The best pediatrician in Laredo? NOPE!!!He has seen all three of my children since birth and now…read moresuddenly refuses to see my 15 year old. The office acts as if it's not a huge issue. No doctor will see a child under 18 because they claim they should still be seen by their pediatrician. So, when I called Dr. Cantu's office to see if they could offer a solution, they simply told me NO. They said I should find another pediatrician for my 15 year old child. How unprofessional after all these years of giving him my business. Needless to say, I will be switching all my children to a new pediatrician. Side note- if you see Dr. Cantu, please be aware that with every visit he will go into a long diabetes lecture about how your toddler/child is overweight. He will bust out his weight chart and shame them every time. I understand his obligations as doctor however I now have a child battling an eating disorder and YES, it did stem from this disgusting doctor telling her she was fat from the time she was old enough to understand the meaning of the word. Because of his shaming she hated to go see him. I should have switched doctors long ago and advise anyone to never take their children to this doctor.

They told me they didn't have my apt and they can "squeeze me in" for 4pm. I advised I got 2 confirmation emails and a "don't forget you have an apt at 2:30" email. They said they don't know what happened but at 4 is when they can see me. When I scheduled the appointment over the phone I advised what insurance I had and they told me they accepted that insurance. I arrive and the receptionist tells me they don't know if they accept my insurance and that I need to wait for the billing lady to arrive. 45 Min later they tell me the billing girl has still not arrived and don't know when she's going to get back from lunch. I waited for an hour for the billing lady, not knowing if I was going to get seen or if they accepted my insurance. Such a waste of time and not organized at all. Don't recommend. I really wanted a female PCP, but unfortunately this one is not it.

The office is poorly air conditioned, severely over crowded, and the staff is too overwhelmed to be professional or patient. I do not recommend this practice if customer service is important to you or you want to be treated professionally. This office is certainly not a great experience with sick or healthy children.

She did say that they would be open today ( Saturday) from 9-12 as advertised and here it is 9:31 and no one is at the clinic, it is closed !! why advertise a nighttime clinic and tout Saturday hours if you don't do them! I called the number at 9:05 this morning when we arrived and I was told someone one would be in a few minutes.... Ha what a joke! The answering service and I was told that I should not have been told that the McPherson office was going to be open on Saturday,it actually is the LMC office that is open on Saturday again why are the people working at this office so misinformed, why do they advertise for something that they don't even do, you should at least put on the advertisement and tell people that the Saturday location is LMC so now after wasting 30 minutes at the McPherson office I am on my way to the LMC.

The office blames everything on our private insurance but that is incorrect because I've spoken to the insurance along with another doctor's office. For 1 hearing evaluation I've had to go 3 times and pay a separate copay every time. I could hear the nurses talking and laughing about us as we waited for another appointment. Seriously? ! I asked what the test entailed and I am 100 percent serious this nurse actually said "uh a hearing test"!!! I can not stress this enough, take your children to any other ENT out there. I took my mother to get treated for something that was obstructing her throat. He said it was…read morenothing and that it could be allergies. Followed up with another appointment and insisted they were just allergies, but my mother had pain in her throat. He said there were no need for studies and was very unprofessinal making personal remarks to my about getting herself a boyfriend. We made ann appointment with another ENT in Laredo, Dr. Enrique Garcia, who was wonderful and sent her for some exams. She had a tumor in her throat! I hope you reconsider before making an appointment to see this doctor.
