I had an inspection done on a 1920"s house that I am interested in. I had very mixed emotions on buying a very old house vs buying a newer one. Luke Harrington put my mind at ease right away when he started to discuss with me what he was going to do for the inspection and to ask any and every question I like. Luke mentioned that he owns an older home himself and he does a ton of older home inspections. Luke was extremely through. He answered any questions any of our us had.(Just a recommendation don't bring your whole family and friends with you to the inspection. It gets overwhelming for yourself and I would think the Inspector) :o) The questions we asked he answered in layman's terms so we could understand what he was saying completely. If Luke found something he thought was questionable he would call me, show me and explain what should be done. Luke inspected the house for a complete 3+ hours. I was extremely happy and I will totally recommend Luke and Alpha Building Inspections to my family and friends who need something inspected. At the end of Luke's inspection he downloaded all the information he had on his phone to his laptop so he could give us a snapshot of what we will be receiving via email. Thank was great because I knew I wouldn't be shocked when I read the inspection. The Inspection was sent to me only a few hours after our inspection. That floored me. For such a long inspection I opened my email up a few hours later and there it was waiting for me to read. Before Luke left for the day he gave me his business card and on the back he wrote his mobile number. He said do not hesitate to call him if I have any questions or if the seller has any questions. When Luke said that to me I felt more comfortable about the inspection and the house. The Inspection Document was way more than I ever could expected. The document was about 58 pages and it had every acceptable, non acceptable, major and minor things that needed to be fixed. The document was completely thorough. The document had in it every inch of the 1920's house I'm interested in. Jim Reid was amazing!! As a first-time home buyer, he gave me an education on the basics of plumbing and electrical information including suggested maintenance which was extremely informative, easy to follow, and greatly appreciated. He pointed out every flaw that he saw and explained the issues and fixes for them all. Not only did he point out the flaws, he also mentioned the various aspects of the place that were great and above standard. At the conclusion of the inspection, he showed me all the pictures he had taken over two days (one set when he pre-set up the radon test equipment and the second set during the scheduled inspection) and made sure I understood each picture and what it showed and the repairs I could make to fix the issues. The full, detailed report was emailed to me within a couple of hours from the end of the inspection. I would, hands down, recommend Jim to anyone for a home inspection. read more

Luke is an amazing asset to the Alpha team. For first time home buyers, Luke did an awesome job communicating to us so we could understand the process from start to finish. He was there early and stayed late, he looked over every square inch of this house, and told us everything that was going on from loose door hindges to small wires that were incorrectly terminated. He even found a piece of siding on one end of the house, about half way up, that had a hole the size of a dime. He had all the latest technology to work with, and he made sure to utilize every piece of it. Luke Harrington performed our multifamily inspection for the home we are attempting to buy. He showed up early to do the exterior so we would not have to stand outside in the cold. He was professional and made sure to keep us informed during the entire inspection. Tom Pelletier was our home inspector. He was nothing but professional, knowledgeable and timely. He made sure all parties present for the inspection knew exactly how he would be conducting the inspection as well as what to expect during the inspection. Luke Harrington was our Inspector and did an amazing job: he was very thorough in in his inspection and pointed out different areas that we just would not see during a home showing. He was energetic, descriptive, and very responsive to our questions and concerns. I formerly conducted industrial and commercial Phase I & II Environmental site assessments and transactions screens, so am very picky about the quality of work that I expect for an inspection. The house is pretty unique and he appreciated it's character and had the best attitude. He was thorough and meticulous which I appreciated but he was also personable and friendly which I'm very grateful for.
