Came down to cornwall for the weekend and ended up here for dinner on our first night in Truro.
The hotel itself is beautiful, an old convent with gorgeous features and lots of space as could only be expected. The bar and restaurant area are very modern and light with plenty of seating for large and small groups.
The bar was well stocked and the staff were lovely. They had more gin on offer than I even knew existed !
The food was lovely. Menu had a great selection of meat and seafood with a few vegetarian choices. We had a selection of starters which everyone loved, I had the pork belly which was cooked absolutely perfectly. For my main I had the duck breast, and no word of a lie, this was probably the best tasting and most well cooked piece of duck I have ever had. For dessert I had the deconstructed peanut butter cheesecake which consisted of various ice creams and peanutty goods which again was lovely, but we all know Cornish ice cream is the best in England !
I would definitely come back to the restaurant, fairly pricey but the food and setting are both worth it. Only 2 mins walk from Truro centre too ! 5* read more
