I am incredibly grateful to Dependable Appliances for sending their technician to my home today. My…read moredryer had been out of order for a whole week because a belt needed to be changed, preventing the drum from turning. The repair was done in 15 minutes, and the price was very reasonable. John was courteous and efficient. I called this morning for service, and John was at my door two hours later. I was lucky he found time for me in his busy schedule, and we have a dryer for the weekend laundry. To compare with other service providers: My dryer stopped working on Saturday. 1) I called the closest service company closest to my home on Monday, leaving a message, and I am still waiting for a call back. Nothing on the voicemail let the customer know why they could not call back for such a long time. 2) I called the company second closest to my home on Wednesday, and a person responded, telling me that the technician would call me back within a couple of days. They did not give me any sense of how many days that would be. I called back on Thursday and got the same message from the same person. As of Friday, nobody called me back. Thank you, John. Thank you, Dependable Appliances.

i was trying to do some Christmas shopping for my mother in this store, and could only stay inside…read morefor about a minute. the woman working at the cash was loudly complaining to another customer about Queen's students pulling out credit cards to pay for anything and everything without worry, because their "rich parents would just pay the credit card bill". she went on to say "but I can't say anything to them because I'm supposed to be nice to the students". the other customer looked visibly uncomfortable, and I was appalled by her behaviour. I hope the storeowner or employee sees this review and seriously considers what they talk about and to whom, because they are actively driving away business. I will not be going back to this store.

So glad I had a call this afternoon to pick up the drawer and to my utmost joy and surprise, the Store Manager said, you will not be charged for the repairs and thus, my motivation to leave this review. Most of our garden looks nice but several plants died out within 2 weeks of planting them. We brought in our receipt and the dead plants and asked to exchange for a new one or a gift cert ....we didn't even want a refund. The manager said they do not reimburse people, once the plant goes out the door they don't care what happens to it. Poor business sense!

Yes, the fabrics are expensive. That's because this is where you go to buy expensive fabric. The signage is excellent, and they have a sale section in the very back with tonnes of choices! I was able to buy fabric for my project for just a few dollars. They have a lot of notions that were all priced very reasonably. It was clean, there was no foul smell (which can not be said of most fabric stores) and the staff were perfectly polite and helpful. If you're looking to save, take advantage of seasonal sales! I hope this review encourages you to give it a try. They have upholstery, quilting, and garment fabrics. Very diverse stock! Side note, but there is lots of good parking here too!

Showed me what the problem was and explained how to prevent it from happening again. Explained what he did to fix the problem, didn't try to upsell me on parts. Tested the washer, found a small leak and fixed that as well all for the minimum service fee ($79.95 +tax). Would call again if we have any further appliance issues!
