I pulled over and tried to fix it myself, but I was still four hours from my destination, it was getting dark, and as a young woman traveling alone, I was honestly scared. I arrived at Odessa Muffler and Brake right at closing time, expecting to be turned away. But instead, they greeted me with warmth and didn't hesitate to help. They stopped what they were doing and got to work on my car immediately; no questions asked, no judgment, just kindness. They spent an entire hour after closing carefully securing my bumper, checking my whole vehicle to make sure it was safe, and even discovered and fixed my muffler that was hanging off (which I had no idea about!). When I asked how much it would cost, they told me it was free. That kind of generosity is so rare, especially when they easily could have taken advantage of my situation. I didn't have much money, and this trip was an emergency, but because of them, I made it safely to El Paso and was able to spend precious time with my uncle before he passed the very next day. Just a heads up. …read more. These guys make up their own rates they do not post their labor cost in the office and if you ask, which i did multiple times, they say they will look into it and give you a good price. Ok lets get to the good part and why they fully deserve one star. First off, they are crooks. I brought my 2012 dodge avenger there for a simple radiator hose replacement. That was the ONLY thing i requested. A radiator hose is generally just a tube that can be put on in about 30 minutes MAX bland the part even from dodge is only $15 the highest is $25. Nobody called the next day to tell me if they found a part, the cost, or asked if i wanted the part to be put on, NO ESTIMATES! I had to call and ask whats the status, thats when they said oh we are done.. Shocking.. Nobody told me anything. So i asked how much it was and the guy says ill tell u when u get here.. Thats when i knew i was going to get an outrageous price. But i went to pick up my car. When i get there, the guy sits at the desk, doesnt say anything (guilty conscience) he is just typing the whole time. Hands me a paper and says there you go. $279! SERIOUSLY FOR A REPLACED RADIATOR HOSE THATS IT! so im heated as soon as i see the charge and i ask where the hell do u get these prices! So apparently he brought a $89 hose, and said its directly from dodge lol i show him dodges replacement hose $15 TO $25 MAX and he says oh well it came with a replacement cap... FUCKIN IDIOT THE CAP ISNT DAMAGED AND ITS A TWIST ON CAP! then he says oh we charged 115 for labor and it took us AN HOUR AND A HALF! i think you guys get it... Hose, 15 to 25, i paid more than 100 total for the part (which i doubt was the part he showed me only because he couldnt give me a receipt for the part or warranty print out) and a 30 minute job took an hour and half... Hmmmm... Yea right. Go here at your own risk. I could only imagine how many people got done like me with no Vaseline lol but didnt speak up. YOU WILL GET ROCKED BY PRICES TRUST ME DO NOT DO IT!
