from Ambati's were very sparce and cheap looking and in reality the floral arrangements were very pricey for what you received. Would never use this florist again. read more

My daughter was married this last weekend in Kalamazoo. During our initial search for florist in the area we were impressed with the professionalism and the attention to detail with the owner, Sharon. The wedding took place at Kanley Chapel, which is beautiful but does have a black pad at the end of each pew that the Bride wanted to have covered. No problem as we decided to use chiffon draping (provided by us) and large pew flower arrangements to cover the pads. Sharon had indicated that she would be able to place the draping (for a fee) and to make the pew flower arrangements. Throughout the entire planning process with this florist it was communicated several times (even the day before when we dropped off the draping to the shop) that the #1 priority for the Bride was to be certain that these pads were covered utilizing the draping that was to be hung straight across the pews and taunt vs the swag method of hanging down. We provided several sample photos and drawings of exactly how the draping was to be done to accomplish covering the black pads. Upon arrival to the Chapel two representatives of Ambati Flowers were working on the draping and the pew arrangements. Despite our very specific repeated directions, drawings and sample photos the Bride immediately noted that the draping was not covering the appropriate pews and that the draping was hanging very low via swag method with ALL the black pads in between being attached to the pews being 100% visible. Immediately told the representatives (I believe one was owners husband) that the wrong pews were draped and that the draping was to be straight across the pews and was to be taunt vs the swag. Pointed out the black pads (like they couldn't see them - I think NOT) that were to be covered. The gentleman acted annoyed but proceeded to change the location of the draping to open up the first few pews to have access from aisle. Within in a short time frame I went to see how they were doing and much to my surprise they had disappeared. My husband ran to check to see if their vehicle was still there and it was gone! They did not even attempt to change the draping to have it be straight and taunt to cover the black pads at the end of the pews! My heart sunk and the Bride cried, At this point in time, we didn't even know where the Bridal party flowers were located until we started searching around and we found them all in boxes in the entryway. As the mother of the Bride and the person that she entrusted to follow up on her vision I totally felt like a failure and that I had let her down! I immediately text Sharon, the owner personal cell phone to see if they could come fix - but no response! They leave WITHOUT touching base or telling us where to find other flowers...REALLY! Other than standing over them I couldn't have been more clear on how it was to be done. There was no doubt in my mind Sharon didn't know how it was suppose to be done and No doubt it could not have been done. She actually went to the Chapel to verify it could be done prior to us agreeing to use her services. While the flowers were beautifully done, I DO NOT recommend this florist as a result of Sharon's, the owner Poor Customer Service, Communication and Follow thru on her promises! If she couldn't have done it Right ALL she would have needed to do is just tell us before hand. We would have figured something out vs letting down the Bride on her wedding day! At the end of the day, my Daughter was a beautiful Bride. I have attempted to reach out to them but it is obvious they don't care about reputation since they won't discuss with us, as they already have our money! Ordered two corsages - instead of delivering them to my place of employment-the delivery driver takes them to a construction site next door (they were having ground breaking ceremony) and drops them off at the podium at the site. Who delivers to a construction site-they were not address to that location but to the building next door. What didn't he call Ambati to confirm delivery name/address-my name was on the delivery card, the address was correct-why didn't he leave the flowers at the building address on order information-but a construction site-you got to be kidding me. I called Ambati-but was basically told sorry but the delivery man did what he was told to do-maybe they need to review they delivery procedures. Needless to say the corsages were ruined and I had to go somewhere else to get new corsages made for the prom. Don't use Ambati for delivery of flowers - who knows where they will go????? read more
