I was told that they legally have to sell me aftercare products even though I told them I already have products, yet per the mn.gov site regarding state body art laws including piercings, the following is all that is mentioned for aftercare and proves that claim untrue. "Subd.5. Aftercare. A technician shall provide each client with verbal and written instructions for the care of the tattooed or pierced site upon the completion of the procedure. The written instructions must advise the client of the difference between normal skin or tissue irritation and infection and to consult a health care professional upon indication of infection of the skin or tissue." Other than that issue and being charged separately for earring backs, the attendants were very friendly and helpful and my piercer Iris did a fantastic job. I worked for this company over a month, started job hunting after 3 weeks when I hadn't been paid yet and I asked my store manager what was going on to which her reply was "That's not my department". Anytime I would speak to the manager I was surprised if I got a response that wasn't rude. During training I was also told it was okay to lie to the customers, they say the gun they do ear piercing with is different than Claire's... it is not, still blunt force trauma to the ear lobe. They do not care about customers or employees what's so ever. I started as part time and my first week I was scheduled 39 hours (open to close 6 days) I was very excited for this job, that dream was crushed very quickly. The staff were very greeting and nice when I got my septum pierced. Only problem is my piercing is VERY crooked. When I called to inform them that the piercing was crooked they said that after a few days if it's still looking crooked I can go in and get it redone for free! If I could, I would give -0 stars because I didn't even get a chance to be pierced here. This isn't so much about the quality of the service, more of just a customer service type of review. I am no Karen by any means, I get things happen and am empathetic and reasonable- but this place was quite ridiculous. My friend and I came in for the BOGO deal today to get our Daiths pierced. We got there at 12:08PM (I remember the exact time, I wear a watch for that purpose). We finally are seen by the counter clerks at 12:28PM, we pick our jewelry, fill out the paperwork, agree to the payment and they give us a 2:00PM appointment, awesome. We can shop and kill time in the mall! We go run errands, bum around for awhile, and walk back into the shop at 1:55PM. We see the couple before us waiting to get their little one's ears pierced and the extremely nice people at the counter say "we have one appointment in front of you still waiting to get pierced, it'll be another 15-20 minutes" I respond "cool, we are just going to run into target quick and grab something" they say "okay! Sounds good" walking out of the shop, I look at my watch, it's 1:59PM. We go do a walk around target, kill even more time on a Saturday afternoon, (we are both mothers, spare time is hard to come by) we mosey back into the shop at EXACTLY 2:20PM! (maybe I'm in the wrong and we shouldn't have pushed it to the full 20 minutes, who knows. I thought I was being nice and giving that full 20, maybe that's me being narcissistic) The two at the counter don't say a word, they don't even look at us. The piercer comes out with the WORST attitude about the entire thing, they tells us we missed our appointment time. I'm confused? I tell them we were in there at 1:55PM (the piercer was in the other room and didn't see us come in at that time, it was just the two at the counter) and they told us 15-20 minutes so we walked out at 1:59PM and we are back now at 2:20PM? Is this over 1 minute or am I crazy? In the most rude way, and without saying I'm a liar, they says "no, you guys weren't here and it's 2:20 now, you guys missed it." I repeat myself, THEY TOLD US IT WOULD BE 15-20 MINUTES AT 2 OCLOCK AND ITS 2:20PM!! She turns us away. Without me blowing my top, we just leave. The two at the counter won't even look in our direction, now I'm sitting here writing an angry review like an idiot. I've heard nothing but bad things about this place, but their prices are good and their jewelry is decent. I'm irritated I waisted my afternoon for this rude piercer to not have good communication with their other workers. If you want a piercing go to a real piercing or tattoo shop. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to almost famous body piercing to get your ears pierced. What a colossal rip-off this place is! You pay for the front of the earring and you pay for the back. And you pay for "aftercare" (hydrogen peroxide and a small bag of salt.) They told me they had 14k gold earrings, until I was ready to actually get the piercings...then they said "well, they have a little nickel in them," so, I bought the titanium option. The stone turned blue and the metal turned black with their aftercare treatment. When I went in to complain, the clerk said. "We don't offer any kind of warranty." If you buy jewelry here and they put it in for you and you realize when you get home it's crooked and come in the NEXT day to correct it they tell you it's a 7 dollar service fee even though it was there error. Worst customer experience I have seen in such a long time no empathy and just stated it was for the tools they use. I when to get my navel pierced on the top and bottom. I usually go to tattoo shops to get my piercings but I decided to give almost famous a try. And I regret it. I have a few piercings already and in the past including, lip, nostril, septum, and nipple, and I have not experienced such a terrible job, the two piercings are not properly lined up, it has become red and inflamed around the holes, and the bottom one is so close to my skin you can almost see the bar underneath it. And I got it about a week ago. And like I said even got my nipples pierced and never even experienced such horrible healing. The girl that did my piercing seemed unexpiernced and short with telling me what she was doing. I think she messed up while putting in my jewellery on the bottom one. Highly recommend to not go here. It's the same price to go to a tattoo shop. Where they are way more experienced and professional. read more
