Came here for a Celebration of Life in the conference room, Nice place, you do have to walk a bit to get there, located behind the main box office by the volcano art work. On your walk there you can see a lot of memorabilia, Marcus Mariota, Charlie Wedemeyer.

Security was posted within the audience seated throughout the concert. The ac was strong. An older crowd in the audience. The row in front of us had their heads bobbing to the music. The performer had local guests sing a duet with him, had BYU choir on stage, the Honolulu symphony Orchestra plus his own band performing. Glad there were two large screens to see Josh Groban sing. Helps when large and tall people sit in front of you at the last possible moment. Felt almost like a gospel vibe to me but could be cuz I was not familiar with the majority of his songs.

It's so off and confusing to where it's at. But, it is a decent place to have most events! If it's for a concert... Like we just went to for UB40? UH DUH!!! TOTALLY % YES!!! Why? Cause you'll be able to enjoy the show and SEE IT from the seats your in rather than watch los rod it ON A JUMBO SCREEN. Plus too, there are different choices of seating. Most people love the UPPER LEVELS. Yet, the stairs are a killer! AND... NO BARS so everything is balance and grace. But if your like me who USE TO LOVE IT, but don't anymore cause you worry your legs will give... well, there's the ground floor that has bleachers of seats. The seats are so much better NOW than they were before. So, highly recommend the ground floor for those who refuses to walk up stairs. Then there's the lodges. K those are GREAT, yet, my fear is falling OVER the ledge. And the stairs you MIST WALM UP to get there too! Lol! It's been a while since I've sat in this arena for anything. I think the last time was for a concert back in 2013! LADIES OF THE 80's with the hubby. Hehehe there were so much hubbies there that night. It was unbelievable! Anywho... great place to be at for events, concerts and whatnot. But terrible place to use heels and tight clothes (if you know what I mean) Oh! Prices varies with type of events and I truly honestly believe it's absolutely RIDICULOUS sometimes. However, I get it, bills must be paid and people must be bought to make the event go smoothly! Okie dokes artichokes! Have a good one and mahalo for reading... CIAO!

The workers were helpful, check in for the party was smooth, and having our own reserved tables upstairs really helped. It does get a little warm upstairs as we were right next to the pizza making but we cooled down quickly once we were on the ice. Sidenote: the pizza had no business tasting that good. Located at 4510 Salt Lake Blvd, in Stadium Mall shopping center which is Diamond Head of Aloha Stadium. It has plenty of free parking. Hours vary depending on the day due to ice hockey team practices, their games and skating lessons. Sometimes rink is closed for a week to two weeks for maintenance so be sure to check website first. Saturday hours are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm then close down and reopen at 5:00ish for the evening customers. Ticket prices are reasonable at $18 for all ages and include the skates. Must bring own socks. If you are not skating and merely a chaperone for young keiki, I didn't get charged. No outside food or flasks allowed. We were there Saturday morning and staff handing out the skates were quick and efficient so it went fast. You just tell them your size shoe and they're back in a flash with the skates. Enough tables and stools to sit down to put on skates. There's also aluminum bleachers on one side for onlookers. But bleachers are cold on your okole so maybe sit on your sweater? A fun live deejay keeps the music going entire time with jokes and other information. Kids and adults enjoy a cordoned off area with "walkers" to hold onto and push yourself around a small area to get the hang of it. Venturing out to the open larger part of rink you can clutch onto rails as you walk around or practice your spins in the middle of rink. There are two staff skate patrollers to enforce rules for the safety of others and they are very good about it and kind. Things like not holding hands in large groups - only a couple are allowed - no holding phones in hands to take pictures while on ice, no carrying of children on the ice, no jumping or racing allowed. Toward end of morning session the deejay turned off majority of lights and disco ball lit up to make it fun! How the kids screamed with glee when this happened. Then they do a limbo contest and the kids line up trying their best to skate under a stick as it gets lower and lower. No prizes given just the fun of participating! Onto the concession. Very nice staff working this area. Standard food like nachos, saimin, pizza and bottled water, hot chocolate available. Not real pricey and it's good to take a break then back to the ice. I noticed many kids not wearing warm items- shorts and tshirts - but evidently all the skating around gets them hot so they don't feel the cold at all. Onlookers beware it's like 40 degrees inside so I dressed warmly. A Pro Shop is available for gloves, hats, skates and other paraphernalia. Lose one star due to employee who wasn't very nice when I bought gloves for granddaughter but didn't fit her so went back right away to exchange and she wouldn't let me. Tersely said "no returns!" It's not like we wore them all day then tried to return. Just wanted to exchange within a couple of minutes of buying for larger pair. That being said I didn't argue, just paid the $6 for another pair. Bathrooms were roomy and clean with padded floors so you could walk in with skates on. Oh and one last thing, if you leave the rink they won't let you come back in without paying. You'll have to buy another ticket. This is to prevent people from buying cheaper or other food outside then returning. They want to keep their concession open so it makes total business sense. Grandparents enjoy babysitting because kids are on ice entire time and you can just watch them with a nice cup of hot chocolate! When the deejay announces they are closing up, there's a mad dash to return skates but all you have to do is plop them down on the counter- no need sign anything or check out with staff. Easy peasy!

Not a super long wait at all. I do wish the parking stalls were a little wider. I get that we're in Hawaii and space is limited but geez man it's like getting packed like sardines in that parking structure. Anyway security checkpoint and main entrance was quick and thorough. Just showed the ticket and we were on our way. Food options inside weren't bad. Idk if the burger was good or if I was starving but it is what it is. The Pancit was good, but that banana lumpia that the lady put on top threw everything off lol. It wasn't even sweet. Had a few blue waves and whatever beer the wife got the second round. Pretty sure it was a green bottle. Either which was we sat in lodge 3 row A.... Definitely good seat. Tumua's show was pretty good also wasn't sure what to expect because I wasn't a huge fan. Kamalehua - The Sheltering Tree unfolded like a living memory, each note carrying emotion, each lyric rooted in something deeper than words. Inside the Blaisdell Concert Hall, I felt both present and carried-- drawn into a world shaped by voice, culture, and care. And yet, there was another kind of feeling-- a definite chill that settled in, unexpected, lingering in the balcony air where I sat. It pulled me slowly out of the moment, made distance where there had been connection. So I left at intermission-- not because the performance lacked beauty, but because my body could not stay where my heart wanted to be. Still, I carry what I witnessed: fragments of song, echoes of meaning, and the reminder that even a brief encounter with art can leave something lasting behind. NOTE: BUT, my personal experience was unfortunately cut short. I was seated in the balcony (Row H, the front row), and the AC was blowing cold!!! The temperature there was extremely cold--uncomfortable. I wasn't prepared for it, which made it difficult to stay focused and fully enjoy the performance. I ended up leaving during intermission, which was disappointing given how much I was enjoying the opera itself.

I'm going to preface this review by sharing that I'm not a huge fan of watercress. At least, I…read morewasn't. After visiting Sumida Farm and tasting different watercress dishes, I can see myself picking up some watercress from the grocery store. For so many years, I've passed the beautiful green area along Kamehameha Highway in front of Pearlridge and next to Starbucks and thought what a breath of fresh air, compared to everything else in the area along Kam Highway. I was very fortunate to be a part of an exclusive tour of Sumida Farm. They do not do this regularly and it is not open to the general public. We got to meet Mr. David Sumida, the 3rd generation owner of the family-owned business graced us with his presence and gave a brief history lesson about their farm. His parents moved from Japan and began growing watercress. Fast forward to today, many developers have offered millions of dollars for the land in hopes of developing it into something else. Bravo to the Sumida Family for standing their ground and hanging onto the precious, watercress-bearing land that has fed Hawaii for years. We got to walk along the watercress field and even dip our feet in the cool water. Being there was so serene, and being down in the field, I almost forgot that we were surrounded by Kam Highway and Pearlridge Center. We were treated to a special lunch by a chef who whipped up recipes that contained watercress and let me tell you, some of the dishes didn't even taste like it contained watercress even if it was one of the main ingredients. The lunch gave us many new ideas on how to incorporate watercress into our meals. I have a whole new appreciation for this vegetable and for the beautiful farm along Kam Highway.

Sumida Farm is not just good at their job, they're outstanding in their field...of watercress!…read more Today I had the pleasure of taking a tour on their watercress farm! Did you know that we used to have dozens of watercress farms on island? Now there's just 2 farms left on Oahu. I've learnt that it takes about 6-8 weeks, till the watercress grows back. They call it "seasonal crops" with longer summers, and less cool nights in the summer. You're looking at a 30-40% production from July-January (depending on the weather). With a dozen of pure springs where the water flows, is what watercress needs to survive, along with sun, and not too much humidity. Here, you'll also find lots of fish, crayfish, and birds in this environment. You'll also notice the sprinkler system, which is a pest deterrent system, pulling from the spring water (fully sustainable). It was a totally beautiful (and hot) day today! Thank you Sumida Farms for the warm hospitality!

My husband and I went to the Mayjah Rayjah 2013 Concert last night. We had a great time. Even…read morethough we are on the 'mature side' and didnt know any of the artists. I wanted to do something totally different for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. We sat on the over 21 side (the alcoholics side) as they were affectionately known throughout the night . We chose this side only because it had a better angle to the stage. We got there really early but didnt need to really. We were first in line at the express entrance because we bought a Groupon for the concert.. There is really no need to arrive early and line up for hours we discovered unless you really really want to sit right down the front on the cement step near the stage. There is more than ample room to put your blanket down and relax and watch the show and the stage can be seen from anywhere. We sat on the first path half way up the hill just near the sound desk and it was perfect. By the end of the night though we had a lot of people standing on the path behind us but that didnt happen until about 11.30pm. I am a watcher and I watched the ample ample amount of security guards, no one seemed to be misbehaving even on the 'alcoholics side' and everyone was having a great time dancing and singing. You cannot repeat CANNOT take in anything other than a blanket. I bought 2 stadium seat thingys with the padded seat and back attached from Walmart for $18, they were well worth it as we sat on the grass for 7 hours and hardly got a 'numb bum'...... Each bag is checked thoroughly, every zipper was open and searched. Large backpacks are not allowed in and what was allowed in were completely searched as well. The drinks were overpriced, water, sodas were $3 each but the food was reasonable. 2 Hawaiian plates, rice with salad and chicken or chili franks were $8 each so not too bad. We didnt have any alcohol so not sure of the price, but previous yelpers say it was expensive. They were selling the large cans of Bud Light and looks like mixed drinks as well. Overall it was a fantastic night. If you dont want the noisy revelers sit on the under 21 family side but if you want an alcoholic drink you cant go back over till its all gone!
