This pair had a hole in the corners of the heel. They were pretty worn down. I feel like they are a brand new pair of shoes.

Wow! I wish I had taken a before picture. This pair had a hole at the corner of the sole. In a week I got what looks like a brand new pair of shoes. Great service, quick turnaround and a the craftsmanship is impeccable. A great way to repair what you have instead of buying new.

New leather lining inside my heels
    Breanna B.

I'm very happy with my experience here. This will now be my go-to spot for shoe repairs. I recently needed to have the lining replaced in a pair of leather heels. I had them for years and the lining ripped up. I wasn't sure if this was something that could be fixed, but the shoes were still in great shape so I wanted to check. I brought them to Al's and he was able to pull a couple leather options to replace the inside. Unfortunately, he didn't have a perfect match on hand, but he did have a grey that would work. It was the interior so it wouldn't be visible anyway. He offered to clean them up for an additional $2, which was great! FYI - it's cash only! He requested a deposit so I provided $10 and brought the remaining $9 when I picked up my shoes a week later since I was in no rush. I have more shoes that will need polishing and conditioning so those will be going to Al's soon.

A real old fashion "Cobbler". Great work, fair prices. And he's a gentlemen! Just had my work boot heels repaired.

34 year old rebuilt bison leather boat shoes. Thank you, Mario!

This man is a Rembrandt with a needle! He resurrected my favorite 34 year old bison leather boat shoes that others had issued last rites to. The leather had rotted from the soles in 4 places from years of boating in fresh AND salt water, leaving openings in both shoes. They were faded, stiff, and weathered from neglect. The stitching was gone from the tops, and the rawhide laces were in bad shape. In less than 48 hours, he turned hardened gristle into filet mignon! And he did so for a measly $25. Because I was sure the materials alone cost that much, I overpaid him with pleasure. Mario is an old-school cobbler, whose pride in his work is surpassed only by that of his customers when they return to pickup their belongings. Reviews posted herewith are testament to his craftsmanship, honesty, and integrity.

10-year-old Clarks ready for another 10 winters. Thank you, good sir!

The sole of one my Clarks was departing after 10 years. The craftsman made my boots look new, and he exudes kindness. He cared about about my boots like the beloved companions they are, keeping my feet dry for miles of memories.

These shoes were filthy and now they are beautiful

Best workmanship. Prompt. Inexpensive. Reminded me of the Italian shoe makers on the lower east side of Manhattan 50 years ago

Repaired a pair of Johnston and Murphys I had handily abused for the past 7 years and they look great. All for $30. Highly recommended.

I brought my favorite Sperry's here to see if they could clean and refresh the leather and glue down one area on the side where the fabric had started to fray. When I received them back, the whole sole was glued around the shoe with globs of glue. They do not look refreshed at all, the leather in the front got damaged from I'm guessing how the shoe was clamped or a tool that was used. Also the stitching was frayed and damaged. I'm crushed that my favorite shoes were damaged like this and at a store that's supposed to fix shoes!! I went in to request a refund (which I did receive), but when I expressed my concerns for the damage done to my shoes, I was told that they did their best but that the shoes are older shoes. I don't know who's bringing new shoes to a repair and restore shop, but this is unacceptable service for either new or old. If they didn't think they could do the work, they should've never accepted it. Did I mention they require you to pay up front before any service is provided? Strongly do NOT recommend

Today I picked up a pair that was out for a cleaning and received the worst customer service by Don, one of their long term employees. I gave him an opportunity to correct his conduct by letting him know that he was not being customer friendly. Don shrugged and then wanted to know if I was dropping off another shoe. I said NO and that although I liked the quality of Sofia's service I also expected to be treated with basic respect. Again Don shrugged and gave me the impression that he could care less. Sadly they have lost not only my business but I will NEVER recommend them again. One bright note: Dave Kelly, who is on the Sofia business card (near the register) has served me most times I have dropped off my shoes. Dave has always been professional and consistent. He may be the owner. For 2017: I am being very clear about voting with my wallet. I will no longer support a business that does not provide consistent customer service.

I loved these comfortable shoes enough to spend the money and I spent $60.00 to have the soles covered by a professional shoe repairman. The shoes were supposed to be ready November 15th, I called several times and they were not complete. I called again yesterday and finally got a TXT today - they are ready!!! 2.5 months later. So Ken and drove the hour and a half to go get them. Here they are. The shop women said if they had covered the whole sole it would have been over $100. I told her if I had known this would be the finished product I would never have spent the $60. How unprofessional - how disappointing. They should have offered a refund and now after all this - my favorite slides are going in the trash.... Buyers who try to salvage a favorite beware - Don't go to Tonys' Shoe Repair. Well I can't post a picture I guess - they essentially put another sole on top and the toes show the old beat up original - it's awful. I should have read the reviews
