Loving the Alto Kitchen & bar with it so amazing baked camembert cheese with berries and what do you call amazing Brussel Sprouts and Pork Belly. Taste pleasantly surprised with how beautiful is going down with the Malbec from Argentina and I would highly recommend kitchen to have a fantastic time at Panorama Mountain resort.

Exactly what you'd expect from an attached hotel resto…read more Given how hard it is to get deliveries up to radium I cut them slack :) also, it appears one of the cooking staff didn't show the evening we came by and given that, the staff did admirably well. The pizza is thinner crust, good yeasty flavour and chew. Ask for Parmesan and it'll fill out the flavours on your pizza. Fish n chips are beer battered, with the same fries you'd find at Costco. Not gourmet/high end. But if you've just rolled in after 8hrs of driving with the hangries, it's good enough!

Servers know NOTHING about the menu and are all but absent from the front of house Chef can't season a meal to save his life ZERO attention to detail ------------------------ I can't begin to describe how awful this restaurant is, but let me try. I took my wife to Radium for our anniversary, and I asked the hotel concierge to make romantic dinner reservations for us. The package I bought also included a complimentary breakfast, so the idea was to eat at this establishment twice (BIG mistake). When we got to the restaurant, there was no servers on the floor, and no hostess at the front desk. They had been open all day, and the place was empty.. I suppose this should have been our first hint. We seated ourselves, and when the server finally arrived, she brought us waters in the ancient plastic cups. This would probably be OK if we were at Smitty's, but we were not, we were supposedly eating "Fine Italian Cuisine". Every time the server came to the table (drinks, orders, etc), we inevitably had questions about the meals... she had NO answers, and had to ask the chef about everything. Also, many items that we wanted to eat (Items that WERE on the menu), were unavailable, and we had to make alternate decisions (this should have been our second hint). When the complementary bread arrived, we were given re-heated rolls and plastic single-use butter containers instead of a nice whipped butter dish. With the bread, we ordered some calamari, and when it arrived, it was terribly undercooked and quite disgusting. Dinner arrives and out comes my wife's $32, 8oz, medium rare steak... it was well done, completely unseasoned, and dry as chalk. WHO PAYS $32 FOR CHALK??? My chicken was average, I ate it and paid for it, but we sent the steak back. We went back the next morning for breakfast, simply because I had the voucher and it was free... well not quite free. The concierge told me that it was a complementary breakfast, but gave me a $25 voucher... this voucher will NEVER cover a breakfast for two when you're charging $3 for a coffee and an average of $10 / plate. ANYWAYS, against my better judgement we went for breakfast, and again, everything my wife asked for was UNAVAILABLE... at this point she was DONE. No more eating, just get out of her face. I chose to try the soft basted eggs, toast, hash browns, and bacon. The hash browns were completely unseasoned (just like the steak from the night before), and the eggs were like slime... I actually gagged a little when I saw them. Now I have NEVER sent a meal back in a restaurant, so sending my wife's steak one night and my eggs the next morning was very out of the ordinary for me. In conclusion, this is the last restaurant on the planet that I would recommend you eat at. In fact, our server from the first night even suggested that we eat elsewhere...

We came here on a whim to find a nice place to eat as we were on our way to Lake Louise. We walked around town to find a place to eat and my wife loves Italian, so we tried to walk in at about 6pm. Luckily for us, there was an open seat (reservation are highly recommended.. it was packed). We were greeted by the waiter who gave us the choice of sparkling or still water. Fancy schmancy. We got the still house water. The place was packed, full, and a bit loud, but also romantic given the atmosphere and the views. Good place to take a date, but not a good place if you wanted a private booth/moment. I ordered the seafood linguine, and my wife ordered the spicy rigatoni alla vodka. We also ordered the little gem caesar to share, and she also go the coffee martini for her drink. I got soda. The caesar came out and it was one of the best caesars I had. It was presented by having two baby heads of romaine lettuce covered with caesar dressing. Very tasty and creamy. Very very good! Next time, I am going to order one for just myself! Only eating one baby romaine head left me wanting more! After the salad, the pastas came out and the seafood linguine was remarkable! Presented as a bundle of linguini with seafood on the sides, all covered in white wine/clam sauce. One of THE BEST seafood linguines I have ever tried! My wife's spicy rigatoni was spicy and had a kick (I am Thai so take that for what it's worth). My wife thought it was a bit too spicy for her, but overall the dish was meh. Reminds me of the pasta alla vodka at Cheesecake Factory, but without the sausage. I do believe if there was an option to add sausage, the dish would've been 100x better. The dish just got bland the more you ate it. And because of this, I ended up eating the rigatoni, and my wife ate the linguini lol. Just kidding.. kinda. We shared our plates :) I highly recommend this place. The rigatoni was nothing special, but everything else was spectacular. We were even contemplating going back there on our drive home, but it opened at 4pm that day, and that was too late on our schedule to wait. Nevertheless, we'll be back again!

Below are the dishes we ordered: scallop crudo -- absolutely delicious! The scallops were so fresh and the sauce was so yummy. Loved the crispies on top (potato?). This was my favorite dish from our visit! winter squash pizza -- this sounded so unique so we had to try it! It was flavorful, and the star was definitely the crust!! The pizza crust is the best I've ever had; it was perfectly airy and light! rigatoni carbonara -- the rigatoni was a bit undercooked and the guanciale was overcooked. Overall, we did not enjoy this dish and would not recommend it. We were a bit disappointed about the pasta but enjoyed the other two dishes we ordered!

My wife and I went for dinner on our last night in Banff, and it was one of those meals you walk away from genuinely impressed. On the advice of our server, David, we started with the focaccia bread and meatballs. Both were spot-on--simple, flavourful, and exactly what you'd hope for from an Italian kitchen that takes its craft seriously. David clearly knew the menu well and didn't steer us wrong. For mains, we had the Lobster Carbonara and the Lasagna. The Carbonara was rich and full of flavour with a generous amount of lobster, and the Lasagna had that classic, comforting depth you want--no shortcuts, just solid cooking done right.. We learned Chef Tony, Who is of Italian heritage, learned much of his skills from his Nona. What really stood out was the service. David made the whole experience easygoing and enjoyable. Professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful without being over the top. He's the kind of server who elevates a night out simply by being good at what he does. David told us he had been in the area for 15 years and his level of service shows just that. Overall, the food was phenomenal--exactly the quality you expect from a Fairmont property--and the atmosphere matched it. Castillo Italiana delivered a great evening for both of us. Highly recommend! To top it off, the food came out fast, fresh, and hot. I was exhausted and a bit hangry, so I couldn't fully appreciate the taste of everything we ordered. That said, the dishes that stood out were the seasoned lamb chops, the big prawns, and the fried calamari were all very tasty. Their special lobster carbonara was disappointing, although the lobster itself was good. By the time the food was served that evening, after a full afternoon of activities, it was more about refueling than indulging.
