Is this a real company? They showed up at our house without us calling them and started trying to blow out our sprinklers. I tried calling the phone number on google and the message said the call could not be completed as dialed. This seems like a scam to me. Why would they just show up at our house without us calling them and start working without ringing our doorbell or asking permission? read more

Worst experience I've had with a "professional" company. We hired Alpine View to install a retaining wall and artificial turf, complete job totaling about $6500. First, during the quote process, we were told that there would be a border around our artificial turf, which was confirmed by one of the workers during the prep portion of the project. No border was ever installed. We were told that a border wasn't needed even though we are installing rubber mulch and 3/4" gravel around the turf. Next, on the quote it stated that the portion behind the retaining wall would be backfilled until the existing slope was matched. We were then asked to pay extra labor and material to backfill the retaining wall. Before the backfill was brought in, I had to call the owner and inform him that if they install this backfill, 22 yards of material, without installing side retaining walls against each fence, the fences will not be able to hold the weight of the material. He seemed confused but agreed. Luckily, we had a row of blocks that wasn't needed for the wall to offset the cost of the block for the side retainers, otherwise they would have tried to charge me for that too!! When it came to the extra labor and material for the backfill, this took about a week of emails and texts back and forth to finally get the owner to "unwillingly and unrightfully" (his words) include the labor in his quote and I agreed to pay for the extra material, even though my in-law, who is a general contractor, said I shouldn't have even paid for that. The retaining wall looks great and the grass is awesome, even thought no border yet. Just can't believe that we had to go round and round for them to honor their original quote. Personal side note, don't be a jerk to children. When the owner came out to put the extra material behind the retaining wall, my kids, 4 and 6, were so excited to see the bobcat loader show up at our house. My 4 yr old son was trying to say hi to the owner before he ever got in the loader, who ignored him. This happened multiple times, very unprofessional!! read more

We moved into a new home on the SE side of Bend in 2015, Barry was recommended to us by another contractor while we were waiting for our home to be finished. Alpine View were hired by my house rental company to shut down the garden sprinkler system at the end of the year. I went to turn the sprinklers back on this year and could not get them to work. No problem, I will call Alpine and ask them where they shut off the water as I have tried all the obvious methods...3 calls - no response. Emailed their "contact us" no response ... and it has now been 3 weeks... All I was asking for was a phone call to tell me what they did. I get this isn't a money maker phone call for them, but this is basic customer service. read more

Initially what prompted my husband and I to contact Barry with Alpine View was the Synlawn he was showcasing at the 2015 CO lawn and garden show. We knew we wanted that for our new house that we would be building. I contacted Barry regarding that and to also see if he would be interested in doing the whole project. Keep in mind that every contractor in Central Oregon is upside down busy (our painting company as well). I called, left a message and BOOM! he got right back to me. we set a time and day to meet, and we did! Barry is the consummate listener. He asked questions, listened to what our needs were and had great input. Most importantly throughout the project he kept me up to date, what was happening, etc through text or phone calls. if I had a question he was back to me within minutes. We absolutely love how he has transformed our yard and his crew!! They were awesome, hardworking and incredibly nice. We can't say enough. Initially, Barry was incredibly responsive when we wanted our entire back yard re-landscaped. He did a great job on the large project, but we have requested a few additions and he is MIA. We realize everyone is busy during this season, but some communication would be great. We are very disappointed in the follow through once the "big job" was finished. read more
