He even helped me review my past 5 years tax returns to make sure they were filed correctly. Needless to say, he spotted a few mistakes I've made from the past year tax returns as I prepared them from Turbo tax online and through some CPAs my former employer filed when I was employed at Cisco. He was able to help me prepare an amendment tax return to get back additional refund I supposed to get from the error I created. I'm now confident to say I have found the right accountant to prepare all my tax returns in the future! Mike was also very helpful in providing me advice and assisting in setting up a business with my sister in Santa Clara, CA. He made sure we were taken care of in every step from purchasing the business to setting up the business, bank accounts, payroll, and purchasing land, and taking care of every minor detail in the process. He is one of the most well connected people I have met. His connections are all over the globe. I have worked closely with him and his staff and have gotten to know his family very well over the past 4 years, and I can tell you that you will never meet such knowledgable and lovely people. A huge thank you Mike and your team for constantly providing me advice and counseling over the phone without ever charging me a dime.

Today I had my meeting with Arika and made the switch to work with her. She reminds me a lot of myself. I love how she wrote things on the white board and explained them to me and let me make my decision based on that. She reminded me of my 1st financial advisor, who I loved, unfortunately she retired. Anyway she did the same thing. I think I enjoy working with women better than men. I just feel a stronger connection. Anyway, tonight, I'm excited, about my future. My current financial advisor told me I was a bit behind on my retirement and that when the day comes I may need to move to someplace less expensive. Wait...whaaaat, my mortgage is less than $1,500, I'm not sure where I could go anywhere in the US and have a less expensive mortgage. Anyway I felt the connection to Arika immediately, tonight I feel relief and hopeful. I loved hearing how I've done a good job preparing for my future. Bravo to me. From the very first interaction at her dinner seminar, Arika was kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable, which encouraged them to make an appointment later that week. During their appointment, she took the time to truly listen to my parents' goals and concerns, explained everything clearly (without pressure or jargon), and made sure they fully understood their options before moving forward. Her ability to break down complex financial concepts into plain, reassuring explanations made all the difference. What stood out most was how much she genuinely cared. She wasn't just selling a product--she was focused on protecting their money, minimizing risk, and importantly, giving them peace of mind. My parents felt respected, supported, and confident in their decisions, which is priceless. If you're looking for a financial advisor who is trustworthy, highly competent, compassionate, and truly has your best interests at heart, we wholeheartedly recommend Arika Larson. J. Lee

Before he was…read morethere, I was very unhappy with my experience and on the verge of leaving when he took over my account. Since he's left, I made the decision to leave the Marcel Dore agency, I am still with State Farm and a happy State Farm customer, I just chose to request to change agents. Here's why: When they want to sell me something, the agency has called me upwards of five times a day. I had the same conversation with the same sales representative within a 30 minute time. And he completely forgot he spoke to me. That is how high volume this agency is. When I had a question regarding my daughter going off to college and any production in coverage or discount that may be available, I left a message for Stephen my new representative twice and never got a returned call after waiting three weeks. It took an angry voicemail for him to finally return my call and send me an email, never acknowledging that he failed to return my prior to messages. When I finally got Stephen on the phone, he proceeded to "educate" me, explaining that I've never met or heard from Marcel because he's so successful. He never has to work anymore and that's why he hires people to do the work for him. He didn't apologize or acknowledge that he never bothered to return my call, but he explained to me that I'm always welcome to log onto the app or call the 800 number. What is the point of having an agent and one who apparently never works if I have to constantly go to an app or call an 800 number and hold when I have a general question about my policy and I thought the purpose of the agency was to be available and have a local connection. Stephen also explained that they have thousands of customers and that they're incredibly busy when explaining why I could never get someone on the phone and would always have to wait between four hours and three weeks for a call back. I've decided to continue my relationship with State Farm and move to an agency that has three agents in it all who answer the phone during business hours. I'm also switching to an agency with women. I find it incredibly weird that in the nine years I was a client of Marcel Dore's agency, there was never a single woman working there that I saw or interacted. Thank you to Stephen for educating me in the ways Marcel Dore's agency feels about their client relationships. I am really excited to have my business transferred to an agency that values their clients and relationships.
