I brought home my new German Shepard two days ago from Alabama Canine. He is AWESOME and…read moreunbelievably well trained!!! I haven't had a dog in over 20 years...and I was nervous...puppies are cute but I knew I needed a dog with a strong foundation in obedience; I wouldn't be very good at housebreaking, keeping off of furniture, chewing, running away with the leash -- and all of those "cute" things that puppies do. After literally years of talking about it, I took a chance and trusted the judgment and skill of Emily Richardson at Alabama Canine. She suggested a puppy with just the right temperament, and then that puppy stayed with her for board and train for a few months. My cuz and I picked him up last Sunday, and then started the 4 day, almost 1800 mile drive home to Las Vegas. He was PERFECT! He spent all day in SUV in his crate, entertaining himself better than most adults on such a long drive. No whining, no barking, no accidents, nothing. He had his deer antler and his squeaky toy....and he really was perfect. Each night at the hotel he always let us know he had to go outside to do his biz. Even though he is still a puppy, and everyday was something new with brand new people, he was always happy and loving -- he LOVES people! We got home two days ago, and he has settled in as if he's lived in Vegas his whole life :-). I asked Emily to train him for the pool in addition to his obedience training....and he is swimming laps! We all have so much fun just watching him chase his ball in the water. But most importantly....Emily spent the time on pick-up day going thru his training with me, wrote down all I needed to know about transferring his training to me, and off we went. Now that we are home, we practice his training every day, and he is so much better behaved than I ever hoped for. Took to his doggie door immediately for the outside biz. Finally, I want to say that Emily texted (is that a word?) me pictures, updates and little videos of his training almost every day -- and it really may have been every single day. I'm so grateful to her and Alabama Canine for my beautiful well-behaved puppy. Sally Miller

Brandon and Nicole absolutely delivered! I received fun updates, adorable pictures, and even video calls whenever I needed a check-in. The training results were fantastic--Loki now walks calmly on a leash, comes when called, and actually listens to commands! It was exactly what I asked for, and they nailed it. He got to socialize, play in the beautiful turfed yard, and most importantly, he was treated like family. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Loki loved it there, and I could tell he had the best time learning and growing. Huge thanks to The Copper Cottage Canines for turning basic obedience into a fun, positive, tail-wagging success!

It took us a long time to find a trainer that I trust. I am very protective over my babies and very…read morepicky when it comes to leaving them with someone else. With that being said, I could make a LIST of expectations that Copper Cottage Canines met and far exceeded! After getting to know the owners we dropped our boys off for training a few months ago (for context, we have two large pit bulls). The results have been nothing short of incredible. I was even able to get birthday pictures of them with hats on, sitting still with a big steak infront of them, which is extremely impressive if you know my two! I would trust them to walk on a leash with my 80year old grandma! Not only did they help shape better daily behavior and obedience, but they treated my boys with the same love, patience, and care that I would. That kind of trust is rare and priceless. They truly go above and beyond, not just in training but in building a relationship with each dog. Rockee (my oldest) was with them on his birthday. They sent me a video of the whole staff singing happy birthday to him. You can tell this isn't just a job to them--it's a passion and that makes all the difference to me. If you're looking for someone who will treat your dogs like family and deliver real results, this is the only place I would ever recommend. I wouldn't trust anyone else with the two most important parts of my life.

This place is a joke, I took my baby there and yes he had lots of hair and I understood they may…read moreneed to cut him a little shorter then the normal length this isn't my first rodeo with him having tangles but this is the third time I took him to this spot. The first time was ok but still very short the second time that groomer did a great job on both my babies. But this last time I literally thought they were bringing out the wrong dog no kidding. I mean they shaved his face and tail why??? They could have at least called me and asked me if I was ok with them shaving as much as they did. My baby has zero hair left. If they didn't want to take the time to try to comb it as much as possible they shouldn't be in business, I don't know who the owner is but clearly I've been warned by others posting this same issue so shame on me for giving them another chance. But most of all shame on the owner for poor business practices, if I could give zero stars I would because this place is over charging way to much to not satisfying their customers

I gave them a one star because there was not any lesser to give. I dropped my wife's dog (golden…read moredoodle) off and gave them specific instructions (twice) on how to cut him. There was a dog in the office with a similar cut I described. I told them do not touch the tail or the ears. When I left, they seemed to understand. We picked him up a few hours later and I thought they had given her the wrong dog. He got into the truck and he looked as if he had entered boot-camp. They had cut every bit of hair off him with the ecception of about a two inch puff on the tip of the tail. My brother saw him and asked when we got our blue-tick. For those that are unaware a blue-tick is a hound dog. I should have known better and "had" told her to take him somewhere else because last visit when I picked him up, he was gapped so bad it looks like a four-year-old had gotten hold of the scissors and gave their own haircut. Those with children remember those cuts. My advice to you is if you find yourself near this business, hit the gas and don't stop. Unless you want your dog to look like a survivor from P.O.W. camp.
