When we read this negative comment above, I think several things have changed. Now there are 3 people who take care of maintenance and new employees in the dining department. When I realized that I needed the assistance and expertise of home health aides for my parents, my friends cautioned me to be patient and persistent because I'd probably go through many before I would find one or two that were suitable. Well, this sounded terrible, so I kept asking for recommendations of a company to go through. All I kept getting were "Don't use ___(name of company)______." Until a dear friend said, "You'll want to call Living Life Home Care. It's the company that the hospice people pointed me to, off the record." So I called Mike at Living Life, and the rest is history. The social worker who came to meet with us listened deeply to our needs and discerned the personalities of my parents. The first caregiver they matched us with for my mom, T (using her initial for privacy) was perfect from the start. She knew how to handle the physical needs of my mom, who had just entered hospice at home -- but she also knew how to handle her temper tirades with gentleness and care, all while being highly professional. T was with mom for about 9 months, up to the day she passed away. Then she transitioned to caring for dad and has been doing so for the past 8 months. My parents' needs changed over time due to illness and infirmity, and T knew how to adapt and assist all of us through those changes. When my dad was ill last year for an extended period (while mom was still alive and with T), I called Mike with emergency needs and he was able to meet them even though they were quite immediate and required long shifts. He paired us with L, a male aide, who was also perfect for my dad's personality and needs. L was also so amazing with dad -- tending to his physical needs, and made dad feel safe and secure. And now that T is on vacation for three weeks, we were again gifted with R, who has such a different personality than T -- and yet my dad has transitioned so seamlessly to her care. At the end of mom's life when she was in and out of a hospice care facility, Mike again came through to meet our immediate and urgent ramped-up staffing needs. The nursing oversight and support that Kathy provides is incredible. She was able to discern subtle changes in health status to provide feedback, and to help the health aides (I'm presuming) anticipate and implement changes to care. She does all of this with attention to saving us from needless/extra work and energy expenditure. She is also amazing. I don't know how they all do it -- but they do it with such kindness, care, attention, and compassion. I don't know what else I could ask for.

4 years ago my 71-year-old Mom moved from her home of 50 years to an independent living senior…read morefacility at 1910 Graham Ave. We were overjoyed at the community and amenities the owners Kelley Bothers offered and we thought she had found her next real "home". She was allowed to choose paint colors, the rent was affordable and the whole place had a very friendly home-like feel to it. She was very happy there. Last year the building was sold to Oppidan with Ebenezer as the property management company. It's like a nightmare. They raised her rent $120 a month and went from a yearly lease to month to month with the option to raise the rent any time they like. They are forcing her to move out of her apartment to temporary housing that doesn't even have a telephone so they can "renovate" and put in a lot of changes that she didn't ask for and doesn't want. All the while pretending like they are doing her some kind of favor. They refused to let her keep her wall colors, she has to be without telephone or internet for at least 3 weeks while still paying for the service, she has to pack up all her belongings and to access her car she has to walk to the garage which will be 2 buildings away from her. I warn anyone in the area that has an elderly relative to avoid facilities owned and managed by these people, they are heartless. My Mom was perfectly happy with her living situation the way it was and the only reason they are doing this is for the almighty dollar.

The complex is huge and we have appreciated that he has been able to stay at Trillium Woods as he has aged and his health care needs have increased. We used to eat with him in the restaurant when he was in assisted living. It was like going to an upscale restaurant. It was nothing like "nursing home food." The menu would change and provided the residents with a wonderful selection of options from which to choose. The activities are many and varied. We have appreciated that when the residents go on outings that the staff photographs them and shares them on Facebook. We have enjoyed seeing our loved one at different places, and seeing how happy and engaged he is with other residents and in the community. There is a library for residents and I was happy to see that he uses it regularly. At our visit, he shared that he had just read a book about Robert Frost, the poet, and had a new book about the he sinking of the ocean liner RMS Lusitania that occurred on May 7, 1915, during the First World War. Keeping the residents' minds active and encouraging them to read and continue to learn is impressive and needed! The nursing home section is well-maintained, elegant, and welcoming. There are public seating areas, water with lemon slices in it for guests and residents, a puzzle table, t.v. area, and dining area. When we arrived, the cloth napkins were beautifully folded on the table that had a white linen table cloth on it. This is normal...not the exception. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. They treat everyone with dignity and respect. I could only wish that when the time comes that I need nursing care that I could live in such a beautiful, well-maintained facility with top-notch staff and programming in the arts, music, and outings like Trillium Woods offers.

During that time, staff only showed up about half the…read moretime, and half of those staff members that they sent out would just sit on their phones most of the time and do the absolute bare minimum. I did not have a choice between male or female staff. When staff couldn't make out, they would either notify me right when the shift would start or they would call hours after the shift was supposed to start. Their schedule is also very inflexible. They work (or not lol) only in four hour shifts, either from 8am - noon or 1 pm - 5pm. And their staff use a GPS-based app so they'll try to stick around until their shift is up. Really stayed with the company for way too long based on other people's positive reviews

The employees I feel so little things for the individuals they serve to make sure they are treated with dignity and respect. Joy is the head nurse and she also does a great job. It is about team building and making sure new ideas are brought up to make sure residents are loved and cared for. She has had a variety of ups and downs and everyone including the house manager, the nurse and the staff all are honest and kind with me to keep me informed and connected even when I can't be with Mom as much as I wish. All the staff seem to really like the residents and visit and chit chat when they can. I am so appreciative that I am never "nickel and dimed" for all the little things like someone helping Mom to get dressed sometimes or doing a quick coat of paint on her nails. The building smells good and is decorated for seasons and holidays. It is relatively small which we all like so that Mom can stay active and have some freedom even though her dementia is significant. Her geriatrician visited and made a house call and was very impressed at how well rooms and overall layout were designed to accommodate the needs of elderly and ability to integrate different levels of cognitive and physical abilities together.
