There are often queues of children lurking around, eyes wide with pleasure at the vast shelves full of treats that await them! Such treats come at a price. I'm not sure whether I remember penny sweets as correctly being a penny when I was a child (i think some of them had migrated to two pence by then!) but it is a tad expensive. Please increase the extremely small size of your samosas and make them bigger they are not worth our money. Also please increase the amount of healthy vegetables that you put into the samosas such as green peas, carrots and sweet corn they are all filled with mashed potatoes tasteless and terrible to eat they are not vegetable samosas they are aloo samosas only. They have also ruined the recipe of their ladoos recently too. They are extremely orange in colour and terrible and difficult to eat and swallow and stick badly to your teeth and are all filled with unhealthy nuts. There are dozens of individual choices, but because I had no clue, opted for a pre-selected variety pack, which is available in different sizes and prices. The prices might seem a little high, but once you start eating them, you realize that each is an individually designed little present. In fact, I had several women making eyes at me on the tube but then I realized it was the chocolate they were admiring. If you're a chocoholic, this is a must-visit stop on your "bar" crawl.

Sugacane is actually part of a chain but this is their first store in London. The bright colours are clearly aimed at the younger market though they do carry a lot of traditional sweets too, which will bring back nostalic memories for the older clientele. There are jars of these traditional sweets on both walls with softer sweets like licorice laces below them. The centre of the store has a pick and mix section with wide choice. At the front of the store, there's a counter with more expensive items like hand made fudge and chocolates. There's also Cornish ice cream and for me, the piece de resistance - milkshakes. They will in fact make you a milkshake with any combinations of chocolate bar and ice cream that you want but they have a few suggestions up on the wall. I was very pleased with my milkshake, which contained maltesers and chocolate ice cream. Just need to do a little extra exercise in the next few days!

Jamaican cashews, honey-dipped, mexican, salted, unsalted...ask the stall workers for a taste and they're usually really nice about it. Two of my favourites are the plantains (not coated in a anything but a very thin sweet layer) and the yoghurt coated cranberries (surprisingly delicious), almost all choices are £1.98 per 100g and get your loyalty card because you will need it!
