This was the absolute best decision of my life. The quality of care, communication between staff, friendships of staff & residents, the food, activities Belhave Estates is by far the highest quality care available in Northern CA. So personal my mom said she lived on a ranch. She had 2 chickens she could feed, horses to bring carrots to, rides in a Tesla, a carriage ride. I cant say enough. Get on the waiting list as its long. Go visit & see for yourself. You will be shocked... in the very best way. Belhaven Estates is a very intimate & a rare find.

At the beginning of November he had a stroke and spends 21 days in re-hab center in Vallejo. On December 3, he gets released to come home. We hired 24 hour care at an exorbitant amount of money and it was not that helpful and awkward having someone in your house 24/7. His physical abilities were declining and we were forced to start looking for an elder care facility. We looked for almost three weeks before finding Belhaven with Monica and Dan. They came to our home to save us a trip. Upon explaining the services they offered, talking to Dennis about what he wanted for care and making both he and I feel comfortable with this horrible decision we made arrangements to move him. Dennis who was only 68 years old when he moved to Belhaven. At the time he was the only man living in the back house and was treated like a king. Not once did I ever regret our decision. All his needs were met by the staff with smiles, humor, compassion, empathy and tenderness. As his physical limitations worsened, his ability to communicate was starting to fail and still they all went beyond my expectations. I probably should mention he entered BelHaven the day the world shut down for COVID. Dennis passed peacefully in August 2020. Thank you Monica and Dan for taking such great care of the love of my life.

If you like mining history, this is a must. Even if you don't, it is well worth doing. There is so much to see here, all beautifully restored and preserved. All these years of driving by on Hwy 49, and I had idea how much was down here to see.

They have a large outdoor area that has some of the old equipment on display. There is also a small museum area and gift shop. They have a cute little area with trinkets you can purchase. They staff was very friendly, greeted us with a warm welcome when we arrived. We had about a half hour before our tour started so we browsed the museum. There is a restroom located outside the museum in a building just across the walk way. Our tour was just over 90 minutes and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. The tour started in the museum, we watched a video on the mine as well as learned about the placer mining and hydro mining. We visited a few buildings around the property, saw how the large rock grinders work and the machinery used to extract the gold from the sand. How they tested samples. We were able to see the engineers office, the pay station, safe, office and bunk house. They have a small building dedicated to the 47 lost in Argonaut mine. It was really cool seeing all the machines they used and getting a history of the Mine back in its operating days.
