This review has been a long time coming, and I apologize to Alteria for the delay. I have a vintage Chanel raincoat (fabric is viscose, poly- etc.) that was white but a dingy white/ivory, and it had been stained purple/navy in random spots from being hung too close to dyed leathers. I thought a complete dye job to black would be best for the raincoat, but who do you trust with vintage designer items that are kind of personally priceless, right? So with some Googling and reading reviews, I found Alteria, inquired about services, prices, and sent pictures of the raincoat. Marisela was very helpful and explained the entire process to me via email correspondence. I insured and shipped it and then waited. Marisela let me know when she received the item. She let me know they would remove the buttons and labels, etc. and there would be a tailor charge. I approved all that and was happy that they would be able to dye it. (I was worried because the fabric is "viscose" poly-/raincoat fabric, which typically repels water.) I inquired about where the raincoat was in the process after a couple weeks, and then I was sent images. Then I freaked out because the raincoat in the images didn't look like my original raincoat. I thought I was bamboozled, got snippy and rude. Marisela stayed calm and professional while I had a complete meltdown. She sent more pictures, and explained to me that the buttons and labels hadn't been replaced yet, so it would look different, and it really and truly did. So much so that I didn't recognize it. When I realized my mistake in jumping the gun and that the second set of pictures were indeed of my vintage Chanel raincoat, I calmed down, was embarrassed, and apologized for my behavior. Marisela continued to be calm and professional and reassured me that she understood. A couple weeks later, I received my raincoat, and the dye job is FANTASTIC! Not only does it look brand new, because it's a now a black color, I feel I can wear it more often. The tailoring job was medium, as one of the buttons on a pocket was sewn through the pocket, making the pocket unusable (fortunately I can sew and will fix this myself). Overall, it was the dye job I was most worried about, and Alteria (Marisela et al) did a phenomenal job with that. I would recommend them to anyone. The prices are reasonable. The shipping and process times are as expected. Just be prepared for a drastic change if you're going from a light color to a dark color. The only feeling I can liken it to is when you've had long hair your whole life and then get it all chopped off. It's a lot to take in. And thank you so much to Marisela for her patience and professionalism toward me. Alteria is a great company at dyeing fabrics and I would definitely use them again in a heartbeat.

I was so excited to work with another woman-owned business to create a custom dyed suit to wear as I officiated my best friend's wedding. Marisela was quick to respond when discussing details like the suit fabric and color selection, because I bought a new white suit specifically to dye. Unfortunately once I sent my suit, I didn't hear back from Marisela for months. I checked in with her a month before the event, because I had sent her the suit in January, and by March I still hadn't received any updates. She told me she was aware of my deadline (originally communicated to her in November) and would have it ready. That deadline came and passed. A week after I was told I would get an update, after calling, emailing, and reaching out over multiple social media platforms, I heard nothing. Marisela finally sent an email with the first round of dyeing and suggested a second round because it was not the color we had agreed on. At this point there was a week before the event and I was left with no option but to hope that it worked out the second time around. It did not. The end product is splotchy and incredibly uneven. Marisela shipped the suit three days after she said she would, causing a lot of incredibly unnecessary stress and cost as the suit had to be overnighted in order to arrive in time. Additionally, I sent this suit in new and unaltered, so there was no time to hem or take in the suit and the color was very uneven. I gave this company months to dye my pieces with a guarantee that my color would be achieved because I had specifically purchased a more expensive, white suit brand new that is now unwearable. I definitely think that this project came out so poorly because it was rushed. When I asked for a refund because of the horrible end product and customer experience, I was told that the overnight shipping was really expensive so Marisela was unable to offer anything more than a 20% refund. She sent an 18% refund. Truly the worst experience I've ever had with another business, she was active online and posting other projects while leaving all of my frantic messages unread. Do not recommend, absolutely cried over this horrible experience more than once because of the stress of no response and I ended up at my best friend's wedding in a mess of a garment.

    Dyed the top silver grey

did a great job within the timeline she said it could be done. her tailor separated the bodice from the mother of the bride wedding gown and then she dyed the bodice and the tailor attached it back. shipped back to me delicately packaged. thank you very much!

I rushed into Hung's Custom Tailor Shop on Colonial Drive in a total panic -- I had a flight to San Diego coming up fast and needed my Blue Jeans tailored ASAP. Jenny was calm, kind, and incredibly accommodating. She told me to wait around and she'd take care of both pairs -- and she nailed it! The quality of her work matched the warmth of her heart. Hung's is a hidden gem on Colonial Drive, and Jenny is the reason why. Highly recommend to anyone in the Orlando area! both the Blue Jeans10:24 PMWhat a wonderful experience to share! Here's a heartfelt praise for Jenny: A Huge Shoutout to Jenny at Hung's Custom Tailor Shop! If you're ever in the Colonial Drive area of Orlando and need tailoring done -- especially in a pinch -- look no further than Hung's Custom Tailor Shop and the incredible Jenny, quite possibly the best owner in the tailoring business! I came to Jenny in a complete last-minute scramble, racing against the clock before flying out to San Diego on March 16th, and she didn't hesitate for even a second. With her warm smile and can-do attitude, she looked at my situation and said the magic words: "If you can wait around, we can knock off both the Blue Jeans." And just like that -- she came through! Jenny is the kind of person who truly goes above and beyond for her customers. She didn't turn me away, didn't make me feel like an inconvenience -- she made me feel like family. Her craftsmanship is top-notch, her kindness is unmatched, and her willingness to help someone in need on short notice speaks volumes about the kind of business she runs. Hung's Custom Tailor Shop on Colonial Drive is an Orlando gem, and Jenny is the heart of it all. Whether you need a quick fix or a full custom job, she will take care of you like no one else can. Thank you, Jenny! You saved the day and made sure I boarded that plane looking sharp. I needed alterations done on a dress with only two days' notice, and she absolutely pulled through. Not only was the turnaround incredibly fast, but the quality of work was impressive. Clean lines, proper fit, and everything looked tailored to my body -- not just "quickly hemmed." What I loved most was the experience. It feels very local, very homey -- older-generation Vietnamese staff who are warm, efficient, and straight to the point. It reminded me of family energy. No fluff, just skilled hands and years of experience. I brought in three to four dresses, and everything was completed for around $100, which is honestly very reasonable for the amount of work and the rush timing. Pricing was fair, communication was clear, and the service was fast without feeling careless. If you're in the Mills 50 area and need dependable, quick, and affordable alterations -- especially for a last-minute event -- this place delivers. Support local. Especially when they show up for you like that.

Sheila was fantastically friendly! She really knew what she was talking about when I was at my initial fitting and we were discussing what needed to get done. My dress was a little too long, and the zipper in the back wouldn't zip up the top 2 inches. A hem, lowering the zipper, and adding a little hook and eye cost about $103. You have to pay when you drop off your dress also (just an FYI). I did come a little close to the event asking for alterations. I dropped the dress off on April 10th (the wedding was April 19th and I was ok picking up the dress the day before if I had to because Sheila's reviews made me confident in her abilities). She said she could have it done in a week for me since these were "the easiest alterations" that she has been requested to do all week so I really wasn't worried. Here is where my hardships began... Fast forward to April 17th, the agreed upon date that I would pick up the dress. I walked into her beautiful store, and she looks extremely surprised to see me. She asked me which dress was mine, and then she explained that she actually didn't even start the alterations because she didn't properly put it in the system. Then she also explains to me that that she should probably hire an assistant. She reassured me that my alterations will be done by the following day (which I'm confused why she said it would take a week if she could do them so quickly.. but she seemed extremely busy so I get that there are other people who need their alterations before me). My anxiety is THROUGH THE ROOF at this point because I'm worried that I won't have a dress for the wedding that I am the maid of honor for. Again, probably my fault for coming 9 days before the wedding needing some alterations on a dress that didn't fit me too great. I don't think the alterations were too difficult though.. I come the following day, and my dress is ready. Sheila is doing a great job at juggling the 3 customers she has in the store at the time. She gives me my dress, and I try it on. The hem is great, but the zipper issue... I'm sorry to say this.. was NOT at all what I thought it would be. I think my roommate could have done a better job than this. Like even if the zipper was lowered just slightly below the waistband instead of on it like in the picture, it could've looked much better. I can definitely tell she was rushing. But the lack of cleaning up the threads just made me so uneasy about the quality of work I was receiving. She did not offer me a discount and was happy to send me on my way like this. I didn't think it was too bad in the moment until I took a closer look when I got home. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to figure out a different dress situation. I was asked several times during the wedding if my zipper broke on me :( I had to explain that it's not broken and that these were the alterations made on my dress. Overall, I think Sheila's customer service was superb, and I think she's very knowledgeable which is why this isn't a 1 star review! Do I think she has the capacity for new customers? Absolutely not. Did I feel taken care of as a customer? Absolutely not. Will I come back? Absolutely not. Too stressful for me. But I'm sure she's really good at keeping up with her current clientele!

She removed and added lace, changed straps, lifted the waist, hemmed and bustled the dress AND added a little mesh. I'm probably forgetting more.

I took my bridesmaid dress here looking to get it hemmed & taken in since it was a bit loose and…read morethe back zipper poked out so I asked for that to be fixed. I paid around $85 for this service. I came back a couple days later and tried on the dress after it has been altered and was extremely unsatisfied and disappointed. I asked for the dress to be floor length with the heels that I will be wearing in which I also brought with me when I dropped off the dress to get the exact measurements. The front of the dress length was floor length, however, the back was short after the tailor had tried to take in the zipper part. The lady had questioned me if it was the same heels that I was wearing when I tried on the dress initially and I said yes, because this is the same pair of heels that I will be wearing to the wedding for this dress. I brought the exact heels for the EXACT measurements. I'm not new at getting alterations done so why would I wear a different heel length if I'm trying to get it hemmed to a certain length. She made the zipper part uneven, and it looked messy overall. I told her I was not happy with it and wanted a refund so that I can take it somewhere else to do a better job. She ensured that she could fix the issue and had me wait 20 minutes for her to fix it so I agreed. Once she tried to fix it, I tried it on again and the zipper part still bulged out. The length in the back of the dress was better, but the side of the dress was still shorter so I can tell that the dress was not cut evenly from the start. The lady tried to tell me it would be even after she steamed it. I can tell just by steaming it that it would not be even. Again, I asked for a refund because I did not have time that day to sit around and wait for however long for it to be fixed again. I needed to go out of town. I asked for a refund AGAIN and she finally agreed to give me a partial refund which I accepted. During the refund process, I use the same credit card that I paid with a couple days prior when I dropped off the dress, but on the receipt, their system showed a different card number. I provided them with proof and confirmation and even showed my bank statement that this was the same card that I use to pay which also listed out the business' name. They still gave me a hard time and kept going back-and-forth for around 15 to 20 minutes. It's like they thought I was lying or something. I showed them the date it was purchased with their business name and my statement. Mind you, I dropped off the dress Tuesday 1/27 and picked it up Friday 1/30 so it was only 3 days. After however, long, she finally gave me the refund via cash because they couldn't figure it out. This couple was giving me a very hard time the entire time. I do not recommend this alteration place. Their work is not great. They rush your alterations and do not care what it looks like. Seems like they just want to make a quick buck with lousy service. She nearly ruined my dress. And the length is now unfixable. Do not waste your time and money.
