He then waited around the office taking a phone call and we sat on the hot shuttle for 25 minutes until he finally drove us to the terminal on the way home. Overall: just don't book Avis here. We ended up with a Tahoe, which was too big but the only thing that was available bigger than a Sentra, and had to pay the upcharge. If you return the car before they open, there is a drop box for your keys before you catch your return Frontier flight.

Prices are not higher than alternative sites, as it appears the county and state have not seen fit to add on charges for using the airport for outside business. I needed a large people/luggage mover for folks coming in from Asia. My wheels couldn't handle all of that. Booked a Ford Expedition through Priceline and everything went smoothly. I went to the desk to let them know I was there, and 10 minutes later, a new and clean Expo was waiting right outside. No pressure to take insurance or anything else. As the manager said, "If you wanted those extras you would have booked them already through Priceline." Appreciated his logic. Brought it back the next evening. The rental lot is about 100 yards from the terminal, so walking is required, but that wasn't a problem. The woman on duty on the return was just as friendly and practical as her comrade. I was asked about gas and miles, and handed her the keys. No sweat.
