So it is noce to be able to go to a single practice and have one side for the kids and the other side for the adults. Now I can just schedule my work when livi needs her work. Andrea is my hygienist and she has taken excellent care of my teeth. This is by far the most thorough cleaning I have ever had. Very knowledgeable and savvy. Like a good mom. I was greeted immediately by Michelle, who I had been speaking with on the phone to set up the appointment. Nice to place a face with a name! She was professional, courteous, and of course, let me know it would only be a couple minutes before I was up. Sure enough, within 4 minutes Beate came out and introduced herself as my hygienist for the day. Pleasant, professional, and super thorough- my cleaning went about as flawlessly as could be expected. She spoke about the things she was doing so that I didn't wonder what was happening. Sometimes in the past, I have been delayed or waited a long time to see the Dr. when the cleaning was wrapping up. Dr. Bowns was in to see me within 2 minutes of finishing with Beate. He is pleasant, easy to talk with, and I found it refreshing that I was in and out of the office in less than one hour. They will bill my insurance company, and if there is anything I have extra I'll get a call. I walked in and was immediately greeted and given a tour of the office. Then I was taken to a consultation room and given a welcome letter and a gift bag, all before I had even seen a dentist. I was walked to my exam room sat down, and leaned back and realized that the it was a massage chair! Because it's been so long since I've seen the dentist, I was given a thorough consultation by Pam the dental technician, she was so great. The cleaning went well although I hate the process Pam made sure I was comfortable. Then the doctor came in and came up with a game plan to get my teeth back in order. I have bounced around 3 different dentists over the past 2 years, and all of them tried to do things without telling me how much it was going to cost or charged me more than my insurance company's policy had stated. Most of them were unnecessary procedures too. Not only was Dr. Edwards honest and friendly, he was incredibly thorough, explained everything upfront and didn't do anything that I didn't need done. He also does a free mouth cancer screening with every visit. Something Imagix would have charged me $50 for. In general, I feel like dentist are in somewhat of a conflict of interest. They make money when you have bad teeth, but are supposed to encourage you to have a good teeth. They caneasly take advantage of people who haven't had 4 years of dentistry school. Dr. Edwards explained everything he did, was thorough, and gave me several ideas to help out my cavity prone teeth. Needless to say, I was impressed.
