I contacted Alpha Foundations about mid-June to set-up an appointment regarding a sagging hallway floor. Colin McQuillen came out about a week later to inspect the inside, outside and underneath my house. He took his measurements and verified my sagging floor concerns. He did say the rest of my house was fine and he could not find any other concerns regarding my foundation. There was no pressure to sign a contract. I voiced my concerns about having to leave my house for repairs, because of horror story reviews I read about other foundation repair companies. He sat down with me, explained the process, showed me the measurements he took with the lay-out of my house, and answered all of my questions. The quote that I was given was about a thousand dollars off what I was thinking, which is pretty good. Colin was very patient and extremely friendly. I'm not use to contract companies taking their time with me to make sure that I have all questions and concerns addressed. I felt so much better that I signed my contract that day with Alpha Foundations. Colin did warn me that the City of Jacksonville was a few months behind on approving permits for foundation improvements and repair. Two months later, I got a phone call from William to schedule my appointment. I was told that I would be contacted the day before by a Foreman with a time. Ethan Johns sent me a text message informing me of his arrival time for the day of the scheduled work order. Ethan is an absolute sweetheart! He was always smiling, very polite, and made sure to address my questions and concerns. He reviewed the work order, did a walk through in my house and crawlspace to make sure that he understood my repair issue. Ethan did explain that it would take about two hours for him and Josh to do the repair, and I would hear a lot of banging and tapping. (Well, the banging and tapping was not that bad...my kids were able to complete their schoolwork.) Ethan and Josh stayed busy the entire time at my residence. They did not take a lot of breaks, like contractors I've hired in the past to do other projects. Come to think about it...I don't think they took a break at all. When Ethan and Josh completed the installation of my floor beam, they made sure that I was happy with the level of my hallway floor. Ethan made sure to show me and send me pictures of the work that was completed under my house. The estimated time that was given to complete my project was spot on. I feel so much better about walking in my hallway and not feeling off balance. My kids even mentioned that it's nice having a flat hallway floor again. In the future, I do have plans of having additional work done to my crawl space. The only people I want involved with that project is Ethan Johns and his co-worker Josh, because they were quick, clean, hardworking, and courteous. I highly recommend Alpha Foundations! Our family was blessed to find Alpha Foundations and our entire experience with the team has been amazing!!! Talking with Zach during our initial meeting sealed the deal for us because he presented as a person of integrity and he answered all of our questions with patience and kindness and thoroughly explained the process and details regarding the work that was needed for our home. When the work began, the "lifting team" consisting of Tyler, Brandon and Grant were phenomenal! They had great personalities, were cordial and kind, and worked diligently for two days straight for very long hours with a 100+ GA heat index, while maintaining positive, cheerful dispositions. They explained the process and answered all of our questions concerning the process of the pilings being drilled down and the home being lifted. It appeared that they were taking the same type care that they would have if it was their own home. The interior crew, Shane and Flint, were also extremely polite and very detailed explaining how the foam would fill the gap of open space that was created under the home after the lifting process. They were personable and worked consistently throughout the day, only stopping when we asked questions. Overall, this has been a great experience!!! I feel extremely confident in choosing Alpha Foundations. Our family had interviewed two local companies in Ga and then asked Alpha to come from Florida to give us a quote. Alpha Foundations was, by far, the company that soared to the top of the list. Our foundation beams were repaired or replaced. As this is an expensive repair we were very concerned with the process. Our crew was very easy to work with, professional, punctual and kept us informed of the progress of the job. Due to a close crawl space, this job was dirty, demanding and challenging. Zach did the initial inspection. He did a thorough job, provided pictures and solutions to the problems. The price of the job caused me concern so I had another foundation company do an inspection. Both inspections found the same fundamental problems, proposed similar solutions and priced similarly. The issue which swayed me to Alpha, was the ability of the Alpha crew to complete the repairs without removing my floors. The crew of Will, Freddy, Miguel and Darion worked through rain, hot weather, and a tight crawl space to replace a damaged beam, repair damaged rafters and stabilized other beams. They arrived on time, with required tools and materials, and always were friendly and easy to work with. Zach proposed several phases for the total stabilization of the house. I chose to have the most serious problems addressed at this time. Due to the easy process and professional team, I will probably have Alpha address the other issues in the future. When it comes to rating the Alpha Foundation crew that came to my home, a five star rating isn't good enough. The service that was provided to me, was beyond excellent. I was sent an information packet per mail prior to my appontment. The free consultation was with Luke, he took percise measurments of the areas where my foundation settled. Reviewed the findings, plan and pricing. He was patient with all my questions and concerns. There was never any presser for me to commit. Thanks, you were great. My experience with Alpha Foundations and the team that performed the work, start to finish, was exceptional. As my first contact, Jordan provided clear and in-depth explanations of the encapsulation process, including multiple photos of the space beneath my home to help me understand how encapsulation would help protect my home. He followed up on all my questions and helped make the contract process go smoothly. The team that performed the work (Will, Ryan and Freddy) were always professional and courteous. Over the course of the two day job, they kept the work area clean and organized, I was never inconvenienced. I was particularly impressed with the level of communication throughout. I chose Alpha Foundations from looking on their website and reading their reviews. They had very good reviews. My contact rep Bryce Peterson was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and convinced me this was the proper process to use in my situation. My driveway had a 24 x 12 section of concrete that had lowered by 1 inch due to erosion. The poly level product was the perfect answer, it raised the section little by little while we watched. The installers were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions as we progressed. The finishing look was as good as new and I didn't half to knock out and replace that section of concrete. I can now build my new two car carport on top of that repaired section of driveway with out it being so unlevel and having to shim it. Very pleased with everything and highly recommend it . I highly recommend Alpha. I was interested in encapsulating my crawlspace, which is so low that average sized technicians can't fit under there. Despite the close quarters making encapsulation impossible, the Alpha technician first told me they couldn't do the job, but then got his head and camera under there to assess whether it is a space that needs encapsulation. He made recommendations for things I could do myself to improve the moisture situation and reduce my concerns regarding potential dry wood termite and other pest infestations. read more
