He stored the materials for our project so that we could get them at a cheaper rate by ordering ASAP. (Every company we contacted was months away from starting new projects so my tip; get the bids many months before you want your project completed bc every company was backed up) Gary told us that the colors we wanted for our deck initially probably wouldn't actually look good with our house color, so we trusted Gary's opinion on that and so glad we did!!! Our deck matches perfectly and looks like it came with the house. Also, Gary opined that we should change the stair layout from the original layout with our old deck, and he was right about that! Aaron was our builder and he was here every day working well past dark. He is MacGyver! He must be a genius with physics. He left the worksite cleaner than he found it. Angie works in the office and always responded to every question promptly and is very helpful. She helped us fill out the Timbertech warranty when the project was finished. Great team to work with! He arrived almost 2 hours later than our arranged time. Wasn't a big deal. He did a decent job with the lights. He could not hang all the shutters due to humidity and said he would come back to finish the job. I paid him the remaining $400 when he came back July 11. On July 15, I texted Justin to let him know a shutter had come off the house, and another was close to falling off. It is now Sept. 6 and after multiple texts and several promises to return, he has not been back and has stopped responding to my messages. The second shutter did come off, as well as a third. Please do not hire Justin/Knuckle Busters. I feel bad writing a review like this, but I am not sure what else to do at this point. I feel my messages were reasonable and it's not like I hounded him every day. I just want the job I paid for to be finished satisfactorily. It's not a lot to ask for.

He has not come back and communication is once a month at most when he promises a refund. It is now the end of July and we are accepting the fact that not only did we get scammed, but it's going to be a long fight to get our money back. I spoke with a few of his former employees, they admitted that he takes deposits and never finishes the job and that he has a small army of people coming after him. BEWARE!! Do not trust him and do not give him any money ever. If you see this guy, run the other way! As of this posting his company website is down and it says services not available.

They also provided written documentation of how they were going to do everything - details on how the support posts would be set, on the structure, and on the deck boards, etc, many of which were beyond what the local building code requires. And then they were able to deliver on what they said they would do. The new support structure for my deck is rock solid, I swear I could park a truck on it. Good communication with me throughout the entire process. And the finished product is beautiful. I went with a composite deck material. Ken was easy to communicate and work with on the planning and proposal for the new deck. The new deck was to be more practical and modest in size than the existing 35+ year old cedar monstrosity. Demolition of the huge old wooden deck was complicated by cold weather. Mike was 'Demolition Man" extraordinaire as he dragged huge sections of decking and understructure up a large hill to be hauled away. Winter came quickly with a vengeance and the ground was snow covered for the December installation. The installation crew worked hard and as a team. They were prepared for every circumstance due to the weather. Some minor follow up was needed in the spring to remove remnants of the old deck that were frozen in the ground. The result is a beautiful deck that is exactly what I wanted and its ready to go for the best of outdoor weather to come. To a person everything was done with excellence in service and workmanship. I wish I knew every name to give credit. Each individual was professional, friendly, polite and made every effort to perform a service that was customer oriented.
