This is a nice affordable car wash down Lake Forest Road. Especially on hot days it's fun to wash this one the car yourself because they have the self car wash. This is a fun family event as well. At least for us, it was when the kids were younger, especially! Additionally, this car wash is the only one that I could think of that's local, that provides the opportunity to wash one's own car. My kids and I have always enjoyed watching the multicolored soap and car wax being sprayed on our car during the washing cycle. See video clip of my kid's expressions. If you like. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because, there were about five spots that needed a little bit more effort than a very strong spray of water. On 5/26, the payment machine for touch-less wash said it was verifying my card, then went back to the beginning ("Welcome"). I waited a few minutes to see if the wash would start, but it didn't. So I tried my card again, and it worked the second time. Only to learn it charged me twice for one wash. This happened a year ago, but at the time, I let it go. Not this time. I wonder how much $ has been taken from customers at this establishment in this fashion. I have disputed the charge with my bank. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The automatic wash has twice now, in the last three months, not started operating after I pay and pull in. The only part that seems to work is the underbody blaster when I drive in. I stop when it says to stop, and then it just sits there for minutes. After waiting I try to trigger its sensors by pulling forward or backward until it tells me to stop again. Then eventually it shuts off completely. No wash. It is a good place to go and wash your vehicle. I was there around 8:30 am, and to my surprise, lots of people actually come through here. The have an actual automated car wash, you drive the car through, then pull up to the vacuuming area. I did not use the automated service. I used the washing Bay Area to do it myself. Pull up into the bay, put some dollar coins or 25 cents into the machine slot. $2.25 for 4 minutes or $5.00 for like 15 minutes. I did the $5.00 and it was just enough time to rinse the vehicle, then spray it with soapy water, then pass the foaming soft brush over the vehicle, then rinse again, then a spot-free rinse, plus a wheel rinse. I worked fast, it was plenty of time. Even if I had to pay another $2.25, it is still cheap. Then I pulled into the vacuuming area just to dry the vehicle. I did not use the vacuum. But the bay equipment worked great. Spray gun worked as designed and so did the foaming brush. No complaints there. There was lots of sand or mud as you drive out the Bay Area, but no big deal. I really like this self car wash. These types are hard to find. I drive a Chevy truck and I race ATV's, so I need a place wash them both after a race day. The wash bays accept credit cards with a tap system. The equipment doesn't smell moldy. The brush handles don't have sharp edges that cut your hands. The soft brushes don't scratch the the vehicle(be sure to always power rinse the brush before using in case of dirt, sand, etc). There are tire and wheel brushes with a soap dispenser. The brush gets into the wheel openings surprisingly well. The bays are very tall and easily accessible if pulling a trailer. The vacuums also have credit card tap systems. The vacuums work great. Some people give low stars because there isn't a attendant and some bays may have mud in them. Well, it's a self car wash and life isn't perfect. read more

Nice place to come for a quick self wash. They have great water pressure and I've never had any station run out of detergent. Can't speak on the attached brush (as I wouldn't recommend to use any car washes brushes as they can be prone to scratch paint). I stopped to have my car washed at Al's 24 Hour Auto Spa on Lake Forest Dr. in Lake Forest. I wanted to try the robotic arm auto wash and let it wash and wax my car. I paid $10 in cash for the premium wash. A speaker tells you to drive in slowly as underground water jets clean the undercarriage of the car. Then your told to stop to let the robotic arm wash & wax the car. There are 5 cycles. 1. cleaning cycle. 2. washing ... 3. tri-foam ... 4. sealant ... & 5. spot free air dry cycle. It's cool to see the robotic arm wash & wax the car as it travels around the car for each cycle. Then your told to leave the auto bay when it's finished. They do have vacuums available to use after the car wash at an additional cost. I have had my car damaged in the past by one of those car washes with the brushes, never again! There are VERY few, if any other self-wash car washes in the area. This place is clean, everything works well and I'm saving a ton of money by washing my own car. There are change machines, as well as coin-operated vending machines for towels. The vacuums work well. Also, you can use a credit card for the car wash, or you can use quarters. Best deal is $5 for 11 minutes. There is one bay that has an automated car wash - like the type of car wash you find at a gas station. I haven't tried it yet, but it's available 24 hours a day, so eventually I will likely give it a try most likely. read more
