If you are reading this review because you're considering photographers for your wedding (or any other event) you should probably go ahead and book them now. We were lucky enough to learn about Amanda Collins Photography through Viaggio Winery's preferred vendor list, and I couldn't be happier to have Amanda as our wedding photographer. Not only did the pictures end up absolutely gorgeous (and delivered in a reasonable timeframe with near-immediate social media previews) but having Amanda and her husband there genuinely made my wedding experience more enjoyable and seamless. They also did an excellent job in getting both black and white and color shots, as well as a good combination of posed and candid photos. I honestly couldn't be happier with the pictures. It might be worth noting that we had a Persian wedding ceremony, which meant a bit more of an elaborate setup including something called the Soreh Aghd. Amanda and Chandler did an incredible job capturing the details of the Sofreh Aghd. It was very reassuring to know that she took care to capture the cultural elements of our wedding with such attention to detail and precision. Additionally, Amanda went absolutely above and beyond the duties of a photographer- from taking care of my immensely complicated bustle, to acting as a security guard for some overly interested passerby near the ceremony site (lol). After seeing (and being a bridesmaid in) the photos Amanda took for my best friend's wedding three years ago, my husband and I knew we also needed Amanda for whenever we would have our big day. That big day just came and went, but booking Amanda was the first priority (next to booking a venue) during our planning stages. We booked her top package that included our engagement session, ten hours of wedding day coverage, and some added goodies. She and her second shooter, Chandler, were incredibly prompt and efficient. They are both so great to work with, super friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and clearly experts in their field. If I could give more than five stars, I would. We fought against the loss of sunlight due to daylight savings, and we won. The photos are phenomenal and the worst part will be figuring out which ones to hang on the walls. We had the most amazing experience with Amanda and could not love our engagement or wedding photos more! She is punctual, professional and so SWEET! Her and her husband went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and on time for our wedding day. They made everyone feel confident and comfortable. Amanda was recommended to me by a friend who has performed weddings. He had been impressed with how efficient and personable she was at the wedding. After viewing her online portfolio and prices, I was very impressed! She offered reasonable packages and had a middle package that sounded perfect for my timeline and even included a wedding book! She was more than happy to travel to SF for our engagement shoot, responded quickly to any questions I had and got my pictures to me in 2-3 weeks after both the engagement shoot and the wedding! Now THAT is impressive and very much appreciated! I was able to save all the images and print what I wanted from there for family, invitations etc. Before the wedding we met and went over expectations and timeline for the wedding day. She and her husband (the 2nd shooter day of) met me for coffee and discussed everything from what family pictures I wanted, what time time line would be, the feel I was looking for... everything. I left that meeting feeling very confident that we were on the same page and that all my important details would be captured. On my wedding day, they were just amazing! I am obsessed. Amanda and her husband, Chandler, are truly a dream come true. I could not imagine having a better experience with any photographer. Neither my husband or I feel comfortable in front of a camera, and Amanda made it so easy, relaxed and natural. She is a MASTER of light. Her understanding of great photo composition is unreal. It comes naturally to her, and she works quickly and efficiently. There's no waiting around for her to find the angle or the light, she just gets it and boom. It's perfect. My experience with Amanda has been easy, fun, and more than I expected when it came to the photography for our wedding. Amanda Collins Photography is amazing and completely exceeded our expectations. Amanda is a wonderful photographer, easy to work with, flexible, she has creative ideas and always met our requests. Our proofs were ready for us to view in a very timely manner (just a few weeks). E-mails and/or phone calls were returned the same day and she made us feel very comfortable and did whatever it took to make us happy. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but I never had any concerns or stress when it came to our photographer. It was actually just the opposite. Our engagement session was fun, she is very calming, professional, offers suggestions, and really wants to make sure your wedding day is extra special. The day of our wedding Amanda and her assistant went above and beyond to help any way they could. She should add wedding coordinator to her list of specialties! I found myself constantly turning to her for help with other issues, time constraints, making sure everything was going as I had planned, etc. There were so many things that our actual event coordinator should have been doing that weren't getting taken care of, such as making sure the dining hall was set up and the bridal party lined up and ready to start the ceremony on time. Wow. I really feel like I connected with Amanda after our first consultation. She clearly knows wedding photography inside and out. She helped plan the timeline of the wedding, coordinated a great first look session, and captured the ceremony and reception beautifully. I really appreciated her calmness, too.
