They had installed plexiglass, however the staff continually leaned over the plexiglass and walked around the hallways without a mask. Further, their masks were cloth based, not medical grade. This is a place for healthcare delivery. The doctors, nurses and office managers should be more vigilant with their staff, especially during a pandemic in one of the worst hit states in the country. I expect better. I recommend staying away, at least during the pandemic, especially those that are high risk for COVID.

I developed a UTI and called the office and requested an appt or medication to be sent to my pharmacy. UTI's are not something to slack around with. The longer you go, the more painful it gets. When i spoke to a staff member, i was told that i could come in the following day after 3pm. Now, i had a choice. Go to the ER and get medication or ask the staff member to reconsider this as an emergency because i needed medication.... She said, 'Tomorrow afternoon is the best we can do." That was it. When you treat patients like this, it's time to fire the doctor and find another one. Believe me, I emailed the doc and told him exactly what transpired.. All the staff had to do was call in my medication to my pharmacy and i would have been out of pain, by evening. But the staff member didn't take the doctor into consideration and the possibility of the doctor being fired. Dr. McKenzie needs to have his staff retrained, or replaced. It's bad for his business.

She scheduled me for the next day appointment, which was very helpful to me. I cannot remember her name, but from the moment I walked in the door, she was welcoming and got my forms together super-fast. Doctor Sandler has exceptional communication skills, and patient-centered care. He was very attentive to my concerns, and his explanations were accessible and relatable. Dr. Degan's front desk/reservations staff accepted my appointment for two months in advance and about a month prior to the appointment, I received a call from Stephanie at the front desk and she left a few words of a voicemail and hung up. I called the office back the following day and Stephanie answered and thanked me for calling back and said that they needed to cancel my appointment as Dr. Degan had 3 surgeries come up the day of my appointment and I would need to come the day before. I already had scheduled time off from work and worked my schedule around theirs for the appointment. I asked Stephanie if I could see another doctor in office that day and they just bill it back as Dr. Degan since they're in the same office and Stephanie said their billing team would not allow them do so. By seeing Dr. Degan, I would have only had to pay a $45 copay, by seeing another doctor, I would have had to have pay a lot more (20% of the total charge because I had not met my insurance deductible - so this would have made a big difference on what I would have had to pay out of pocket. My insurance advocate I had with United HealthCare told me while I was on hold that Dr. Blom's office was trying to "pull a fast one" to charge me a lot more that I didn't need to pay. I asked Stephanie at the Front Desk to connect me with her manager for discussion and Stephanie said her manager was not available as she was about to get onto a call with the corporate office but said she apologized but there was nothing else she could do and if I didn't like it I could find another doctor's office. Stephanie wished me and United HealthCare a good day and ended the call and later canceled my appointment. I felt the experience was extremely rude by the front desk staff and the front desk manager and I don't recommend this office to my worst enemy.
