Thankfully the lady-in-charge at Silver Threads & Golden Needles is a bloody gem, doesn't judge and will sew up and re-thread your favourite clothing item. She is also great at re-sizing and altering your pants/shirt/dress if you just HAD to have it despite the size, or you're clever goose and have lost a bit of weight. Before you know it you'll be out the door and skipping down Kew Junction with your newly fitting outfit. Isn't it glorious that a place like this exists? Maureen is so welcoming and very talented, with just a couple of fittings she removed the ghastly inserts from the front of the dress, adjusted the fit, created a hook to hitch the back of my train and recut the neckline.
