Most of the staff are friendly, the centre is clean and the outdoor play area is very big, has loads of shade and great equipment. I believe the centre has just changed hands so there will be changes in the coming weeks, I have noticed a lot of new staff recently. Most staff interact well with the children, I have noticed a few that just sit around watching them - not actually playing or engaing with them. The centre has a very good sun smart policy and each child that is enrolled receives their own hat. They do not provide meals or nappies. The leaders in each room keep a daily journal for parents to read which has pictures of the daily activities and a narrative. The centre is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday and they DO charge for public holidays which I found out the hard way, but I have heard that most centres do now. They take babies from 6 weeks old to children of preschool age but do not provide before or after school care. Before and after school care was canned about three months ago and the centre at Cashmere now provides this service to families in Eatons Hill. They welcome families to visit the centre before enrolling which I would highly recommend - the best times to visit are the business times, between 10:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 3:30pm. Also, don't call ahead - I think it is better to show up unexpected, I feel you get a better idea of how the centre is run when you are not expected.

They are open every day but Public Holidays and weekends. They have a very sound sun smart policy and now supply food and nappies for the price. The girls are friendly and the kids love them. Miss Jodie even brings her Turtles in for a play ! It is clean and when you have a problem, they listen and are pro-active. I have had no problems with Centre 2.

This year the mathletics and reading eggs programs were cancelled and a free version introduced, however; the free version expects parents to pay in order to get the full benefit. One again profits before education. In addition, the staff are not paid correctly and taken advantage of by questioning their Christian faith if they ask for the correct pay and conditions.

Gymbaree at Sunnybank Plaza has excellent art, music and movement programs for infants and…read moretoddlers. When my sister first told me about Gymbaree, I assumed it was like a child care centre. Nu-uh. You can't leave your kids unattended here. Part of the programme teaches parents how to encourage their kids to develop motor skills and socialisation by modelling the teachers. You may think this is instinctive and for some adults it is. Since attending a couple of sessions of Gymbaree, I can see that some adults are not comfortable playing and don't really know how to interact with toddlers. However, after a couple of sessions, adults and kids quickly learn to play together. The other incentive for carers and parents of young children to attend Gymbaree is that it enables them to link up with other parents for friendship and support. If you're not sure whether this is for you, jump online and sign up for a free holiday class. NB: Don't bother fighting to get a premium car park at Sunnybank Plaza. Go around the back to the outdoor parking area with the sails. The Gymbaree entry is outside near the Coles entry.

I've spent a year fighting for adequate care of my children at this centre and I have been unsuccessful in changing their care for the better. This ultimately lead to removing my children and finding them an alternative facility to attend. I'd caution any other parents from sending their children to Kindy Garden, Ferny Hills.
