Love love love. Did I say love? You just need to come here…read more They have 2 options for AYCE and option B is the best of course. Come hungry! I love how they have comfy sofas for you to wait for the rest foe your party to show up. It's a fun spot, friendly for couples, groups, or even on your own! From the appetizers, you gotta try the fried dumplings, seafood pancake, corn cheese, steamed egg, fish cake, japchae, and all the pickled items. Actually, just get 1 of everything! The honey pig sauce is my #1 although their yum yum sauce is much improved and don't forget the simple sesame oil with salt or the ssamjang. Other kbbq spots have tried to make their own HP sauce but it's just not the same. Be prepared to cook for yourself although it is kinda fun and communal. Our favorite meats are the hanger steak, beef brisket, bulgogi, and thinly sliced pork belly. Honorable mention is the spicy pork bulgogi. The shrimp was tasty but you do have to get your hands dirty FYI. Our server, Ben, was amazing! He kept the food coming! I'm so full right now and still eating as I type this. Come visit soon, you won't be disappointed!

We had the chance to meet Mikey Kim. Now they are in CP and mannnn everything is 1000% better. The Banchan is very tasty! The egg souffle and kimchee are my favorite. The meat qualities and service is so much better than Iron Age, and KPOT... yeah I said it... Besides, I love KPOP... I teach KPOP dance on the side sooo watching the latest KPOP videos while im chowing down on good food is a win win.. I love the little robot ... it reminds me of Rosie from the Jetsons lol... Anyways the service is great.. I wished that they never left Germantown location... Maybe they can come back to MOCO... the Old Outback steakhouse is still empty... just saying.. (:

Representing 2023 in alphabet series, N is for Northwest Chinese Food. This place made the Top 100…read morebest restaurants in Washingtonian. I happened to disagree and don't see the appeal. I like most other Chinese restaurants I've been to better, but this place has its unique flair and a different spin on Chinese food. This was overall a negative experience. In May 2023, I had a date, which included Northwest Chinese Food. I had met her way back in March 2021 from an online date. We didn't end up going out again. Then, shortly before this date I saw her at a hiking Meetup group, but we didn't remember each other initially. She seemed cool, and I got her phone number but realized her # was in my phone already and then remembered the March 2021 date where we walked in a park. In May 2023, it was the same kind of thing of meeting for a walk and came up with meeting at Lake Artemisia. It was actually a decent date at the lake, and we were discussing dinner. We were looking on phone weighing options. She had suggested I think Mission BBQ, but I said I literally had like a day earlier. Ultimately, she suggested Northwest Chinese saying that it was one of her favorites, and I was game to try. She had said that she didn't drive there since she lived in College Park and walked to the park, and I drove us to Northwest Chinese. I forgot to factor parking being a pain in central College Park, which I was annoyed. I don't like paying to park just to eat a meal. So, I put 1 hour in the meter, which limited our time at the restaurant but is enough time to eat. If we had gone with Mission BBQ or whatever not in central College Park, we could've stayed 2 hours if it had been good. I honestly might have nixed the Northwest Chinese idea. Even though it was close to 8 PM on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was quite busy and was a wait, which I didn't think would be on the later side on a Wednesday night. It's a small hole in the wall place. It was nicely decorated, but it's small & tight spacing with limited seating. We waited outside for 15-20 minutes. We got seated. I told the server right away we have 40 minutes left on the meter so that he was aware. The one positive was the server did do a good job respecting our time and was efficient coming around often with water, etc. We got our food in good time. But this was quite spicy and adversely affected the taste for me. The quality seemed pretty good, but because of all the spice, I didn't enjoy this meal. Additionally, it was loud in there, and I had to speak unnaturally loud to the server and was hard to hear in there. Further, we were very close to the table next to us, particularly could've joined in on their conversation. Afterwards, I drove her back home. But the dinner with the loudness, it was hard to keep much of conversation going, the time constraint of the parking, dealing with the spiciness, it ruined what had been a good date at the lake. Overall, this restaurant left a sour taste or really more accurately a spicy taste in my mouth.

THEY CHANGED OWNERS AND DID NOT ADVERTISE IT. I AM SO SO DISAPPOINTED…read more When this place first opened, it quickly became my #1 spot because it was really the only pho place in the area but it USED TO be so good! The family with the girl and boy that ran the front is not there anymore. So if you used to come here like me, I'm doing you all a favor and letting you guys know this place is TERRIBLE now that they switched owners. Not only that but much more expensive for a poor quality imitation of what this place used to be under the OLD owners. Small bowl is more than $18 now!!! Insane. I got a small bowl asked for half noodles they didn't do that and only had fatty brisket in it even though I got #11 which included also tendon and flank. YALL THIS PHO WAS COLD. The temperature was as if someone left hot tea out for 30-40 minutes. No more piping hot clear good broth, this broth from the new owners is MURKY AND BROWN and cold/lukewarm. I didn't say anything but just know I will NEVER come back its simply not worth it. Pickled onions was drowning in a weirdly sweet vinaigrette. Go elsewhere for better pho. I feel like these new people know they are not as good as the old people so they didn't tell anyone about the owner switch and are basically tricking people into coming and paying more money for worse pho riding on the coattails of a different owners reputation and I feel weirdly upset about that, like I've been tricked. If you guys used to come here all the time with the old owners then you will understand how upsetting this is. This place survived through the pandemic in the middle of PG that's how good they were. Pillar of the community just gone now. Also they won an award for being one of the best woman owned businesses but it's not woman owned anymore and the new owners haven't changed anything and they still have that sticker up even though it's not a woman owned business anymore. Like I said they are just riding the coattails of the previous owners.

"Hole In The Wall", is an understatement. This place is almost invisible. With that being said, I'm…read moreso happy we found this spot! We were starving. It was our last day visiting fam in MD and we wanted to get some grub before the trip back to NY. There's a regular VN spot we frequent whenever we visit and it seemed to be closed so we didn't want to risk a drive out. We found Pho Tai 63 and called ahead to make sure they were open. Once that was done, we took the 20 minute drive to the restaurant and placed our order. The parking lot is SCANT. There are minimal spots. In this particular day (Black Friday), the place was packed, save for one spot and we got it. Upon entry, their dining room was full to capacity. We ordered some pho (that's all they have and I'm not mad - was a l'il disappointed at the time but we'll get to that). It too some time to get our food, much longer than expected, but I was not mad because there's definitely a reason for that. We brought every back home. Each pho dish was enough to feed two people my dad and brother ended up showing up at my sister's house the same time we got back. We had enough to feed everyone. The food is FRESH! the broths are clear and full of depth. You can make out the star anise and other herbs and spices. I split the shrimp pho with my brother since he doesn't eat meat. I got my sister the brisket pho. My son ordered the special pho and split that with my dad. Hubby also got a brisket pho and I got my daughter the chicken pho. The broths differ but each taste amazing. All of the pho came with the usual suspects: Thai basil, bean sprouts, hoisin sauce, lime and hot sauce. The accompaniments were plentiful so having extra mouths to feed worked out in our favor. My next trip south, I might have to do a taste test with both locations and see which I prefer. I wish they offered bahn mi sandos but honestly, with the caliber of pho they're dishing out, they are reigning supreme at the moment. Sometimes, it pays to focus on one thing and be REALLY good at it.
