I broke one of my molars while having lunch about 3 years ago (upper right side) and had it completely removed. I have gone to 3 different dental clinics to see if I could get an implant or bridge done to get my full smile back without worrying people looking at my missing molar. The problem that I encountered on all 3 dental clinics is that they were telling me that I needed other dental work done before doing the molar dental work I needed. I was fed up with the same answer. My co-worker recommended Dr. Alvarez and said that he was an excellent dentist. I thought that Dr. Alvarez would tell me the same thing as the other dentists had. I told my wife and she took my mother-in-law since she needed some serious dental work done. My wife and I are very satisfied of the excellent work he did for my mother-in-law. I went to see Dr Alvarez and I was very impressed of how clean his clinic is and all of the high tech dental equipment he has and the best thing is the excellent service he provided me. He not only gave my full smile back by doing a bridge work on my missing molar, Dr. Alvarez took time away from his family on a Sunday to get it done. I am so happy of the results. That's what I call superb service. My family (wife and 3 children) and I are all now Dr. Alvarez patients and it is a shame that I did not meet him before. I strongly recommend Dr. Alvarez to anyone. He is the best! read more

I was looking for a Dentist in the area and I came across Dr. Alvarez Office in sterling VA. So I did some research and a lot of his patients said he was a great Dentist so I decided to take a chance so I made a appointment. I got there in time and the receptionist greeted me and asked me to sign in the computer because it was my first time coming in, she asked me to fill in some paperwork, it only took me 3 minutes to get it done. Once I was done, she asked me to wait and it only took her two minutes for her to call me in. Dr.Alvarez greeted me and asked me what were some of my concerns and told me not to worry that he would go over my X-rays with me and explain to me what needed to get done. I told him I was pregnant and he asked me to call my Doctor so I can get some confirmation before he goes on with the X-rays. my x-ray were done and he explained the procedures to me very well and he also answered all of my questions. Doing the procedures he was very patient with me and would stop and ask me if I was okay. I had a wonderful experience and I would recommend you to check this place out. Let me just tell you, it a new place so you won't have to wait long and everything is done with new technology so you may be amazed at how quick and easy your time goes by. read more

I had a great first experience at Dr. Alvarez's office. As my boyfriend and I came into the office for our appointment, Dr. Alvarez gave us a warm welcome and asked for my information so he could check me in. He did all the paperwork on the computer which took him less than 5 minutes and then had me go to the back so I could get my teeth cleaned. I was amazed at how quick that was. Right before starting anything, he thoroughly explained what I was seeing on the screens and he also answered all of my questions without a problem. Also, the massaging chair was just great to have while getting my teeth cleaned. The office might not be huge, but it is equipped with all the latest technology and is very welcoming. I had a great experience with my first visit and would recommend this place to everyone. I'd like to also mention that I made my appointment a month before, and have received 4 text messages throughout the month as a reminder which included the date and the time. It did not bother me to receive them. I actually liked to be reminded because there were so many other things happening, and I could have forgotten about it. Overall my experience at the office was great and I could not be any happier. Thank you! read more

I have been to see Dr. Alvarez on two occasions. My first experience with Dr. Alvarez was after being on vacation last summer. I had to see a beach dentist because I was away from home and received a crown that gave me issues following it's placement. Dr. Alvarez removed and replaced the troublesome crown. It fit perfectly and has been very comfortable for over a year. Recently, I broke a front tooth and needed immediate care. It was a relief that Dr. Alvarez expedited my appointment and saw me the same day. First, he fitted a temporary crown to four front teeth and replaced within a week a gorgeous set of crowns that are absolutely perfect. Second, he addressed a wisdom tooth and lost filling. He explained the processes empathetically and professionally. The crowns were placed pain free and recovery has been the same. I did however have one wisdom tooth extraction but the process was pain free and a slightly longer recovery than the crowns. I would recommend Dr. Alvarez to anyone. I love my new smile and could not be happier with the care and attention Dr. Alvarez gave to my smile. I am so thankful for Dr. Alvarez. read more

Dr. Alvarez is great! He fixed a crown that other dentists were unable to. I had been trying to get it fixed for 2 years with no success. Fortunately, I found Dr. Alvarez who was able to fix it in just 2 visits, not to mention it looks completely natural. Since then, he is our family dentist. Dr. Alvarez answers any questions I may have and explains his procedures thoroughly. He is always careful to make the procedures as painless as possible. He genuinely cares about his clients, and thats something thats very difficult to find these days. Not to mention his office is very nice. They have screens where you are able to see your procedure getting done! The seats even massage you while you're getting treated and makes you feel relaxed. This is a top-notch dental office! Another thing I love about Alvarez dental is that they have great availability when it comes to scheduling appointments. You don't have to wait forever to be seen. The staff is very professional, friendly and welcoming. They also speak Spanish. I would 100% recommend him! read more

Dr. Alvarez is amazing! He is very knowledgeable and skillful! His office is beautiful with amazing technology. I love that his dental chair has a massage chair feature that is very helpful in calming any nerves. I am a relatively new patient and I first came to his office for tooth pain on an old filling. He informed me that there was decay underneath my old filling and he cleaned it all up and restored the tooth to brand new! He has a very gentle touch and my filling was painless! He is now my GO TO dentist and I love that as a dental student he explains everything to me in detail. I also clench my teeth really bad at night and he recommended I get a mouth guard to prevent any tooth damage. The process was very fast! He quickly scanned my teeth and my bite so that my night guard would perfectly fit and it was sent to a lab. I received my night guard very fast in a few weeks and it fits perfect! Dr. Alvarez really cares for his patients and really implements preventative care. read more

Dr. Alvarez was my prosthodontist for many years before he became my regular dentist. I have a couple of tooth implants, and he was responsible for fitting the implants. They're all holding up well. He also fitted me with a crown a while back, downselling me from a root canal, it's been nearly two years and everything is fine. I also cracked a front tooth in a fall nearly a year ago, and he repaired that, too. I don't notice any problems. That's what it's all about. This is my first Yelp review ever. Dr. Alvarez was fixing my teeth before he had an independent practice. I wrote it because his work has allowed me to keep a (mostly) full set of teeth that don't give me problems. Dr. Alvarez also has a new ultrasound machine to do deep scaling when he cleans teeth, and that makes the entire process easy and fast. Which reminds me, I'm overdue for another cleaning... read more

I was just tagging along with my husband for his appointment with Dr. Alvarez. When he learned that I was concerned about my "aging" crowns, even though I had no appointment, he kindly made the time right then to examine my crowns, confirm my concerns and even began the replacement process so that my husband and I could coordinate our appointments in order to minimize our travel to his office, which is some distance from our home. I cannot say enough about his professional skills, gentle touch, pleasant personality and concern for his patients' comfort and understanding of every step of the procedure. He was very highly recommended by our family dentist. I absolutely concur in that recommendation! read more

I went to see Dr.Alvarez two times. The first time was for a general check up and cleaning, and the second time for fillings. I have no doubt why he got five star reviews. I felt relax and didn't feel any pain or uncomfortability during my fillings. He used an Isodry for suction it was really convenient. I never felt worried about anything. He fixed my front tooth that I chipped with fillings. It is pretty neat and looks like a real tooth and makes me more confident to smile again. Thank you so much for a good dental experience today. I hope to see you in the future. read more

Dr. Alverez was fantastic! He came highly recommended from our family dentist. As an engineer, I found him to be very professional and skilled at his craft. He was very personable and went into great detail about my procedure. His equipment was state of the art technology and I was very impressed. He was gentle and caring during the process and he made me feel like part of his family. Doctor Alvarez is one of the best dentist's I know. He is kind hearted, he thoroughly listens to what you need and tries his hardest to come up with the best solution for you, and most of all he is honest. I am truly thankful. I 100% recommend Dr. Alvarez. You will definitely be in good hands. read more

Dr. Alvarez did a great job with my crowns. There was no unwarranted discomfort during the procedure. I felt like Dr. Alvarez took his time and made sure that the crowns were professionally done and looked real. I am really pleased with the result and will be seeing him for my future dental needs. Also, the technology used in this office is very state of the art. I was impressed with the 3D modeling they used to to get a view of my teeth and ultimately help make my crown. read more
