Great Store! Nice people. Now my wife knows ---- I phoned back after vacation and ordered the beautiful Jacket she had admired! IT ARRIVED TODAY.... owner is terribly condescending and I would not recommend anyone spend their money here. I asked for a higher end product and before she even showed me the product told me the price and said "if you want it, I'll take it out." I was disgusted with her attitude so I said no thanks. Her response? "I THOUGHT SO!" Only when I mentioned I got one from a name brand store in Peru did she change her tune. How can a retail shop employee (apparently owner) arrogantly presume, I can't afford it? I don't even get this type of treatment back home in NYC. I definitely felt a Pretty Woman moment. Sucks to be her because she lost a huge sale. If I knew to ask for that product I obviously knew its higher end. Do yourself a favor and purchase online from Sol Alpaca for similar prices. BUYER BEWARE! This store is very shady in how it operates, not to mention its outrageous pricing and discounting tricks! Sales staff was very friendly during my initial visit, but gave me the complete runaround when I tried to do a return on an item I purchased. First the rep said she didn't know how to use the credit card machine for the return, then claimed to call the store manager for authorization (which the so-called manager refused), then outright refused to accept the return claiming the store had a no return policy that should have been written on the receipt. I did leave the product at the store and had my credit card company stop the charge, but they really made it difficult and VERY confrontational. read more

It was amazing! As soon as I stepped into the store, I was greeted immediately and shown the latest trends. I felt welcome and respected. the service from the employees was awesome, and they were all in an uplifting mood. I came here with my mom while we were just browsing the streets, and I walked out of the store with a small, stuffed alpaca for my friend. Yes, it is pricey, but alpaca fur is warm, soft, and comfortable. The way I picked the alpaca: The woman behind the counter was very kind and telling us the prices and what the products were made of, (obviously alpaca fur). But, she had shown me a stuffed alpaca, the one I ended up buying, and she said it was her favorite. I couldn't find any other purchases I wanted to make for my friend, so she offered to sell her FAVORITE alpaca to me! Also, if you couldn't think it would get better than that, it does. The alpaca was originally $70. Yes, I know it is pricey but it's alpaca fur. She gave us a discount and gave it to us for $60! Overall, I would recommend this store to anybody! I came to Park City with my family for the 2016 holidays. On our last day of our vacation, specifically Friday December 30 in the afternoon, we stopped by Main Street to do a bit of shopping before hitting the road back home to San Diego. I was delighted to see Alpaca International because I recently went to Peru in May of 2016, and visited their sister store in Cusco. Upon walking in I was greeted by an older caucasian woman. I was really excited, and mentioned that I had visited their store in Peru. She replied, "Oh did you actually buy anything there?" .. I was taken aback by her question, but didn't think anything of it at first - I know this store has "expensive" items .. and to any normal human being I would think they would share the same sentiment that pure alpaca items are just pricey in general .. but why is she asking me this? She then proceeded to tell me "There is a clearance section in the back" .. not verbatim .. I may have replaced "sale" with "clearance" but that is what she said to me more or less. Never in my entire 30 years of being on this Earth have I ever felt so belittled and patronized. I immediately felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Except, I thought this sh*t only happens in the movies. Guess this sh*t actually happens in real life. I don't typically pull the "race card" .. but is it because I am Asian? And not white? Like 99.99% of the Park City tourists? Furthermore, I was with my younger 14 year old sister, and I felt disgusted that she was there to hear and witness this event. She is smart enough to know what this old woman was saying to me was absolutely patronizing and disrespectful. In all honestly, Park City is overrated. The snow in Utah is amazing - I may agree to their touting that they do have the best snow on Earth, - but the people there .. thumbs way way way down. I'd rather stick to my sh*tty California snow than come back to a place where people are not forward thinking. The lady at this store was not the only encounter of feeling patronized by the people who work and/or visit Park City, mind you. There were multiple instances of myself or my family members feeling mistreated and disrespected for no reason. We are educated. We are a family of good moral standing. We came here to have a fun, family vacation. But again, hate to pull the race card, but I don't have any other reason for the horrible encounters with some of the people here in this resort. To the owners of this store, with the specific day and time given in the initial paragraph - I hope you can look at your past schedules and figure out who it is. Next time, not that there will be a next time, should I come carrying a wad of cash and flail it around in the air to let you guys know I have money to spend or something to avoid being treated like sh*t? read more

I had a very similar experience to Janel L. Never in my life have I ever entered a store and felt unwelcomed and treated poorly. One woman who worked in the store told me I get a free pen if I bought one of the clearance coats. She then laughed at me and said something in another language to the other sales person. This is my go-to store every winter when I go to Park City to ski. The clothes there are gorgeous, fabulous quality, and never seem to wear out. Alpaca is extremely warm, comfortable, exquisite to view and to touch, and is well worth every penny. I bought a coat there last year and have worn it every day this winter in Chicago's cold and gusty weather. It is warmer than my warmest down coat and I get compliments on it everywhere. The wraps I purchased a few years ago are still in perfect condition, even though I have worn them many times, and I never tire of them. I have always found the service to be excellent and gracious. Zia and her assistants are kind and helpful. I think that the prices are fair for the quality and styling of their merchandise and for how special it is! Friendly sales team and quality, unique designs for the soft, light, warm Alpaca wool. Bought a handmade floral collar to go over a cream long sleeved sweater and have received many compliments. Will shop again! From shearing to carding to spinning to woven fabric and cut and sew, the prices might seem high but are great for the delicate fabric created. Was hard to decide what to purchase and ended up going back for more items. Highly recommend. read more

NO STARS!! Me and a friend were browsing through the store. A woman approached us and asked if we needed any help. We said we were okay and that we were just looking. A few minutes later she approached us again and asked if we needed any help. Again, we said we were just looking. She approached the person I was with and asked this person what were they going to buy, and asked again what we needed help with. I approached her and asked her what was the problem. I could see my companion was uncomfortable. I asked her what was the problem because she repeatedly asked us the same questions over and over. I asked for the store owner and she said she was. She stated we had an agenda, I was perplexed as to her accusation and responded by telling her there were other people in the store longer than we were. Long story short, I had to file a police report. In sum, the most AWFUL, HORRID shopping experience, EVER. The store owner lacks good business sense, as you don't attack customers for perusing your store. I can never recommend her store to others. My recommendation to anyone visiting Park City is to skip this store or other stores this person owns. Take your business somewhere else. read more

I received excellent service at this location. I needed to purchase gifts for my bridal party and found a lovely alpaca pashmina that came in a ton of different colors. I originally selected a rust/pumpkin color but soon realized it would not pop well in the pictures and could give our fall wedding an undesired Halloween feel. Debra spent a lot of time with me on the phone and emailing me photos until we found the right color and then helped me with the exchange which was a bit complex given the 4 new apple green pashminas came from different stores. FIVE STARS!!! Two of these reviews are totally contradictory to what I experienced. I think there's more behind their story than what they are leading us to believe. The women in this store are super nice, courteous, attentive and helpful. Customer service is excellent and trustworthy!! I was shopping with a friend and saw a coat that I really liked that was on sale for 30% off + no sales tax if shipped directly to my home but I pay shipping. Being that the prices are steep to begin with, I told the sales lady that I had to think it over and speak with my husband about it. She offered to put it on hold for me so that it would be there when I returned (it was the only one left in my size). My husband said I could get the coat. That night, I googled the store and saw that there was an offer for free shipping. The next day we went back into the store, the coat was still there on hold for me and I mentioned the free shipping offer on their website to the sales lady. She was not aware of such an offer and brought over Zia Boccaccio, the manager/owner. Zia also was not aware of the offer, looked at it on my phone and said that she was going to have to contact her website developers on Monday to check into it but in the meantime would honor the free shipping for me without any hesitation. Zia graciously sold me the coat for 30% off + no sales tax for direct shipment to my house + free shipping. The coat arrived at my home within 1 week, no problems. Zia contacted her website developers regarding the offer and apparently the free shipment offer belonged to Peruvian Connection, but the Map of the store being shown in the advertisement was for her location of Alpaca International in Park City, UT. Zia agreed it was confusing and miss-leading (not to mention that it misrepresented her store) but she still honored the free shipping for me without hassle or question!!
