My husband and I had an exceptional experience at Casaplanta Nursery, and I cannot recommend it…read moreenough. The nursery is beautiful, with a wide variety of Talavera pots, fountains, statutes, and beautiful plants. Everything is thoughtfully organized, making it easy to browse and find exactly what you are looking for. One of our favorite parts of the visit was their variety of Talavera pots. They add such a beautiful artistic touch and really complement any yard perfectly. What really made my visit stand out, though, was Yollie's help. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. She took the time to answer all our questions, offered help, and made sure we left feeling confident about our purchase. Her friendly and approachable attitude made the whole experience enjoyable. If you are looking for quality plants, stunning Talavera pottery, and exceptional customer service, Casa Planta Nursery is it.

Such a lovely plant nursery. There are tons of gorgeous…read moreplants and flowers. Some prices are great but others not so much. But their plants and flowers are all beautifully displayed and in a healthy state. Every once in a while they gave massive sales but for only a select few plants. I just love walking around and enjoying the lovely plantings. It feels like a free tour. But I do buy a few beauties every time I go. Definitely worth a visit. Oh! I can't forget to acknowledge the workers. All so knowledgeable and friendly.

Bernie's has some of the best prices for rocks and a great selection…read more When you go, you can see the selection of rocks on display in trays. They have all sizes and a variety of types and colors. In general, imported stone tends to be more expensive, and domestic stone is much cheaper. The prices are labeled clearly, and there are notes of whether you can purchase by the bag or the cubic yard. If you buy by the yard, you'll need a pickup truck for them to load it. They'll scoop it using a backhoe; each cubic yard is 2 scoops. If you don't have a way to transport it, you can have it delivered for $85+ (depends on the distance of the delivery location). They also have a nice selection of decorative stones and stones that can be used as stepping stones, like flagstone. Every time I go, I want to take all of it home with me, because there is such a nice variety. They also have a little section as you walk in with some stepping stones and stones on the ground so you can see how some of the more popular rocks will look when they are all set out. The staff and owners are also very helpful and there is usually someone there who speaks both Spanish and English. They can give you an estimate of how much you'll need if you tell them the measurements of your space. My tip is to always get a little extra because you might need more than what you originally thought or you'll want some to fill in when the rocks settle or if some get kicked away (for the smaller ones).

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unlike anything I've encountered…read more I arrived before the 3:00 PM closing time listed on the website. After looking around, asking about prices (nothing was marked), and selecting one small rock that I carried myself to purchase, an employee signaled that they were closing. I immediately put the rock down and headed out. When I mentioned that the website says they close at 3:00 PM, I was told there is a sign stating they stop serving customers at 2:45 PM and to "have some heart" because it had been a long, hot day. I understood and was leaving. As I walked out, the woman told me to "get the fuck out." When I asked who the owner was, she said she was. I was genuinely stunned. It completely caught me off guard. I never expected to be spoken to that way by someone representing a business, especially someone who identified herself as the owner. If your policy is to stop serving customers at 2:45 PM, your website should clearly say that. There was no reason to treat a customer this way. I won't be returning.

After reading great reviews, I decided to pay Richard Lyons Nursery a visit and was glad I did. The property is a little tricky to find and from the street doesn't look that big, but once you enter, you will see the outside looks are deceiving. This place is packed with all sorts of ornamentals, fruit trees and other types of plants. After choosing several plants and having the sales ticket written up, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $40. Had I gone to another place in Kendall or a major retailer, I would have paid much more. I will definitely be back for more.

This isn't just a great nursery, they also have an amazing variety of mature rare specimen plants…read moreand trees. They have groves also which include jackfruit. We first discovered Lyons in our search for rare Atala butterflies to augment the population at our house... the folks at Montgomery botanical center had recently brought a population of Atala caterpillars to feed on Lyons sizable coontie selection. We were lucky to get a coontie with freshly laid eggs... that was in late September, and they emerged from their cocoons today (late October). They have a wonderful selection of butterfly larval and nectar plants. They have both local and exotic plants also including bamboo, heliconia, and more. When you arrive, park a short way in... a siren will announce your presence, and you'll soon be met by a guide in a golf cart. We've been four times so far, and each time we go we've discovered a new area, and new plants. As you wander around, make sure you look at the amazing mature specimens that dot the property.... such an amazing variety... it rivals a botanical garden!
