    We hired AM/PM Door Inc. and while the actual work was completed well, the way they handled the service left a very negative impression. I made it clear upfront that, due to their high rates, I wanted to be notified when the technician arrived so that someone from our side could be present. They confirmed this would be done. Instead, the tech came and finished the job without any notice, and I only found out after the fact. Then I received a bill that was double the expected charge. When I asked, I learned they had added a "same day service" fee -- even though I had specifically said this was not urgent. After I pushed back, they simply renamed the charge as a "service charge," even though hourly labor was already listed on the invoice. In other words, I was billed twice for the same service. When I questioned this discrepancy, instead of resolving it fairly, they insisted they were correct and even threatened to send us to collections. As a board representative, I found the whole billing process dishonest and aggressive. While their technicians may do good work, the business practices felt scammy. For an extra $180 they chose to damage their reputation -- I won't be calling them again. ---- UPDATE- AND DECREASED from 2 stars to 1- due to a faulty reply to my review- the business continues to mislead, which is unacceptable. Had to respond so that people know that the reply is faulty: 1- I recieve da phone call letting me know that I will receive a service later that day- I asked on this call- check your recordings- to not start any work UNTIL you let us know tech arrives and we let someone of the building know to meet them- this never happened of course- clearly because they charge by the 15min window. You even admitted it in the email below. Clearly you knew job was don't in less than 30 min but wanted to charge the $439 for your visit. 2- the concerns were raised after the job was done because the concerns are regarding the surprise bill that was sent. Which wa sent after the job was done. 3- I called you guys that evening BEFORE the invoice was sent, to ask where is the technician- letting you know I asked you guys to call us when they arrive- to find our job was already done . I raised it to the last on the answering center that I asked to be called. But never imagined I will receive invoice as i received. 4- To add- they charge YOU for full materials price and clearly stating to you they keep it for their future service calls -- see attached Bottom line- if the company was not aggressive or scammy, they would probably not add a Same Day Service Charge for no reason only to remove it when I mention it and they add it on a different name. My responsibility is to let everyone know how you operate. And hopefully save others the money & experience I had. See below email to see the rates they charge- simple visit will cost you close to $500. Again I will make a note - the actual job was done very well.

    I called and spoke with owner- very charming. He asked me to give a good Yelp review before any one was even sent out. Um, no. Worker (actually subcontractor) showed up on time, and then my garage door split in 2 sideways. I literally helped him hold door up while he secured it. (No, I didn't charge for my labor) I was told replacement door takes 2-3 weeks and was $2,639. I was billed $180 for service call and $250 for 1 hour of labor. I did not realize I was going to be billed for the phone call. I called Melikson Garage Door the next day. Replaced door in 4 days for $1,700 flat. No extra fees. Matches perfectly, works beautifully. When I called AMPM to dispute the $180 call charge, they said they'd only take off the 10% late fee and that they were actually there 1 1/2 hours and only charged me for 1. Total $430. Wasn't going to do a yelp review, but since he asked me to.... They get 3 stars, because the guy they sent was friendly, and professional.

    ***EDIT TO ADD RESPONSE TO OWNERS' REPLY BELOW*** I have my text messages: At 4:30, I received a text from AM PM, Dated Wednesday, July 9th, 4:30 PM, where employee Jess says, "Please let us know if you'd like to move forward or if you have any questions." At 5:51 PM, I replied, "Is that one spring or both sides?" At 5:52, I received an auto-reply stating the office had closed. So how could I have scheduled an appointment when the office CLOSED before I could schedule a time?" Further, on July 10, 5:00 PM, approximately 6 hours after leaving a review, I received an email from an AM PM employee stating this was a mix-up. So how can you tell me I am wrong when you're own employee admits this was a mix-up? Further, your employee's email states" as we're committed to resolving the issue and making things right." yet, your response here on YELP is to double down and blame me? Also, how can you say I requested "urgent" when you're own invoice says "non-urgent" I literally have text messages, emails, and invoices that disprove your response. And yet rather than apologize and try to make this better, you want to BLAME me??? You're funny. ***2nd edit to Response Below*** Friday afternoon, July 11th, 1:44 pm I received the most delightful email from AM PM employee Jesenia Romo, who went through the recording of my initial phone call line by line and confirmed all of the facts in my review below. Thank you, Jesenia, for confirming all the facts!! I left nothing out. ---- Orignal review: SCAM!! DO NOT CALL!!! I called for a quote. They asked to send some photos. I did. A few hours later, I got a text quote. I replied to the text with a follow-up question and got an auto-response that they were closed for the day. OK. The next morning, a tech shows up (I wasn't home) to do the work, even though we had NO appointment and I NEVER agreed to move forward. The technician called me, I told him we had no appointment, and left. A while later, their office called me, and when I explained we never scheduled an appointment and never agreed to any service, the guy started to argue with me! He claimed to know all about my door (duh, I send photos) and they had me in their system (Ok, so what?). But he would never acknowledge that we never agreed on a time. When I got home, they sent me a bill for $305 for the technician to come out and be refused!! It states right on the invoice that I never ordered their service, but they demand I pay them anyway!! Under California Civil Code § 1550, a valid and enforceable contract requires mutual consent. No such consent occurred here. There was no agreement to perform services, no date set, and no work authorized. I have the text messages to prove this. Additionally, California Civil Code § 1584 states that silence or inaction does not constitute acceptance of an offer unless explicitly agreed to in writing. You had no basis to dispatch a technician to my property without consent. Under California Business & Professions Code § 17500, it is unlawful to make misleading representations in connection with a sale or service. Representing that a service was scheduled--when none was--may constitute false or misleading business practice. Finally, under California Civil Code § 1689, I reserve the right to rescind any implied agreement based on mistake, misrepresentation, or lack of mutual assent.

Had assumed all these years that our house security was adequate but recently was horrified to experience that it very much was not, and more importantly, that the folks at Valley Alarm were not trained properly, made a ton of mistakes, and made for a very stressful holiday. The day before Thanksgiving, we received text alerts of a burglary - nothing else. No idea if this was a fake text or anything, as it provided minimal information (the title: BURGLARY) . Everything that transpired after was across the board an extremely negative experience: 1. I had to call Valley Alarm to get more info. Each time I called, I was on hold for at least five minutes - terrifying when you've just received a text saying BURGLARY. To add insult to injury, the hold music is an advertisement for VA saying that "agents will be on the phone in seconds." 2. I spoke to multiple agents, and none provided sufficient information or answer any of my questions adequately in a way that would reassure me. 3. Horrifyingly, I had to be the one to tell VA to CALL THE POLICE. They were supposed to have called me first, and immediately dispatched the police. Neither happened. In fact, when I called the first time, the agent was a very blase "oh, do you want us to call the police?" Uh YES. And then once that happened, they provided zero follow up information. I eventually found it easier to call my police station directly, and speak to the police via my neighbors. 4. ALL OF THIS WAS A FALSE ALARM. Valley Alarm NEVER provided an explanation of why we had received an alarm. The neighbors never heard the alarm, and when we had someone check the house, there was no sign of anything amiss. 5. After all of this (and before we were able to have someone enter our house) I called VA repeatedly to make sure that our alarm system was still actively armed. Every person gave me a non-answer in the form of double negatives: "well, if nobody has gone in to disarm the alarm, we can only assume it is still armed." Not only was this absolutely not reassuring, and felt like they were hedging their bets, it turned out to be completely incorrect - they just straight up had no way to tell, blaming us for having an old system (which they had never told us to change) and for not performing routine checks (which they had never told us to do). 6. 3x I had their "service technicians" call me to "provide more info" because the agents at the call center were proving to be completely useless. The first time a technician called, she literally started the phone conversation with "what do you want." I was never assured that our house was okay and that the alarm system was still working because none of these agents or technicians could provide straightforward information. I am just horrified with how badly this entire experience went across the board. Valley Alarm has admitted that there was a lot of human error after they looked into this experience, and I have never been more certain or faster in changing companies. I have a new system that provides me with way more information, and doesn't keep me on hold to speak to an agent. Absolutely stay away from Valley Alarm.

Well for us, Two Brothers was our third quote, and the staff were all not only extremely knowledgeable, yet also attentive and friendly. They were patient with me with all my many questions and answered without frustration. We could tell that they did the work with pride versus just making another sale. We'll definitely recommend to our neighbors, friends, and family.
