I recently brought my two dogs to Alyssa Rose Photography for a photo session and my husband and I thrilled with the results. The photos are beautiful! From start to finish, Alyssa was great to work with. I submitted an inquiry through her website, and received a response I think within an hour. I asked her A LOT of questions -- I had never hired a photographer before for a studio session and didn't know what to expect. She answered my numerous questions and emails all very promptly and was super friendly. Excellent customer service. I ended up not being able to afford the session at the time, as it was the holidays and I needed to buy Christmas gifts. Alyssa reached out to me when she was running a special for the pet photography. I was impressed that she followed up with me to offer such a great special -- it was a big discount off the normal session fee, and I was even more impressed to find out she was donating the session fee to an animal welfare organization. When we finally did the photo shoot, my dogs were crazy. They just would not sit still and calm down, so I was skeptical at how the photos would turn out. But Alyssa showed just how amazing of a photographer she is because the photos are amazing and you cannot tell that my dogs were hyper and crazy that day. She captured them looking happy and playful. She offers a lot of print options, from smaller, easily affordable prints to the higher end. Very easy to work with, *beautiful* photos of my dogs, they were spome of my favorites, and I get their pictures taken a LOT by professional photographers - we are lucky to have her in this area. I drove an hour and a half one way to get there, and then the same trip two weeks later to look at the photos, and it was worth the drive. She was patient with the dogs, even though it had been very warm out all week (ok, it had been TOO HOT all week), so it was a little warm in the studio for them because they have so much hair, and the dogs were a little bent out of shape with the long drive anyway, but she got them to get sparkle in their eyes, and a spring in their step, and they looked very nice! read more

I went to Alyssa a few weeks ago, and I had some problems with her. First her packages are overpriced and I can't believe her attitude is so cocky. I posed for my shoot and the shoot was way too fast for it to be professional. I don't know if that is a hurry but it tells me that she doesn't want me to be here and she needs to be out of here asap. I'm a first time mom and had no idea what to expect for my son's 6 month portraits photoshoot. When I booked the appointment, Alyssa explained the process, answered all my questions, and gave me some great advice for planning outfits and poses. The photoshoot was at my house at 9:00am. She arrived on time, the setup was quick and easy, and she brought a bag of blankets & props. About 30 minutes into the session my son started getting fussy, and without hesitation, she offered to take a break so I could feed him and put him down for a short nap. She came back about an hour later and finished the session. We scheduled to meet at her studio the following weekend to view the pictures. I was so worried that she didn't get any good shots and we were going to have to schedule another session, but to my surprise I was absolutely wrong! Highly, highly recommended. My fiancé (now wife) and I booked Alyssa for our wedding a couple months ago. We could not have made a better choice. She was everything we could have possibly wanted in a photographer. The photos turned out absolutely incredible. In fact, we're having a hard time narrowing them enough to fit into a coffee table book. In addition to the great photos, Alyssa was a dream to work with. She made sure to get all the shots we specifically wanted, plus she had a great eye for some other opportunities that popped up at our location (Seattle University and the Lake Union Café.) She was patient when she needed to be, and assertive when we needed to get the group back on track. (I imagine she learned this "herding cats" approach from some of her pet photo sessions.) Would like to make a comment but have not heard or seen from Alyssa or her husband since several weeks after the event. The event was 3 months ago. Can only contact them by email as the phone goes to voice mail. Email responses are they are swamped and getting to the pictures. Was hoping for the summer pictures of our events before winter but maybe performing events is beyond their capabilities. They were very friendly during the events and seemed very professional. However, as nice as anyone can be the ultimate grade comes from the product itself, for which there has not been any pictures seen or produced. We paid them their money 3 months ago??? may need to seek additional avenues to get our money back, but have lost out on memories of our child's baptism and our wedding vow renewals. It is not about the several thousand dollars, we just want the pictures of these events. Perhaps we didn't pay enough? read more

My dog would give Alyssa 5 bones if he could type. We signed up for a photo shoot at the PAWS walk and think it's awesome that she supports local animal rescue groups. She was great at engaging my little guy and I can't believe how perfectly her photos captured his personality. When I saw the proofs I just kept saying over & over, "Yes! I've seen that look a million times but never caught it on film!" Gushing ensues every time I show people the photos. I also brought my foster dog along and he was totally problematic - his back was shaved, his fur was wet from rain, and his ears were greasy from medication. Alyssa still managed to take some totally adorable pictures of him that looked great and showed off his goofy personality. The only down side was trying to choose which photos to buy on a budget because they were all cute! read more

We hired Alyssa as the photographer for our July wedding. She and her second shooter, Aaron, did an amazing job! The photos are gorgeous and they are such fun, warm, positive people. Pros: -Alyssa and Aaron bring a very positive attitude to what they do. Due to another vendor, we had a rough start to the day and ran behind, even having to scrap one hour of photos. Alyssa and Aaron weren't flustered for a minute. They were so great at helping us get over that and get back to enjoying our special day. -Alyssa was very flexible about how we wanted to structure our day, but also gave us her advice as a seasoned professional. She helped me put together the wedding day timeline - both setting it up in advance and getting it back on track after it was derailed by another vendor. -Alyssa runs her business like a true professional. From the presentation of her wedding package pricelist to her availability leading up to the wedding to her delivery of the promised photos, everything was tasteful and organized. -Alyssa and Aaron had great ideas for backgrounds, shots, and poses. They work so well as a team. -Alyssa and Aaron were very thorough. They were careful to get every photo on our long and complicated shotlist. They were also very attentive to details, from the great details shots (e.g., rings, invites, escort cards) to going the extra mile and bringing umbrellas. -Alyssa and Aaron blended into the wedding well. It's a pet peeve of mine when the photographer is more visible during the ceremony than the bride and groom. Alyssa and Aaron got great pictures without ever being in the way. -Alyssa and Aaron were also just plain fun to have around! We enjoyed having them at the wedding and were sad to see them leave, even though they stayed late. -The photos are beautiful! We love them. -Very reasonable rates and nice packages. Cons: -None!
