"The Board and Texarkana doctor Morgen Melinda Rozenboom, M.D., entered into an Agreed Order prohibiting Dr. Rozenboom from engaging in the practice of obstetrics, labor and delivery, or home births, and prohibiting her from supervising, delegating to, or associating with any midlevel providers including midwives in such practices until successfully completing the following requirements: within one year complete at least 24 hours of CME, divided as follows: eight hours in managing obstetrical emergencies, eight hours in risk management, including physician-patient communications and eight hours in medical recordkeeping; within one year obtain certification in neonatal resuscitation from the Neonatal Resuscitation Program offered by the American Medical Association of Pediatrics; and upon lifting the restriction, have her practice monitored by another physician for four consecutive monitoring cycles. The Board found Dr. Rozenboom failed to document her management of a patient's post-partum complications, including her assessment of the patient or what actions she took to stabilize the patient. The medical records demonstrate that the patient's vital signs were not monitored with appropriate frequency or regularity during the post-partum period, including when the patient exhibited signs of respiratory distress. The documentation that does exist contains errors and inaccuracies. Some friends of mine back East tell me that waiting for forty five minutes to ninety minutes to see a doctor is the norm. The office ladies are nice and cheerful. Dr Babbitt suggests the typical tests women and men should have but does not insist you have them. He just leaves it up to the patient. He's smart , knows what he's doing but very laid back. I'm comfortable with Dr Babbitt. I saw him recently for UTI. He sent, immediately a prescription for Bactrim. Five days later I felt better but not as much as I thought I should. His nurse called me and said the urinalysis showed that my UTI would be resistant to Bactrim and they called in a prescription for Amoxicillin and said to throw out the Bactrim. I am so appreciative of this personal attention to my test results.
