I went with their online go at your own pace lessons and 10 hours in person driving. The online portions is nice but there are a lot of flaws with the system one being if you were to go back by accident after completing something you would have to wait/do it all over again which can get annoying. Also when you finish the online portion do not forget to do the review at the end as that is what completes the online portion and allows you to move into the in person driving lessons. Online Learning portion 6/10 nice to go at your own pace. For the driving portion I had 10 hours with my driver though it did take another 3 weeks until I had my lessons with my instructor. The Instructor I had was Mujahid he is really nice and knows what he is doing, I heard from friends that a lot of the time the Instructor books classes back to back which means a student would drive to your house and you would drive them back to theirs, well Mujahid does not do that which was great because it feels awkward with a random stranger in the back while you are trying to learn. Driving portion is overall 10/10 with Mujahid. After that I took the test though I did not past the first time it was just bad luck with the evaluator at the DriveTest center. Second time I past right away at a different location. Props to Mujahid he knows what he is talking about. read more

This is the worst driving school. DO NOT trust the reviews. My son has been tyring to get in car lessons for the past 3 weeks now. The first instructor showed up an hour before the actual schedule and thankfully my son was home at the time to complete the lesson. Then the instructor cancelled on my son the next time and went radio silent when my son tried to get his lesson scheduled. I called to get another instructor and the person on the phone said we will get him another one. Guess what? SAME THING with this instructor. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS SCHOOL. I am willing to make adjustments to this review if we actually get serviced and get the driving lessons done. We paid almost $1000.00 and not getting serviced. That's not acceptable. read more

Aleem usmani is very good at teaching, I have learned so much things. Very recommended.

Would def recommend this place. My instructor, Peter is an excellent instructor. Makes good jokes in class (even as a driving instructor and gives a lot of encouragement!!) would definitely recommend him as an instructor if you get the chance to choose him :D read more

This review is LONG overdue - I always kept it in the back of my head and never made a big deal about it but everyone in my life keeps telling me I should spread the word and warn others.. so here it is: 1) Yes, regarding my last review in 2016, the G2 classes are totally fine. Peter's a nice guy and teaches the in-class portion well. 2) DO. NOT. TAKE. YOUR. ON-ROAD. CLASSES. WITH. ALEEM. This instructor named "Aleem", who I hope no longer works there, was a terrible terrible terrible instructor. He was the type of guy to talk loudly on the phone in Tamil for 40 out of 60 minutes of your classes, yell at home owners who came out and asked him to stop having his students parallel park by their cars, and completely disregard your learning needs as a student. He was negligent and really could not give a **** about how prepared you are for the exam before telling you to take it. Honestly, he had no patience, was very demeaning, and overall just not a nice instructor. Now that I have my full G license and have taken classes with other instructors, it's a real eye-opener just how bad he was at his job. You've been warned. read more

Long overdue review, but most of my issues stem from Peter & his in-class lessons. Like someone mentioned in another review, his humour turns dark & inappropriate very quickly. Another student in my class was also German & proudly had photos on his phone of his grandfather with Hitler.. to which Peter was completely in awe of & revered over. He proudly took the phone and even mirrored the screen so the whole class could see. Mind you, we're (mainly) all kids who just want to pass a class, so nobody was outspoken against this. Looking back at this, I cannot believe this guy is still qualified to teach people. The driving portions were okay-- I had Aleem and he would get quite annoyed/blow up my phone if I wasn't immediately responsive. Overall, I would support elsewhere. read more

We used AMB 3 yrs ago for my first son's driving lessons. Our experience was great. The instructor Dave was amazing. He was professional, reliable and caring towards his students. I signed up my second son last year with AMB based on our first experience . After the registration, I found out Dave no longer works there. AMB assigned one instructor to us that never showed up. After contacting AMB office , they assigned second Instrutor by name Tariq. He gave us the run around for 3 weeks and finally booked us for today at 10 am. The instructor never showed up. I contacted the office , they keep apologizing but not doing anything. We had a 2:30 pm appointment today which got cancelled 10 mins before the lesson. I am trying to contact the office , no one is picking up. Unprofessional, unreliable and terrible customer service. read more

I would rate this driving school 0 stars if i could. the driving instructor who goes by the name of TIA was the absolute rudest most disgusting human i have ever had interaction with. why teach in a driving school if you're going to have a horrible attitude towards people? find a new job! My niece had her last driving class yesterday and Tia was having issues reading directions to the house. Instead of asking nicely over the phone for further instructions she was rude and said 'i don't know why you have my driving around in these rural areas, you need to send me the right address' We were in complete shock with her response and had nothing left to say. Instead we cancelled the class with her. That is no way to talk to a customer, as the owner of this establishment. Overall, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE read more

My in class instructor (Peter) was very entertaining, definitely got me engaged and was very helpful. The 4 days flew by quickly. The location was also very convenient. My in car instructor (Aleem) was apps extremely helpful, he told me all about what to expect on the test, and how to act in the car. He was very trusting and would only intervene if there was something wrong and he would advise me about what to do next time. He was very good at teaching me how to park. read more

Buyer beware -- I took 5 in-car lessons with this school. The driving instructor was always rude and charged me extra for missing a class, and didn't issue a receipt (My son was sick so there was no way I could physically attend the class on the original scheduled date. No compassion whatsoever). Half the time I was in the car, the instructor was shuffling papers and barely was paying attention to the road. I need to take more lessons so I'm going with another instructor from a school in Toronto, even though we are based in Markham. What a horrible experience. read more

This will probably be quite a long review, but I really want to get this out there. AMB has the illusion of being an amazing driving school, but I honestly came away realizing that it was not good preparation at all. In Class: the classroom is set up in rows, where you sit on chairs that have attached mini desks. It got very uncomfortable after an hour or so sitting on them with no legroom. The instructor, Peter, is humorous and he tries to make the dull content interesting. HOWEVER, his humour is fairly dark at times. Many people in my class looked a bit uncomfortable. He cracked jokes about women, politics, and even Nazis (he's German and consistently references WW2). The PowerPoints are not the best, but they're the standard and they tell you what you need to know. **At the end of the in-class sessions, they will give you a $2 Tim Hortons gift card in exchange for you leaving a positive review on Yelp or Google.** In-car: My instructor was late on the first lesson and consistently showed up 5-10 minutes late almost every class afterwards. Almost every class, we would drive to Tim Hortons. He bought me drinks, and while that is extremely kind, I was paying for driving lessons and not to wait in a Tim's parking lot. In addition, I drove him to multiple places where he had errands to run, which was a complete waste of the lesson time that I was paying for. He also wasn't very clear on strategies for manoeuvres like parking. I ended up using my own car on my own time and figuring out the techniques through trial and error. I also felt that his car wasn't the safest. When I drove on the highway, I attempted to accelerate but his car accelerated extremely slowly. I was stuck at about 70km/hr on the HIGHWAY until I literally stomped on the pedal. In the end I did pass my driving test, but I felt like I didn't get what I paid for. I spent a LOT of time figuring things like parking and 3 point turns out on my own through trial and error, along with YouTube videos. While you obviously need to practice on your own time to prepare for the driving test, I was teaching myself things that my instructor should have taught. read more

I sign up for my driving lessons in Scarborough and my driver was Dayan. Not only was Dayan a great driving instructor who taught me to drive, he was also very kind and respectful. He's also very funny which made the 10 hours very pleasant. He's teaching style got me over my minor fear of driving within the first hour. I would recommend anyone who signs up for AMB in Scarborough ask for Dayan to be their instructor. read more

Very good class good time spent over four days. Aziz was a helpful instructor in class

I took 5 in car lessons with AMB. The driving instructor--Zeb--was extremely kind and made learning how to drive fun and enjoyable. You can tell he truly wanted me to succeed and made sure I was completely prepared to take my G2. If anyone is uncomfortable/unsure of their driving capabilities, I highly suggest to reach out to AMB markham and ask for Zeb! read more

My driving instructor Jack taught me a lot about techniques during driving and I had a good time throughout my 10 hours for my G2. Glad I had a good instructor who was fun and helpful. read more

Honestly I don't recommend this school at all better off with All-Star. The classroom portion is okay the slides are poor quality. My issue was mostly with instructor -who. Taught me nothing but to drive straight and make left & right turn for 10 lessons. Now I have to pay him extra until he thinks Im ready for a test. It was so frustrating because he didn't have any time slot open. Not that I have to pay he's all of a sudden available. read more

In-class lessons occur in a big enough room with around 30 students. The instructor, Peter Mellor, is quite interesting and manages to cover all the content necessary. How well you retain the info is a different matter as the videos shown were quite useless and often there would be discussions in-class that would be off topic. However, everyone will pass this section as quizzes and tests are very simple if you pay attention. In-car lessons are a completely different story. If you are taking G2 lessons in the summer, I noticed that it's particularly difficult to book lessons at all regardless of convenient times you may have liked. All the instructors I noticed are Indian but it shouldn't be too hard to listen to them as they speak simple words on the road e.g. turn left, stop. However, my instructor was definitely not organized as he would often be late for the lessons (5-10 mins). On the road, his focus was more on his phone than on my driving and his attitude seemed quite rude whenever I made a mistake, hardly any constructive criticism whatsoever but the 10hr in car lessons are mandatory so just make the most of it and find a better instructor somewhere else. read more

Just finished the in class portion of AMB. Peter is a great teacher, very funny! Would recommend.

AMB Driving school is terrible. Don't be deceived by the fake 5-star google reviews. They reward students who review them 5-stars with gift cards. The name of my instructor was Salim. He would be so arrogant while teaching and has terrible patience. I am not a pro at driving, and so I am learning. He will always be very discouraging. I could never even gather the confidence of giving a test while learning from him. He will not even teach you for the time you pay for. He will always be 5-10 minutes late and drop you back early. Never go to this school if you want to pass your driving test. read more

Really enjoyed the course learned things I didn't think I needed to know. The class room was small, crowded and hot. I had Peter as my instructor and he was very nice and funny. read more

Booked 2 one-hour-long G2 Exit lessons for over $100 to prepare for my G in-car test - first lesson, the instructor didn't show up and didn't attempt to cancel beforehand or give an explanation, then blamed me for him not coming. After rescheduling, during the lessons gave me multiple incorrect pieces of advice which I followed on my G test, and those ended up being the only incorrect marks on the examiner's sheet. On the second lesson (which he showed up late for), he had me drive for 20 minutes on a straight road (9th line) to the next town (Stoufville). I think this road had maybe one stop light and has very little traffic mid-afternoon. Once there he had me go into a neighbourhood to practice parallel parking, which I said was my biggest challenge. He controlled the breaks and barely gave me any instruction or chance to try it on my own, and only parked 3 times total before leaving. I ended up having to practice for hours on my own to teach myself. On the way back to Markham, along rural Reesor road he FELL. ASLEEP. and we he woke up, proceeded to tell me to "go slow going down a hill and faster going up", then fell asleep once more, SNORING. When I had to wake him up by asking where to go next, he then had me go to a Walmart parking lot to practice parking in a parking space, which isn't even on the G test and which I told him I didn't need help on, and again he controlled the breaks and gave me no chance to try, on only 2 times. In total, in the hour-long lesson which cost $50, he had me drive in a straight line for 40 minutes along rural roads, where he took approximately a 15 minute long nap, and spent less than 20 minutes 'teaching' me 3 parallel parks and 2 parking lot parks, before dropping me off at home before the hour was even up. read more

There is only one classroom, and it is not particularly large - when it's there's a full class it gets quite uncomfortable, especially with the hard cramped seats and no legroom. There is no heating control so it can get unbearably hot, which worsens it. BUT, all this will not be of any concern when you meet the instructor. His name is Peter and he's got a British accent. He is incredibly entertaining and adds many interesting stories to his lessons. He has an intelligent, quirky sense of humor - his jokes are hilarious if you understand them. Though he may go off topic sometimes, he gets right back on track after telling his tale and teaches you the lessons you need to help you become a better driver. I highly recommend joining AMB at the Markham location if Peter is teaching the course, otherwise, all you've got is a tiny room with cramped seating. Peter brings life to the classroom and smiles to his students faces. read more
