Very tasty duck starter, perfectly cooked snitzel and honey mustard chicken burger, finished off…read morewith cinnamon donuts and a sticky toffee pudding. Excellent venue to celebrate your next birthday with a pancake stack and staff birthday wishes. Friendly ambience tastefully decorated.

I visited Bill's at Westfield London before getting a train home. I was able to get a table easily,…read morewhich I was grateful for, as many restaurants inside the mall either had no availability for a large queue, and I was short on time, as I planned to get a train home to Manchester shortly after my visit here. It is located in the outdoor part of the mall, on the corner, the vibes inside the restaurant are pretty cool, especially for a mall location. My table looked a little beaten and worse for wear, though it looked like it had been banged and potentially damaged by a candle. I was disappointed with the service here, as I encountered issues with multiple staff members. After being seated, my waitress seemed distracted and wasn't listening. She initially tried to take me to a larger party's table, and I had to explain that I had booked a table for one. Another staff member overheard our conversation and brought me the gluten-free menu as she didn't. I then had an issue with a different female staff member who ignored me completely while setting cutlery on another table, leaving mine without any. I had to take cutlery from another table, and she again seemed frustrated when she had to set this table again after noticing what I had done. Finally, when I asked a male staff member to remove the service charge, he initially claimed he couldn't do it. He made out that it would be such a rigmarole to remove it as he'd have to do it manually and couldn't remove it when using the payment app- he made it unnecessarily awkward and then began questioning why I'd remove it in the first place. I ordered the fish pie, which was made gluten-free, the cheese and chive mash on top was fantastic; it was really tasty, and I also liked the sauce of the pie however, the fish, especially the salmon and the cod, wasn't pleasant, it was chewy. If you're ordering a fish pie, the key part of the meal is the fish - and if they can't get that right, that's a big issue. My side of rosemary salted fries was fine, but they were average fries. They didn't taste fresh, and the difference between the rosemary salted fries here and at Honest Burger, where they are far superior, is night and day. They offered me a voucher for a future visit to Bill's, which I plan to use soon. I intend to update my rating after my next visit, hoping this was just a one-off incident or an off day rather than a recurring issue. 2*

Patchy service can't dampen my enthusiasm for this top place…read more The manageress is a surly, miserable git who barks orders at her rushed but sweet staff and can't be bothered to raise a smile herself. She either had a raging hangover or she just hates her job. We went for brunch on fathers' day and I ordered a full English. It was delicious but after I quaffed the lot I spied someone else's full english with a big fat juicy sausage on it. I had been deprived. Miss Surly took £2 off the bill but promptly added five more on the machine. Luckily we checked the tab. Surly Bollocks mumbled some sort of excuse and corrected it. An apology would have been a sign of weakness or defeat. What else? Butter for my toast came only after I asked three times. And my second pot of tea came without a lid. They simply didn't have any more! Frankly I can live with all that for an excellent full English . Even without the sausage I enjoyed it immensely - good black pudding is always a sign of real quality. And the milkshakes are A1. Served in dinky little milk bottles and tasting delicious and malty. All served in a place that doesn't seem to be trying to be cool at all, and is therefore achingly thus. The back room opens out nicely. It's relaxed and charmingly kitted out with sweet arty bits denoting the local area and its the venue's music hall history. Ask for a booth, they are comfy and spacious. Just don't ask the grumpy one. She'll hurrump and react like you asked for your shake to be served in the Holy Grail.

Could nt agree more with the previous review. Dishes are varied, with clever choice of ingredients…read more I would come back, curious to tried the other offers on the menu. And the restaurant have some good offers on some week days...
