The older woman who waited on me was incredibly rude. I came to pick up my drapes late in the morning on the day that I had asked them to be done by, and they hadn't even started on them yet. I asked the woman why they let me pick the day that I wanted to pick them up if they weren't going to be ready, and she told me, "The day isn't over yet."
No, I didn't have the time to kill 4 or 5 hours to wait for them to finally get around to cleaning my drapes after having them for a week. She asked me when I was going to be able to come back to pick them up. Well, I don't know since I don't live in Alpena. That's why I picked the day that I wanted them done in the first place--so I could pick them up after a doctor appointment. I asked her just to call me when they were done, and I'd see what I could do. It took another week to get the call.
I should have just taken my drapes back and left when they weren't ready the first time. I bought these about 10 years ago through JCPenney. They were expensive, so I didn't want to retire them yet. Alpena Dry Cleaning charged me more to clean them than I would have spent on new ones at Walmart. And then the same older woman got snarky and said that she had actually miscalculated, and it should have cost even more. The backing came off of some of them during the cleaning process, we were told. I haven't been able to assess the damage yet because we're still painting, and I haven't taken the drapes out of their bags yet.
Alpena Dry Cleaning, you got my business once, and you charged me double what I thought the job was worth and possibly ruined my items. That won't happen again, trust me. I will be spreading the word far and wide that it's better to find somewhere else, even if you have to go downstate. read more
