I made a huge mistake and went extremrly late to an appointment that caused everyone working there to have to stay there several hours longers. I pray to God that no one else ever experience what I experienced that day! I apologized to the ermt there though they wanted me to experience the anger that I had caused them in a way that no person should ever have the opportunity to do to another person! Two women working there had my being held open by them while one of them took a needle and jammed the needle up and down several inches for several minutes while I screamed as loud as I could. A man working there leaned into the room and watched for several seconds while laughing. I kept screaming louder and louder though feared I would choke and felt as though they were threatening my life so I did what is my constitutional right, I defended myself and smacked the woman. she pulled the needle out of my mouth. Both women were laughing the entire time until I smacked her. When the needle was out of my mouth I told them I comprehend their and and won't ever be late to a dentist appointment again. Literally the WORST establishment ever. I use to work here and my children are patients. I quit years ago because of the lack of professionalism. Today I tried to give them another chance and take my kids back and INSTANTLY regretted that decision!!!! I even came 20 minutes early. Sat for 45 minutes. Just for them to tell me that my coverage does not qualify. The kicker is that I was so desperate from sitting so long, I said I would pay out of pocket just to get told I'd have to wait a hour!!!!! During the time of me waiting nobody acknowledged me I just stood at the counter for 25 minutes before I gave up and sat down. When I made the initial appointment via phone, I told the lady this appointment was very important and she told me my insurance was acceptable. They had a whole WEEK to verify my children's insurance. Why wait until I arrive???? That's so unfair to customers and their time. All the manager said was "Oh yea we're understaffed." Huh??? Where is the empathy? Where is the resolution? I blame myself for giving them the benefit of the doubt. I should have known from working there years ago what to expect. It will never change because the higher ups are ghetto and incapable of running a professional business. This place needs to be gutted from the inside out and COMPLETELY revamped. Even dentists and employees were quitting and just walking out back then. They are money hungry and force their dentist to OVER CHARGE!!! What a shit business! My daughter's first dentist appointment ever. No one was friendly and they barely did anything in the appointment. They told me she would need surgery for four cavities. The doctor only comes twice a month. They canceled her surgery ten minutes before the appointment. Then they left a voicemail a month later to reschedule it for the next day. I tried to call back ten times but it just kept going to an after hours service during open hours. That service had no idea about this dentist. I've never been able to get a hold of them and they never have called back again. I've gone on to another dentist and my daughter has no cavities whatsoever!!!!!!!!!! Such a scam!!! read more

On top of being unprofessional the whole time in the front desk, joking and talking about things they shouldn't as well as eating candy, making fun of patients all this in Spanish but I speak Spanish so I understood them. They didn't know I did. Unless you know them they treat you rudely and cut you off a lot, make you wait long-- hours for an appointment that was at 12 noon, I got there at 11:30 yet still they needed time. I asked her if I was able to run and get water as I'm disabled and need it. She said yes, perfectly fine. They're a bunch of crooks in that place. STAY AWAY!!! they tricked us to pay hundreds of dollars!!! We waited 5 months for our daughter's appointment, which they reassured me it will be at no cost since we have medicaid. When we finally came, they suddenly said that the basic free option is not available and for us and the only option is to take the expensive treatment that cost us almost $400!! We reluctantly agreed since my daughter had urgent treatments to do and was in pain. Then they left my daughter with the gas mask on for 50 mins!!!! While they were taking care of other patients! One star because... They told me that my Insurance didn't WORK, they told me that my kids need a deep cleaning. I brought my son here because his insurance changed, and this was the one he could go to. It looked clean inside, but that's the only good thing I can really say about it. 1. We were treated like numbers that needed to be pushed through, rather than like people, to the point of being cut off when we were talking, and no one actually looked at us. The place is already grey, drab, and in need of repairs: ignoring us didn't make the place any cheerier. 2. The dentist told me my son needed three teeth pulled to make way for adult teeth and that he had a cavity so bad he probably needed a root canal. When we went to check out, we were told there was an additional cavity that we hadn't been told about in the office. Weird? I think so. The vibe in the office was already worrisome, but the diagnosis sent up any red flags that weren't already flying. My son had been to the dentist 6 months previously; how did he get a cavity so bad it needed a root canal? 3. After the dentist rushed through the exam, a relatively nice woman (not warm, but at least not rude and frigid) tried to clean my son's teeth, but the suction wasn't working. She called a man in to fix it, and he brought in calking to spray over the hoses and seal the leak. He said to wait for a minute before using, so she spread tooth paste all over my son's teeth and waited. But it still didn't work, so my son ended up sitting there for about eight minutes with toothpaste in his mouth while the guy tried to fix a hose. 4. The hose refused to be fixed, so the guy told us to go in another room. The lady said it was okay, she was pretty much done, anyway. Except she hadn't actually done more than a few seconds of cleaning. In the second room, she rinsed and suctioned his mouth, and that was it. 5. I told the girl at the front counter (she actually kind of smiled at us) that we were getting a second opinion. I was going to anyway, but then when she revealed the supposed second cavity on the paperwork (and extra charges on each thing they wanted to do), I was super irritated and wasn't about to go back there again. I got my son in at our old dentist the same afternoon, and he DOESN'T HAVE ANY CAVITIES. One tooth needs a treatment and seal because it's on the verge of a cavity, and one baby tooth actually does need to be removed. Neither of these were a surprise because we were already watching them. 6. Overview: This was a terrible experience both in the way we were treated and the way they marked up the bill. Worst of all, they tried to cheat us and the insurance system by prescribing services we didn't need. They were going to put my son through all of that for no reason so they could make a buck. Oh, and they don't want parents to come back with their kids. Not a surprise that they don't want us to see what's really going on back there. read more

I did and emergency walk in, my mouth was numbed with needles and after over an hour of waiting the medicine wore off so i was forced to get stabbed again 3 more times after already being in excruciating pain. After the tooth was extracted I was not given any take home instructions nor at home care the dentist rushed out to go home immediately after and I was prescribed ibuprofen meanwhile I'm on blood thinners and cannot even take them, so I spent today (THANKSGIVING) in the emergency room due to the pain I was in! SO then I asked to speak with someone else and the person that got on the phone was just as nasty as the one before her. I'll bet it was the same girl honestly. She said she was going to report me for calling back to get an appointment. Lol! Report me for what? I hadn't done anything but get loud with her. No cursing, threats, nothing. Absolutely nothing. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Anywhere at all. These people shouldn't have customer service positions for a living. I can't say enough good things about Dr.Johanna at Altamonte Mall Dental. She is the most thorough, gentle, and professional dentist I have ever met. She takes the time to explain everything and makes me feel completely comfortable and confident through any procedure. Did I mentioned "knowledgeable"? She can, literally, find a needle in a stuck of hay! After seeing numerous specialists for a toothache and giving up hope, she found a crack in my tooth that no one else did; I spent thousands of dollars going to "prestige and looking professional" dental offices only to find out that they can't find a problem but not too ashamed to charge for their shortcomings anyways. They gave me this song and dance story I needed a special cleaning and my insurance would not cover it so I need to pay an extra $45. After Nurse had my grandfather sit in the chair for over 20 min and telling me to take another seat somewhere else because she was going to use the one I was using in the moment she got distracted by another male nurse showing her pics in his phone of a purchase he made, she continue walking towards another office where another nurse kept talking to her about personal issues. I came up to them and ask how long more till he gets seen, one of them said she don't know while the first nurse who was distracted got up and came up to my grandfather and open the package where the tools are and just looked around his mouth and approached the x-rays and stated he has periodontal disease and can't be clean or do anything today cause they need a release form from his Dr. due to some medication he was taking and stated he has to have a few teeth removed as well. Next day we visited another office to get a second opinion and needed a release form to be fax to new office and they never did. New office provided their own release form and sent to them for nothing. Waited for over an hour for them, even the new office called them and had them in wait to state they had sent it already. I had stated the fax number twice to Sabrina at the front desk because I had a feeling nothing was going to be sent. I had called them from my own phone and kept me in hold, after 20 min I used my grandfather's phone and called them, to my surprise they answered. Kept losing my file not know who I am and what they were doing when I was being examined and kept asking me why they were in if anyone came into the room to speak to me. Six different people came into my room did not introduce themselves acted as if I wasn't there. And when the dentist came into see me I told her I felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave because of everything I just stated and she looked at me a rolled her eyes and said well I'm the only one in the room with you now so I don't see your problem. WISH THERE WAS A ONE STAR OPTION!!! I took my 7 year old son for a tooth extraction. The insurance did not cover the Laughing Gas to take the edge off, however the dentist was supposed to numb the area where the tooth was. The dentist shot my son with the needle to inject the numbing medicine but did not wait longer than approximately 45 seconds before she attempted to extract the tooth. She touched my son's gums and asked him if he could still feel and he told her YES! At that time I asked her to let me pay the additional for the laughing gas and anything else that would help him to ensure he was not in pain. She stated that he did not need anything additional and that it would be fine. He told her he could still feel everything before she started pulling the tooth but she started pulling anyways. While pulling I told her to stop because it was clear that my son was in excruciating pain however she did not stop. I told her several times to stop and as a matter of fact I told her not to even start pulling because he could still feel. She pulled anyways. Once the tooth was out my son was still in excruciating pain and I was very upset and started asking her again why would she pull the tooth knowing that he could still feel and he wasn't totally numb. She got upset and told me I needed to take him to another pediatric dentist because she was not going to see him and she would give me a referral. When she pulled the tooth out she stormed out of the office and never packed his tooth with gauze or gave any other instructions or even checked him to see if he was having any type of reaction to the numbing medicine. I had to search around the office myself to find gauze to stuff the hole. He was bleeding profusely. She walked out and left him like that. It was clear she was not coming back to give me instructions so I walked to the front desk and asked her several more times why would she pull the tooth knowing the numbing meds hasn't totally taken effect. She stated she had been doing this for 10 years and she knew what she was doing and I didn't. I told her I may not know much about pulling a tooth but I know when my son is in pain and I know pain verses pressure. My son was feeling more than pressure and she did not give him more numbing medicine or take any other precautions before she pulled the tooth. I was very upset and told her she better be lucky that I have a lot to lose because if not I would definitely had hurt her. She did not extend a professional response about my concerns or my son's pain. Everyone's body is different and he may have needed more medicine or at least to wait longer for it to kick in. These people are very UNPROFESSIONAL AND COULDNT CARE LESS ABOUT PAIN (even with kids). The doctor went to get security when I told her she better be glad I have a lot to loose or I'd beat her down. She failed to tell security that she was very rude, UNPROFESSIONAL, and stood up in my face before I even said anything rude to her. DO NOT GO....... They should be shut down...... I made an appointment to get a general exam and a cleaning after becoming annoyed with my current dentist who just constantly tries to make you pay for things your insurance doesn't cover. Although about 45 minutes from my home I decided to come here because it's in my insurance plan. Upon arrival I was surly to see that they were open earlier than 10 am. I was greeted when I walked in and given forms to fill outa be asked to provide my insurance card and identification. After filling out the forms I waited no more than 10 minutes. X-rays were taken I saw the doctor who was very pleasant. After that the hygienist came in to clean my teeth. He was nice and thorough. Everything was completed in about 1 hour or so. I was told that they would see me in six months if I didn't have any problems. No this place is not fancy and could use some updating. But it's clean and they got the job done. I will be back until something changes that would make me stop coming here. But for now I like it. read more

I'm 80 years old and my wife is 78. During our lifetime we both combined had over 150 teeth cleanings so we have a GOOD idea of what is involved. On this day we each had a VERY truncated teeth cleaning by their Hygienist. To be specific, she never used the metal tool to scrape the tartar or plaque off our teeth. Plus, when using the dental floss to clear between the teeth she has trouble getting it to go down in 2 rear teeth so she just gave up. I am going to the trouble submitting this complaint because we have never experienced such POOR dentistry before during our combined long lifetime. I don't often leave reviews, but I do choose a lot of things based off of reviews. With that said I feel like this office has been short changed. I have had the same dentist since I have had teeth, I've recently had to change my insurance and my new insurance was not accepted at my old dentist. Long story short I was scared to death to find a new dentist. I have had one cleaning and X-rays at this office it was a very pleasant experience overall. The front receptionist greeted myself and everyone else with a smile. I arrived a few minutes early to fill out paperwork work and they called me back shortly after. There was not a lengthy wait time. The hygienist who performed my X-rays was very nice and professional. The dentist came in and went over the X-rays, he was very thorough and super polite. The cleaning was the best cleaning I have had in a long time. And that is coming from someone who gets a cleaning every six months.
