When I found Write By Night, I was desperate for some help with what I knew to be a worthy memoir…read more No one understood what I was attempting to do. I was not writing a book of poems. I was writing a memoir in verse because I cannot totally describe every detail of my surroundings from birth to 14 years in an abusive religious cult. Telling a story in verse allows me to tell the truth of it. I did not want to create filler lines to present a book written in traditional prose. I submitted 300 pages of an unfinished manuscript to Write By Night in June of 2019. They paired me up with an award winning poet, John Sibley Williams and over the next year an a half, while working full time as a Registered Nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, on call healer to a family of over 300, disrupted schedules and work expectations during the COVID pandemic, he helped me streamline that manuscript. He let me know when I lost him in vague thoughts, reined me in when I got too wordy, tried to write the story the way I want people to understand, helped me see that all I needed to do was tell my story and let my readers figure out the rest. He never missed a scheduled appointment. We met on Skype and Zoom. He critiqued what I submitted in writing and constantly encouraged me to continue. I almost gave up during the COVID crisis. John gently reminded me of the impact written words had on my life and how they pulled me from near loss of reason as a child. Finally, using Write By Night and John Sibley Williams, to research potential publishers and create a package of letters to submit to them, my lack of knowledge, did not become a hindrance to my publishing efforts. I submitted to 23 publishers on 12/23/20 and I was picked up by Adelaide Books by 01/14/21. My book, "The Serpent's Tail, will be released in January of 2022. I am humbled and grateful for this. I was able to do it with the professional, friendly, and super informed efforts of Write By Night and John Sibley Williams. Because of them I can say this....... Thank You! Deb Thibodeau, Author!

After working with my coach, Marie Curran, for several months, we came to the conclusion that despite having 50 pages done, I needed to start over. I could have given up at the moment, but having Marie on my side kept me positive and motivated. I'm well into my second rewrite, and I'm so grateful for Marie's astute insights and expertise. Each comment has helped pull the story out of me and made my writing better. She will be front and center on my "Special Thank You" page! I also appreciate WriteByNight's protocols and pricing. I feel that David is genuinely dedicated to supporting writers.

After months of back-and-forth emails and editing, there were duplications in the narration from chapter to chapter. I was told there was a "team" editing my 105,000-plus-word manuscript. I realized there was no coordination among the different people working on my project. Chapters one and two had the same info included after their "final" edits. I contacted them about this and was told by Joshua that he agreed, and one person should work on my book. After working on only the manuscript's first three chapters for seven months, they never received final, acceptable developmental editing! I attempted to meet with Joshua in person, and before traveling from Boston to NY, I was told by phone that he was ill and that the New York office was closed as a result. Months later, I decided to meet with him again and was told he was now out of the country! I finally decided to travel from Boston to NYC to meet with ANYONE at their office. Upon going to 448 Broadway (Their listed address), I was shocked to find out ....They have no physical office there! I called the number listed and was told by a Rick Jordon that "we are an online company and to meet anyone in person will cost you more money!" Obviously, I had been scammed and am now taking legal action to recover my money. My advice is to stay away from this company !!.....(Though they promised a full refund, I have not received it .) I am very disappointed.

Complete and total scam. I ordered an advanced editing and didn't receive anything even 4 days past…read morethe deadline return date. I emailed them and didn't get a response for a week. They scammed me for 60 dollars. 2 days later, I received an invoice from them for 882 dollars saying I purchased a mail service????? They used my credit card information and spent almost a thousand dollars for nothing. Never use their service ever again. They will scan you!!!!

Please do not waste your time and money in this company. They offer very poor service on editing…read moreyour professional document. I signed up for the advanced service, 2 pages 700 words for $60. I chose the advance service cause I mostly want the editor's feedback and know if my writing is making it into the point about the project I am doing. Since I'm not a native English speaker, I, of course, was also hoping to use this service to polish my document into a more professional tone of writing. They turn my document back to me in the very last minute, with a document that seemed edit in a rush. I have to rewrite the whole thing all over again. And there are no editor's comments at all. They make my document all red and some unnecessary comments (because they don't understand the professional background I am doing) to make it like they've done tons of work. But those are really not the main point. I argue with them for a refund or review my document again, the custom service seemed nice and pro. They first offer me to have a senior editor review my document again. But then the very last mins, they no longer can offer me the service and said they will refund the money back to me. After a month later, I still do not receive my refund, and I sent almost 10 emails to them. By the way, their phone cannot be reached at all. The custom service acts like they are willing to help you out, to earn your trust, but it is all about acting. I haven't get my refund, and I waste so much time on this that is so not worth it. I leave the review here hopefully no one else will fell into this trap as I did.

My resume "intake form" must have been about 7-10 pages long- a random stream of consciousness... everything from my previous work experience, what I thought my new career would like, stuff that mattered, stuff that didn't... Jillian combed through all that mess, plucked out the most relevant strengths and formulated the most beautifully articulate sentences out of them. It is as if she could read my messy mind and spit it out as a masterpiece! She is extremely bright, detail-oriented, articulate, and experienced. When I asked her opinion, she gave me thoughtful answers that were spot on- she's an expert, yet gentle and supportive in her suggestions. I am extremely high maintenance with a ton of requests- the fact Jillian worked with me seemingly effortlessly really says something about her customer service. I would recommend her to anyone in need of resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn. THANK YOU JILLIAN!!
