The school is awesome but whatever you do DO NOT use CHS housing. They will charge you all together…read moretwo times the worth of the apartment between you and three other students. You'd assume that a business that overcharged you that much would have reasonable accommodations and relaxed rules but you'd be wrong. I am writing because I saw the previous review posted…read more I graduated from NLC in in December of 2015. After a few weeks of searching I was able to find work in the power delivery field. I will admit that the job market is is rough in the winter months, but it only took me a little bit of time. NLC has been there for me every step of the way. From letting me continue to use their facility to practice prior to upcoming interviews, or the library to look at different companies standards of construction or to put in resumes. The previous review also mentions that the gear given doesn't fit because her son is over 6' tall, I personally am 6'3" tall and over weight, and my gear is great. I have needed the gear I purchased at skills assessments along the way, and further I'm glad that we didn't have to rent any gear as I wouldn't trust someone else to maintain the gear that I trust my life to. I also want to respond to the fact that the college requires physical task to be completed. It does, oh boy howdy does it. These task though, are the same tasks that I have experienced at any interview that I have participated in. It is a physically demanding trade, and as a graduate I am glad that they maintain high standards for people completing, as if they lowered those standards it would only serve to weaken the reputation of NLC. I can tell you that not every job in the power delivery field will require line school, but I also know that without it I wouldn't currently have a job in the trade. I am glad that I saw the previous review and was able to set the record straight as a former student and graduate. Thanks for all you have done for me NLC!

I went to the Carrington College Dental Hygene Clinic…read more I'm not sure that they really have consistent policies that they enforce, and it really wastes their patients time. I was first told it would take two to three visits. The first exam they said my blood pressure was high, but they passed me for treatment. The second time I came they said my blood pressure was too high for treatment. They where approximately the same blood pressure readings from separated by two days. Same blood pressure readings, two days apart. The only difference was the doctors making the decision That is not a fair or consistent policy. If one doctor approves you, then you should be approved for every visit. It's very unsafe for a patient to be cut off in the middle of treatment just because their coffee was a bit strong one day. First time I went they where making claims about my calculus levels without any avidenturary documentation. Nobody could explain to me the clinical definition between calculus level one, two or three. Nobody would take my opinions seriously, even though they where treating my mouth. I went to a dental teaching clinic in the first place because I thought that a teaching clinic would be making a greater effort in following a scientific and professional protocol. This clinic seemed to be making excuses , saying, "This is just a teaching clinic." As an excuse for why they don't need to be professional. I disagree, I think they need to strive to be the most professional and scientific clinic because they are a teaching clinic. For a teaching clinic to admit that they don't care about their reviews or level of professionalism seems like a very poor attitude to have.

This review is for the dental hygiene clinic, available to anyone needing dental care. Yes the pre…read morevisit paperwork is cumbersome (I think moving forward their new software system should make that smoother?)...& yes scheduling has been cumbersome... but I found the students & most importantly the supervising staff (dentists) to be very professional. I also appreciated that my X-rays & cleanings was very thorough. Although I've only been once, I look forward to future visits, knowing that my dental health will be in good hands. (I sought their care after being double billed by a local dentist, then having several horrifically painful & worse ineffective visits at another dental office.) So if you are between dentists, don't have adequate dental insurance, or just sick of unprofessional dental offices... perhaps consider helping the students here finish out their schooling.

I can't say enough GREAT things about Heather. If you have the means, a doula is 100% a necessity…read more She is equally as helpful to your support partner as well as mentally preparing us for the labor and delivery. My birth plan did not go as planned (as they always say happens). Heather was there to help us through these obstacles every step of the way. She doesn't push you to make any decisions, she educates you and informs you and prepares you to make the decisions that fit you best. I had complications post delivery and she comforted my husband and made the phone calls and held my baby during this emotional time while I was in the OR. She was so much more help than we could have even dreamed of. She is the full package. She even took our newborn photos when my daughter was two weeks old and we turned it into our Christmas card. We also took Heather's classes to prep us for L&D. She made us feel comfortable about everything. She even braided my hair when I was in labor, so sweet! We made her work over time! Poor Heather. She was with us for hours and hours for two days straight. She was very responsive and willing to do whatever we asked her to do. She was even helping coordinate keeping my placenta and the logistics of that. I even texted her the other day to ask about recommendations for my baby and she answered right away. She's just the best of the best.

I am genuinely heartbroken that I have to write a review like this, but families deserve to know…read moreour experience. We were excited about The Ambrose School. During our tour, they expressed how much they loved our child, how well she would fit, and even told us there was an open spot. All we needed to do was complete the application. We did exactly that. The application asked detailed questions about our specific Christian faith and the church we attend. Within a week of submitting it, we received a cold, impersonal email informing us that our application was being terminated and our fee refunded. No explanation. No conversation. No willingness to clarify anything. Just a closed door. When I reached out and respectfully asked for the reason behind their sudden reversal, we received complete silence. Not even the courtesy of a reply. Based on the timing and the nature of the questions they focused on, it is hard to see this as anything other than religious discrimination. What makes this even more painful is that our child previously attended a nearly identical "Classical Christian" school in another state--with the same curriculum, same values, same books, same structure--and thrived as a straight-A student. She was everything they say they want in a student. Explaining to her why Ambrose had suddenly changed their mind was absolutely heartbreaking. Their academics appear strong, and I am sure many students receive an excellent education. But our experience revealed something far more concerning: a lack of transparency, compassion, and Christlike behavior. The way we were treated was dismissive, exclusionary, and completely out of line with the values they claim to uphold. Families deserve honesty and respect. Sadly, we experienced neither.

We've been attending for 2 years and love it! Definitely a school that desires parent involvement…read morewhich works great for our family!
