We just received flowers from this so called "specialty flower shop", they are a total disgrace. The flowers are droopy, wilted and discoloured and look nothing like the photos or what my daughter was promised. I am insulted by the fact that when we called back to discuss this issue (I am sure she will reply with "we talked about it and provided a solution", and she did but her solution was to send the same bouquet and even said "they'll look the same so don't set your standards high", so what's the point? Also, the manner in which she spoke with us is ridiculous, disrespectful and demeaning. She was overly patronizing and speaking to me like a 3rd grader, I'm a grown man being spoken to like a child with her telling me "oh, it's covid, you can't expect things to be perfect". Look at the photos people, let the photos speak for themselves. They are photos of a cheap, ugly, wilted & poorly put together bouquet that cost my daughter $89.16 for a disgusting looking group of DAISES! A blind man can put together something better than this for a quarter of the price. I've also uploaded a photo of what we should have received, and also a photo of ROSES I bought from Costco for my wife, which are worth more than lousy daisies, wanna know how much I paid for that lovely bouquet? $40 at Costco which isn't even a specialty flower shop, they're a bulk warehouse and are anything but!!! Look at the difference yourself and you be the judge. This was a manager I spoke with, who is so disrespectful. Her solution was to send replacements, and said not to set our standards high as they will be the same and this is where I have an issue with and asked them to take them back and refund my daughter who just wanted to make her mother smile on her birthday. She said she won't do that, even though it is NOT uncommon for them to issue refunds based on their negative Google reviews, where people complained and were told they'd be issued a refund. I told her I would be leaving a negative review which seemed like music to her ears. My daughter paid by debit, I wish it was by credit because I gaurantee you, visa would get a call to hold payments to them as they advertised one thing, and delivered trash. My STRONG advice and I suggest you heed it? STAY AWAY & STEER CLEAR. She was using words with my daughter words such as "I refuse to believe" as if my daughter is a liar. I almost for a second thought my daughter was exaggerating and telling half truths, till I talked to the manager myself. I have the call recorded, anyone who dares to think this is a fake review by a competitor, or thinks I'm blowing this out of proportion, I'll be more than happy to let you hear her tone. During my call, she had the audacity to say that the photos might not be a true representation (photos my daughter sent her of the garbage collection they jammed together and named bouquet). This "manager" which needs to be managed is extremely rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Thank you lady manager for ruining my wife's birthday. May yours be the same if not worse. Look at the pictures everyone, daisies from them for $90, roses from Costco for $40. Which wore it best? I am in disbelief of the way you treated my family and I and at how rude you are, I would love for you to reply, because I will just keep editing and replying back to you. You are so in the wrong and your tone with people is beyond disrespectful and your excuses are as invalid as this "bouquet" . Covid? Really? That's the best you can come up with? What does that have to do with flowers? Was there something I missed on the news about flowers catching corona? Ok, let's run with your excuse here for a second, let's say you got a bad batch SOMEHOW Covid related, you're ok with selling that to a customer and that product representing your quality? Around in March 2015, I wanted to make a good impression for my date at the Sprott School of Business Formal, so I decided to get her a corsage. Honestly, they were very helpful and clutch at a critical time since the Gala was happening in two days. When I went in, the owner was very nice in helping find a corsage and boutonniere that would match my date's dress, as well for a reasonable price. They had both flower pieces ready for pick up the next day, which was perfect for my busy schedule. In the end, my date enjoyed her corsage, which was more important. If I ever had another formal event to attend or ever just need a bouquet of flowers, I would definitely come back to Alta Vista Flowers. read more

Very disappointed. I ordered flowers to be delivered to my hostess in advance of an afternoon party. Instead of arriving before noon, as requested, the flowers were instead delivered in the middle of the party. Exactly what I wanted to avoid - my hostess having to deal with the distraction of the arrival of flowers when her party was in full swing. I was embarrassed when I arrived and discovered that the flowers had not proceeded me. I had to call the florist in order to get these flowers to arrive at all - I think instead they would have arrived after the party was finished. I ordered almost a week in advance, a beautiful Peony bouquet that they advertised online and got something COMPLETELY different. I went out of my way and ordered from this place specifically because they had peonies.. instead I got some sort of Lilly arrangement and Some greenery! I would never have picked Lillie's! I would have gotten flowers WAY closer if this is what I knew I would have gotten! Today, my mom received sad flowers that had dry, crispy edges for her birthday bouquet. My mom's only wish is to not receive dry, crispy flowers for such an auspicious occasion. Despite receiving a note from the florist that stated, "We have built an excellent reputation on beautiful flowers and prompt service. If we ever fail to meet your expectations, please let us know..." The florist was contacted promptly after delivery and the response from the florist was for me to remove the dry, crispy edges from the bouquet. The reason for the dry, crispy edges was due to the fact that roses are imported from outside of Canada. Would it have been too much to expect the florist to provide the freshest flowers in their inventory for the bouquet? Advice: I am confident that other independent florists would provide a much more pleasant experience. read more

Alta Vista Flowers helped me out at a critical time. I discovered late on a Saturday that a funeral service for my aunt was to be held early on a Monday morning. I scrambled to find a florist that was open on Sunday so that I could get an order in for flowers for 10 am on Monday. I called Alta Vista from British Columbia at 1:30pm on Sunday afternoon. The service that I received from Alta Vista was exceptional and I had no doubt that everything would be done perfectly. I heard from my cousin a few hours after the service that flowers were present when she arrived for the visitation and that they were very beautiful. Unfortunately I cannot respond within my friends post here or to your response on Google. You say to be clearing up misinformation but you are not. I didn't receive any calls from Alta Vista Flowers last Friday before 5:22pm from your driver asking me where my address was and telling me he was in Riverside area not Barrhaven. I then received another call 6 minutes later from the store saying the delivery would be handled the following day. I can prove the phone calls with Bell statements and my phone history, why would I have reason to misrepresent the facts? As for you checking the address, there is no house numbers in the 50s on Bayside Prvt. The house numbers stop at 22. As for your store policy and decision to not redeliver unless an additional $30 delivery fee was paid and to keep the originators money! That's a terrible policy and is exactly why people should avoid ordering floral delivery through your store. As of Friday night 5:30 Alta Vista driver and store had my correct address. You could have chosen to return with the flowers the next day. (as many florists would have done given the same circumstances). Instead you decided to argue for more money to deliver the flowers and by the sounds of it, kept the payment for the flowers. The fact you think this is appropriate customer service is evidence enough for discerning customers to choose not to buy from your store. You need to revisit your policy and actually care about your customer more than a delivery charge. You could have added two new customers and more from their recommendations had a beautiful arrangement been delivered and received. Instead you lost us and any forward recommendations, and perhaps others will think twice before ordering a delivery. Perhaps a refresh of Marketing 101 or a rewatch of the Grinch who Stole Christmas might help you see where you went wrong with this transaction. read more

I had the most traumatizing experience with this florist. I live in another town and called my local florist that has been in business for 75 years to place the order. I thought everything was taken care of when I come to find out that Alta Vista was not able to find the address so they called my florist and said they wanted another $30 to try again. My guy says this is unheard of. Our small city florist will attempt multiple times to get the flowers to a recipient with no extra charge. Alta Vista cancelled the order and kept the money. I am beyond shocked to say the least. My girlfriend received a call from Altavista. They were only 15 km away but they told her to not expect to receive any flowers. Her Mother just died. Can you imagine the grief she is going through and Altavista cannot even manage to get the flowers there. As a business owner myself of 33 years I would do what is necessary to make sure the customer was taken care of. I believe in great reviews but if this is how Altavista handles things then I recommend you look elsewhere for your florist. read more

My dad recommended Alta Vista Flowers to me when I wanted to have flowers delivered to my best friend, who lives in Ottawa (I do not). I was sorely disappointed with them for the following reasons: 1. The flowers I ordered (online) were not what arrived - they were the wrong colour and despite having chosen the "better" option (an extra $10), they were not any bigger or better than the photograph on the website. 2. When I called Alta Vista Flowers to point this out, the owner, Karen, argued with me over what colour the flowers were, and was generally unfriendly and short with me. 3. Alta Vista Flowers offered (reluctantly) to replace the flowers, but when my best friend declined the offer (when they called her they made it seem like a huge hassle for them), all they offered was 20% off our next order. No thanks, I will not be ordering from them again. 4. They need to learn a thing or two about customer service!! They don't seem to know what it means to put the customer first. I was so lucky to find this local florist in Ottawa that not only were the flowers delivered exactly as pictured but they were beautiful ( even during the biggest snow storm of the year). It was easy, great website and delivered on time. From now on, this is my go to florist in Ottawa. Best to support small businesses that actually make an effort than those sloppy bigger companies that offer deals but then the flowers delivered are rotten( seriously there was mold on the flowers :( yuck! ) Would definitely recommend this place. My boyfriend had ordered flowers to be delivered to me on Valentine's Day back on Feb 3. He confirmed the day before that the flowers would arrive by 5pm the following day, the address was correct, they even called him back to change the colour of the roses. Nothing arrived the day of, no phone call (they had both our contact information), by 11pm we were both sad and frustrated that despite his early planning, I received nothing. He called the following day and asked what happened, no explanation was given but thankfully they did provide a refund without argument. After reading many positive reviews about how they go the extra mile for customers, I called to express my concerns, and was quickly told 'sorry, the weather was bad, this never happens, it would have been too late for you to get your flowers as it was a night order, it would have arrived by 11pm, we didn't know about it and did everything possible to try to get it to you'. My issue is that I never received a phone call informing me of this and received nothing on Valentine's Day. I asked for a productive solution, and was offered 30% off my next purchase, to which the manager said 'well, this will likely be useless to you because you will clearly never shop here again'. By calling, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt to make things right, but ultimately they have little regard for their customer's satisfaction, and indeed I will never purchase flowers from them ever again as a result of this. read more

After my review, Alta Vista Flowers called me to ask about the replacement and delivery. I appreciated their call. Alta Vista Flowers told me that the US order was through FTD, and after the FTD cut, under $40 was left for the arrangement. They did offer that if I came into their shop, they would make a bouquet for me. Again, I appreciate them trying to make amends, and I told them I would add this to my review. *************************** I had a vase of flowers delivered from a friend in Maine, as a pick me up, after my fathers passing. The delivery was left outside my front door, not sure what time it was left, but it was cold out and the water in the vase was almost freezing! Needless to say the lilies were turning brown on the ends, the roses starting to brown and some dying carnations. I called Alta Vista Flowers and they said they would bring a replacement. I also told them that when I sent a picture to the sender (trying not to get the browned flowers in it) my friend told me "oh I thought it was very small" .....it was a very small arrangement. The replacement was delivered at the exact time they said, I wanted to make sure I was home this time. The replacement was fresher but to me it looked like a grocery store (ie: cheap) arrangement. I am sure it is not the $70. one originally ordered..... there were no roses (as in the first), but it did have more lilies. small and I mean small carnations, 2 astromerias, and too much fillers.
