Not bizarrely expensive. Here's a few items we bought: - Butter pecan ice cream tub $4.59 - Russet potatoes (3-lbs) $1.99 - Bbq sauce $1.59 The lady who checked us out was friendly and funny. Large, "seedless" watermelons were on sale $4.98 each. They and the rest of the produce looked decent. I was able to slake my thirst that warm afternoon with some good bottles sweet tea out of Amarillo, TX, called Panhandle Pure ($1.09). Western Union is available here. There used to be a lady who would sell her homemade tamales here out of her car. I sure wish she would come back!

As a general note, the little town of Antonito is located somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and Jack's is the best or only grocery store, anywhere. What we discovered: - A decent selection of produce - The occasional organic option, like milk and butter - Friendly and slightly spooky employees - More beer, and other adult drinks, there's a connected liquor store - Hunting and fishing licenses and gear - Firewood, nature's beer buddy - A public restroom (campers, rejoice!) - DVD rentals, because of course - Chile roasting, yes, it was Labor Day weekend Also, there's a "Nite Club" across the street. There is also an excellent wine and European beer selection. We departed with Pierogies for our dinner and a bottle of Sam Smith's Chocolate Stout. Check out the blackboard outside for Marks Muffin of the Day. And Mr. Guy Fieri is also a fan. In short, you just don't expect such a cosmopolitan selection in the midst of a small town/village in S. Me and The Hubs took a recent road trip from the Denver area to Santa Fe. We took I25 down to SF, but decided to take the scenic route back home via hwy 285 through Antonito/Alamosa/Buena Vista/Fairplay, etc. So- the (approx) two-hour stretch from SF to Antonito is anything but scenic. Also, there is nowhere to stop for a bathroom break (at least not that I saw and I was looking). Then, over the horizon, there it was! A gas station! And not just some old run-down two-pump thing but a real modern Sinclair gas station! Anyway, we pulled in and found very clean restrooms and friendly staff. This location had a decent selection of snacks and drinks and was clean overall, plus it had a small restaurant that serves burgers and fries (I didn't have one, but it was good to note for future reference). As I mentioned, this is now a Sinclair gas station (not Antonito Fuels) and is about 2 hours from Santa Fe. If you're heading north from there, you'll be ready to stop. If you're driving south, STOP HERE. There's nothing else in the two hour drive from here to Santa Fe. Trust me.

That is very important to me as a woman. The self-service pumps are available 24-hours. Also, I gassed the ol' Jeep up here on 4/10/2023 heading back home. The prices are competitive with the surrounding area, albeit on the high side. That morning, Sinclair's unleaded was $3.75 per gallon. They also have plus and premium gasoline as well as diesel. The station itself is large. Clean. Trash cans weren't overflowing. Not crowded with weirdo tourists, however, it was 8:30AM. Lol. Additional services: + air + ATM + propane Easy to access from both sides of the road whether you are in a small or larger vehicle with a trailer. I bet I'll be stopping here more in the future. When I found out this place had decent restrooms and a burger grille with really good burgers it was a match made in heaven for me.
