I absolutely love this environment. It feels like family here. Coach Jonathan knows everybody's name and is very personable. I have lost 30 pounds and reshaped my body. I just came off a challenge and learned so much more about nutrition. The coaches are very knowledgeable and always watching you to make sure you are doing the exercise correctly. I like the smaller class size because you get so much more personal attention. Coach Frank introduced cardio boxing and I absolutely love it! It is intense and I always burn twice as many calories during this class. I am here at least six days a week and I highly recommend joining if you really want to change your life!

One star. Save your money and look elsewhere for personal training…read more I invested $1,500 in a 12 session personal training package and received little in return: Here's what went wrong: Availability: Frank, the trainer was regularly unavailable for sessions. Consistency is the foundation of any fitness program, and that simply was not possible with this trainer's schedule. Communication: He shared his personal cell phone as the main way to reach him. In practice, texts were frequently ignored, and responses - when they came - were delayed by days. This made booking and confirming appointments incredibly stressful. Professionalism: Managing a client's schedule is a basic expectation of a personal trainer. The disorganization and lack of follow-through were completely unacceptable at this price point. At $1,500 for 12 sessions, I expected to be treated as a valued client. Instead, I felt like an afterthought. This was a complete waste of money and I would not recommend Frank as a trainer or Ventura Fit Body Boot Camp for personal training.

I recently discovered that the same parent company owns FS8 and F45 training. FS8, which is a blend…read moreof Pilates/yoga/tone in Thousand Oaks (which opened up early Feb of this year), definitely kicked my butt, so I decided to see what f45 offered. F45 is a cardio/resistance training blend. For an intro offer of $25 for 5 classes, I decided to see if this place would kick my butt, too. I met one of the instructors, Cara, who was very helpful and showed me around the place. There's a Pilates class in the back room and a sauna that you can use if you join for the F45 membership, plus an extra fee. Cara explained that the screens would show the movements we were to mirror, but she also told me to go at my own pace and helped me with my form during several of the stations. I went around the room 3 times (15 minutes total, 45 seconds at each station plus 15 seconds to transition to the next station) to get in a very sweaty 45-minute workout. I used to think I was in decent shape. F45 training laughed in my face as I prayed for the 45-second exercise to end, so I could transition to another 45-second exercise that I also wished were over. Somehow, I made it through the workout, humbled. This place is high energy and definitely challenges you mentally and physically. I look forward to continuing my F45 training journey!

There are two main reasons why I give F45 Training a Five Star rating…read more The first reason: these workouts aren't boring. That's super important because most exercise bores me. And if it's boring, I'm not going to want to do it. But that's never an issue at F45. I've found every session to be different enough that I never get bored. The classes are really well-designed. You know when you sign up what the focus of your class will be. There are usually 10 stations that you complete in 45 minutes, but the exercises at each station are different every class. Each station has two different exercises, typically one for the upper body, one for the lower body. You can choose to do either or both. The second, and most important, reason I give this gym a Five Star Rating is the trainers that work here. Especially the early morning staff, Josie, Lauren and Sarah. There are usually at least two trainers working every class. They continuously circulate around the room, so you never have to wait long for one to come by and check to see if your form is correct or if you need a modification. If you have difficulty doing an exercise, a trainer will instantly modify it or give you an alternative exercise. And that's another reason F45 gets 5 stars from me. See, I can actually do very few of the exercises as demonstrated. I need modifications at almost every station. But I know that in less than a minute a trainer will pass by and quickly modify the activity into something I can actually do. So, I always get a great workout here. F45 Training really is a great place to workout. The trainers that work here are incredibly supportive. There is a really positive, high energy, vibe here. Sessions often end with people high-fiving each other. I love that! Mikey C says: I highly recommend F45 Training!
