For this place being in Milan, they are very good. There aren't many Japanese restaurants around…read morehere and even if there are, the quality is never good.
This location surprised me.
First of all, the handrolls are massive. For a small handroll, you get something that you will need 2 hands to hold so that the stuff inside doesn't fall out. 2 small handrolls is enough for one person and they give a lot of fish, not too much rice. Really great portion.
Fish are fresh and flavors are there, the only thing missing, wasabi. Key key ingredient in sushi!
On each table, they give you toasted black and white sesame seeds, soy sauce and ponzu sauce.
Flat wooden chopsticks .. very strange.
Now if this place was in LA, I wouldn't become a regular but if I lived in Milan, I can see myself coming here regularly for some sushi fix.
They got juice on the menu but the portions are tiny for what you pay for, unlike their handrolls. Regular sushi rolls are a good portion as well but I think there's too much mayo (or whichever sauce the chef puts that's similar to mayo) but otherwise has potential.
Tuna and salmon handrolls were good and so was the ceviche. I would recommend getting a handroll as your first order then order more when needed.
Location is great, right by the small and only canal in Milan.
No Asians in sight that works here, funny, given how the quality is.
