I've been an established patient for a long while and am usually seen in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria. The staff at both locations are welcoming, warm and personable-very helpful and patient. The front desk staff at the Solvang office-one in particular who seems to consider herself the person in charge-is extremely rude and outright dismissive. As I stood waiting to check in, I witnessed her unpleasant demeanor with others. I took a visual check of others in the waiting room and the grim looks on people's faces made me wonder if they all would prefer to be seen elsewhere if they could. When it was my turn, the staff member who was helping me needed assistance since she was new and in training. Unfortunately the rude one starts dressing me down about how she left me messages about updating my insurance and I explained I returned the call and left my details on the recording and that I tried to update it on the website but the site wasn't working. It turned into her telling me no-she didn't get the message, and implied I didn't call. I asked her why we were even debating this and she abruptly snapped my insurance card on the counter and crisply dismissed me saying' have a seat-we'll be with you' and turned her back on me. As I sat down, the people next to me whispered 'they are so rude here. It's like this every time.' I won't be back to this location even though it's closer to my home than Santa Barbara. Her approach is unkind, she was bossy to the girl she was training, she's just rude. Super disappointing to see this and now read the same type of comments previously. My doctor is great but this location isn't for me. read more

The staff here never answers the phone and completely does a terrible job at doing the paperwork hey need to do in order to ensure you are getting the right testing and imaging done. The doctor was fine but the staff is horrendous. I had to call 23. yes 23!!! times to get a person to answer the phone. I had "messages" in their efficient message system pending for 13 days before anyone answered. They did everything wrong and didn't follow up with my insurance which has resulted in me being undiagnosed for over 6 months read more

I wouldn't even give this experience one star! I made a follow-up appointment with Dr Asher Kuperman against my better judgements the assigned me to his PA i called to change the time..long story short they canceled both appointments and refused to give me my allotted time..I wasn't happy with this Dr to begin with he lacked that certain empathy and I felt like he was rushing me Into a surgical situation..the front desk is a mess. I do like Dr Eli Kuperman there and Dr Birch..but do not recommend Dr Asher Kuperman ..I will be going elsewhere!! read more

I only gave them 1 star because I couldn't give them a zero. the office staff is extremely rude. they never answer the phone or return messages. they drag their feet on any paperwork that needs to be done in a timly manner. I will never go back to them. I would recommend you stay far away from them and take your business else where. read more

Dr. Birch only. He is amazing and has been so patient and kind in trying to fix what another surgeon ruined. Most brilliant surgeon I know. As for the pain management guy there.....no way. I was insulted and will never go back to him. I saw the back specialist.....no comments good or bad. But Dr BIRCH ROCKS! read more

I visited Dr. Proctor for a workman's compensation injury to my knee. The pre-check in prior to my appointment was uber convenient and was one of the ways they expressed that they valued my time. Always greeted by a friendly staff, never a long wait in the office, the flow of patients is managed so very well. Each phase of my care was always explained and my (what I sometimes considered dumb) questions always answered immediately. My visit to the surgery center was just as great - the entire staff was professional and kind and explained the entire process. My follow up flawless - I knew what they did where and why when I left - I was just released yesterday - My knee back to being near 100% following the care of Dr. proctor and my PT team. I would highly recommend this team to anyone - they are top notch. read more

Dr. Kenly is great! Love that they have a office in Solvang and office and surgery center in Santa Barbara as well.

If you have a neck injury do not see Bill Oakley. He said he couldn't help me and was condescending and rude. My neurologist recommended the Human Performance Center and they helped tremendously! My injury required cervical traction and manual manipulation and I believe Oakley either didn't know how to do that or didn't want to do that. He would put me on a traction machine for 10 minutes and it did nothing. It did take much effort on the part of The Human Performance Center to get me well (many sessions of hands on manipulation). I feel so much better today and I am grateful that I found the right place. read more

This place was highly unprofessional, they like to give you the run around here as well as keep you waiting we had an 8:15 a.m. appointment only to be seen by the doctor at 9:45 a.m. we came from over an hour away to be on time only to be kept waiting for an hour and a half and then basically not to do nothing terrible place... the staff was highly unprofessional as well it make you feel out constant paperwork even though you were there the week before and filled out the exact same paperwork read more

Dr. Proctor is a complete ass to patients and his staff. The way he talked to his assistant outside my door was rude and completely unprofessional. And if you are coming in for a workers comp related issue I suggest canceling now and schedule with another orthopedic specialist that will actually give you some decency and respect for the situation you unfortunately were involved in. I felt it from the moment he walked in the room that he had already pre-judged me as just another POS comp case trying to work the system. Sorry Doc, working the system is not what I call fun nor do I have the time for it. Get to know your patients a little. I know, weird, some people actually legitimately get hurt at work and just want to be fixed. When he mentioned my date of injury I responded with a little light truthful humor... I guess you would say "yeah almost year, I'm finally here, such a pain in the butt process (smiley face)".. his unamused response back was "yeah, it is for all of us (with a little eye roll)". Oh I'm sorry to trouble you with an easy 5 minute office visit that you coded and are billing as a extended office visit. Who exactly is working the system here??? (I know because the lazy doc makes you walk up his charge slip to the receptionist). I question your competency based off the information you gave me. The only reason I gave two stars is because your staff (receptionist and MAs) were polite and working their butts off today. It was an extremely busy morning and all you could do was bitch at them for not rooming patients fast enough. Heaven forbid you work a little through your lunch time. read more
