Clearly, we needed a driver so we could get around safely and let loose a little. The Maid of Honor found this limo service, and from what she told us, she had a great experience from the moment she called to inquire about hiring them for our girl's weekend. Let me tell you, we couldn't have had had better experience! Bob was our driver both Friday and Saturday, and he couldn't have been more accommodating. Handling a large group of girls is never an easy feat, but Bob was extremely patient, understanding and extremely sweet the entire weekend. He would make sudden stops for us when we saw a place we were interested in checking out, he had a cooler full of yummy snacks for us on Saturday to keep us going throughout the day, and he walked us up to every venue to introduce us. Not to mention, he completely decorated the limo on Friday night with "Bachelorette" decor (he even brought us a bachelorette game to play!), and on Saturday the limo was decorated with pretty floral napkins. Those special touches were extremely appreciated and went above and beyond any expectations we had. Bob is someone we will always talk about when reminiscing about our amazing girls weekend, he truly was so wonderful and anyone would be lucky to experience his impeccable service. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

He called ahead to every place when went over the two days to make sure they were prepared for our arrival. He was patient as 8 girls ran late everywhere we went and made sure the limo looked great every time we re-entered. We couldn't have had a better experience. I was attempting to find Carson Pass and the Pacific Crest Trail on Yelp but this works…read more I always Use this beautiful highway to cross the Sierras whether on the motorcycle or in a car. The best time to travel is during the week because there is much less traffic. Of course you may find a camper in your way but just relax and enjoy the ride. The road gets really nice after you pass through the historic town of Jackson. You begin the climb through the forest, past a couple of beautiful lakes and you find yourself at the summit. This is a must stop. There is a Ranger's cabin / store that is open during the day. It's usually manned by either Rangers or some very knowledgeable volunteers. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses Carson Pass at this spot. You can park and hike or backpack from this spot. Make sure you have the proper gear food and water before heading out! There are trail maps available and you can also get some great advice from the Rangers as well as other hikers!. The views from the top of the pass are incredible as you descend the east side of the mountains. Take your time and enjoy the beauty!

I want to share California State Route 88 with you as it was one of the unexpected awesome…read morediscoveries on my trips through California. I used it to get from Yosemite to Lake to Tahoe - I headed north on 49 and turned right onto 88 at Jackson and turned off it north onto 89 to get to Tahoe. Providing you don't get stuck behind something slow and wide on the road, it's a smooth ride - most people seem to head up 50 but they would be missing out on the amazing scenery on 88. As you head ever upwards with markers telling you the rising elevation every 1000 feet, you suddenly come out onto the most amazing view of the surrounding mountains and a series of lakes, including Silver Lake and Caples Lake. There are lots of pullouts to get pictures and it's nice that there are plaques telling you a bit of the history of this route - it used to be the Old Emigrant Road and the mind boggles to think of the pioneers struggling over this elevation in their wagons. Much easier in a hire Toyota Corolla on paved roads. In the spring, there is still ice in the lakes, which makes for some dramatic pictures. If you travel between Yosemite and Tahoe on this route, the drive will seem less like traveling but more like part of a sightseeing journey.

You might be Yelp Elite if you've ever sat in your kitchen at 5:30am, wondering how many stars to…read morerate a train station. It's a tough call. Three stars is probably generous, but my reasoning is that, as far as Sacramento light rail stations go, this one is pretty middle of the road. For me, the main draw of this station is the fact that it's so close to KP International Market, which I can always walk around if I have too long of a layover at Cordova Town Center. This feels a lot safer than just sitting around at Sunrise Station for 15 minutes. Guards don't usually hang out around this station for very long, but there are guards in the parking lots of several of the surrounding businesses. Plus, this whole neighborhood is chock-full of security cameras. In general, a train going in each direction comes every 15 minutes. In the event that the trains are down, and there is a bus bridge (an occurrence that seems to be happening more and more frequently), the boarding areas for the bus bridge are a very short walk from the train boarding areas. Parking is very close to the train boarding area-- probably the closest of any station. And, like most stations, parking is free, making this an almost ideal stop for Folsom park-and-riders. I would note that SacRT does not seem to have as much of an interest keeping the trains running east of this station as they do running west, so, for Folsom riders, parking here may be a good way to avoid a bus bridge. As to bus bridges-- okay, I see that you're trying to do something about the fact that the train isn't working, and that's cool. What would be even cooler is if there were any clear way to communicate this with riders before they get to the station. Lately, it's starting to feel like SacRT is just okay with Folsom service being frequently down. If they aren't getting enough funding to keep the lines operating, they at least need to figure out how to effectively communicate scheduling issues. Currently, they deserve less than one star for their ability to do so. When there is a bus bridge, it should be posted immediately on SacRT's web page, app, and Facebook, but in reality, you'll be lucky to hear about it in a timely manner on any of those. It would be cool if at least like 15% of the sign boards worked, but they don't. I haven't seen a properly working SacRT sign board in years. In reality, you are highly unlikely to know about a bus bridge until you show up to the station without extra time to spare, and find out you're going to be delayed by an hour. Therefore, if you are looking for a reliable method of transportation to get you to work or school in a timely manner, this really isn't it. Which is really sad when you think about the fact that the people with the least access to transportation are the most likely to be fired for absence issues. When it comes to cleanliness, SacRT does an okay job of trying to keep this station clean, but, like the majority of train stations, it's still rat central. Hear that rustling in the bushes? Those are rats. Don't be surprised if you actually see one-- I nearly always do. So, while there is a great deal of sitting room at this station, it is mostly backed by rat-infested bushes. I would not recommend sitting down in front of the bushes with something to eat. There you have it. I tried to start with the positive, but, to be honest, that required a great deal of cutting and pasting. I'm glad this station exists, and it's one of the better stations in Rancho Cordova, but it's not without its issues. Before I accept the First To Review credit for this page (which I think I actually was, originally), I'd just like to give a shout-out to the not-recommended review of, "I don't get the point of this station no one uses it." I actually do use it, hence, this review. And, don't forget about the rats-- they use it, too.
