First floor has an amazing collection of artist created items from their studios. Glass, paintings, textile, pottery, jewelry. Many one of a kind. This gift shop has regular open hours on weekends and weekdays. Check their hours. I loved peeking into the individual artists studios, most of the artists were present for this open studio event. Meeting and asking about pieces is special. I went back later in the week to purchase a small gift. Wonderful items and selection and prices were reasonable. Priced as low as $5.00 to 1000's. 5 floors with much to see, accessible by stairs and elevator.

Today ( this weekend) is a special one with a holiday art market. Lots to see. Most of the artists were in their studios with some giving demos of their work. We were a small group & spent several hours visiting . I was so inspired! We did a short coffee break at the lovely place across from The Loading Dock gallery. The coffee fresh & excellent. There was also a food truck outside that looked interesting . Im looking at returning on the next, " first Saturday" because there's just so much to see!

She…read moreshowed me all the different kinds of things she makes in her studio - it's filled with lovely plates and bowls and pieces for jewelry. She then explained the different kinds of glass, showed me how to cut glass, and answered all of my MANY questions. With her help, I assembled what will become a glass bowl - a sheet of clear glass with colored glass placed on top of it in a pattern - she has LOTS of different kinds and colors of glass. Then I placed another sheet of clear glass on top. Erica carefully placed it in the kiln where it stayed for 30 hours! She sent me photos of it when it came out - it's a flat solid sheet, and it's gorgeous! Now she'll place it in a mold and put it in the kiln again to heat just enough for it to slump into a bowl shape. I can't wait!

My Experience Selling Paintings to Sandy Sereno: A Cautionary Note for Collectors…read more Several years ago, I purchased multiple original paintings from Sandy Sereno, investing thousands of dollars in her work. Later, Sandy Sereno expressed interest in buying back these paintings. We reached an agreement where she would repurchase them, but when it came time to fulfill her side of the contract, she breached the agreement -- she was only to pay pennies on the dollar I paid her. I am sharing this so that other collectors, artists, and dealers can be cautious when entering into buyback or resale agreements with this artist. In my experience, she did not honor the terms we had agreed upon.
