We have a 13-year-old daughter for whom we are considering braces. We went to three different Orthodontists in Salt Lake and Park City for quotes on getting braces and heard 3 different recommendations. One said just putting braces on would do the trick, another said our daughter may need teeth extracted before getting braces and a third mentioned something about jaw surgery. We were confused as to what to do, so we decided to go to an Oral Surgeon for an objective opinion. We scheduled a consultation with Dr. Stosich to see what he recommends. I was impressed at how professional and thorough the examination was. In addition to the X-rays taken, Dr. Stosich had several assistants in the room while he took various measurements of her facial structure, jaw alignment and features. He then spent quite a bit of time talking with our daughter about her family history, what she likes and doesn't like about her facial features and her overall goal in getting braces. The Doctor then showed us a computer generated image of her profile based on the x-rays and measurements on a large screen so we could visualize what her jaw structure looked like now and what the outcome of the various recommendations would look like. Dr. Stosich reviewed each of the 3 recommendations made by the other Orthodontists and explained what they would do and what the outcome would look like. We liked the fact that even though he is an Oral Surgeon specializing in jaw surgery, he did not push it as the only option but instead gave us pros and cons of each option for us to decide for ourselves what the best course of action would be. We do like the fact that jaw surgery can be covered buy insurance and it does produce lasting, long-term results than simply braces alone. And not to mention, corrective jaw surgery has the added benefit of minimizing snoring later down the road, as it runs in the family. Overall, I would highly recommend a consultation with an Oral Surgeon before getting braces for your child if he or she has a large overbite. You are investing in your child's future and he or she will have that smile forever, so you might as well do it right the first time. We haven't decided on our final course of action yet, so we will keep you posted and write a follow-up to this soon.

He walked me through the entire process and post-op visits, and he's a genuinely nice, easygoing person who communicates clearly and puts you at ease. His office was also very accommodating, especially considering I traveled from out of state for the surgery. This would have been a 5/5 experience, but unfortunately I ran into issues with the office handling the required paperwork for state disability benefits. Despite following up more than 15 times via email and phone and receiving multiple assurances that it would be taken care of, the paperwork was never filed, which resulted in me losing my state disability benefits (up to $1000). While the office handled my medical insurance and short-term disability insurance without issues, state disability paperwork seems to be different, and this part was not managed successfully. I feel little sorry for them because of so much paperwork they had to do for my case, and they are not used to work with different states disability benefits, but I tried my best for them providing all the neccessary information and help them to file necessary papers. From a surgical and clinical standpoint, I highly recommend Dr. Stosich. I just wish the administrative side, particularly state disability paperwork, had been handled with the same level of care. I was a bit of a special case coming from out of state, so I don't expect most patients to have issues on the administrative side.

Yesterday, I had a tooth pulled and an implant placed by Dr. Price. He has a wonderful bedside manner--friendly, relatable, and professional--which made the entire experience much less stressful. The medical assistants, Kally, Loredana, and Madison, were also amazing. They were all so sweet, personable, and reassuring throughout the procedure. Their kindness and positive attitudes really helped put me at ease during what could have been a stressful situation. I truly appreciate the care and compassion shown by everyone in the office. I highly recommend Dr. Price and his entire team!

This year, dentist recommended that she see oral surgeon for evaluation & extraction of her extra tooth so that her permanent teeth can erupt. I don't know of anyone who had this type of tooth removed this young and so nervous about it. I looked around at a few oral surgeons, and emailed Dr. Price's practice inquiring whether they work on patients this young. They do, and they work in conjunction with pediatric anesthesiologists for young patients. At consult, Dr. Price made my child feel comfortable. It was cool to see the 3D images of my child's teeth with the ones growing in and also the extra tooth. My child's consult was at the end of January and her procedure was end of March (today) because that was the soonest the pediatric anesthesiologist would be available at Dr. Price's practice. The pediatric anesthesiologists work directly with several oral surgeons in the area to provide available days to schedule surgery. Cost: you gotta plan for it if you do not have adequate insurance. They quoted $1665 w/o insurance. With my primary dental and husband's secondary dental insurance it was $375 total. The surgery required removal of her other baby front tooth and she also had a wiggly bottom tooth ready to fall out. Writing on day of her procedure. My child recovered SO WELL by the end of the day, & excited to turn in three teeth to the Tooth Fairy. Thank you Dr. Price for your skill & care with my child for her procedure.
