I initially booked an appt with the endodontist that he recommended, but after looking on Yelp, I decided to cancel. Based on the 5 star reviews on Yelp, I made an appt at Arlington Endodontics. They have incredible equipment that takes very detailed images that show much more than what my dentist could see on an x ray. After examining the scans and images and doing some diagnostic tests, Dr. Eslinger told me that there's a good chance that my tooth is beyond needing a root canal. He gave me the option to continue or have it extracted elsewhere. Talk about honesty and integrity!! I think most dentists would have just done it and taken my money with no regard for the final outcome. Additionally, the staff was so kind and friendly. If I ever do need a root canal, I know where I am going.

Referred here 2x... wow such a sad lame place that gets referrals from too many dentists in the…read morearea. Starting to believe that any dental practice that sends someone here... really doesn't care about their patients OR gets a kickback. Atmosphere is less IKEA than I remember and they don't have the same roster of endontists they used to... got informed by the owner that those are all 1099s ... yeah private contractors that don't seem to want to work here OR quit... but their names are up in the website like they do... and Cigna has an even larger out-of-date list as well... so that's very reassuring. Last time I came here I didnt remember having to wait 90min to have a 10min consultation (Patrick OHara) and have a $295 prepaid scan pushed on me when I had already verified all the expected procedures to be covered at 100% by Cigna prior to this consultation. Not sure why it has decent reviews because the front desk didn't even inform me Dr Wong (who said he works 12h a day at 4x locations) was running over 90m behind when I arrived... to which I would have said we can reschedule. I'll give 30m grace but if you charge people for missed appointments or cancels... what is this? Hire more people or dont overbook. Don't try and get cash before submitting to insurance or doing pre-estimates and verification until the day of... because some patients do that ahead of time.

He did the pain free root canal in 90 minutes. He even made a follow up call to me the next day, Sunday, to check in. I'm highly recommending him. I read some other reviews commenting on his chair-side manor with staff and patients. Yes, he is particular with staff but I feel that's because he's high-functioning and knows exactly what he's wants at that moment. He was very respectful to me (both times) and explained every single step in great detail. As a patient, I think that's a good thing. His practice and service are great. For example, I called them 6 days after this procedure and asked to switch my payment from the credit card I gave them to my HSA card. No problem there either. Going further, he did a root canal on me back in 2013 and that one has been fine ever since. And finally, the charged amount was perfectly fair. I will definitely go back if I ever need another root canal...just hoping that never happens again!

I then had to have a completely new crown put on due to this. This was VERY costly and disappointing that Dr. Ameri did not have the expertise to find all of the roots when I had my original root canal. I would not recommend unless you want to be paying a lot of $$ in a couple years to have the process completely redone.

She makes it painless before, during, and after. I could hardly feel the needle - at one point I even wondered if she was giving my gums any shots because I couldn't feel it. I felt no pain when I got home, nor later that day or the next day. A lot of people are afraid of root canals for good reason - my brother's surgery (done by a different endodontist) hurt like hell. So it's important to pick the right endodontist, and I strongly recommend Dr. F. Ameri.

Dr Atassi made my procedure as easy and painless as possible, even though I did my best to throw as many curveballs as possible at him... between a tooth that was so ...?calcified? (I don't speak Endodontist, but those roots were HIDING!!) and a panic attack due to PTSD from excessive dental work done 20 years ago by a completely different practice and doctor that left me permanently disabled with nerve damage to one side of my face, to the muscles in my mouth just giving up halfway through and being unable to hold my mouth open anymore ..... Dr Atassi took it all in stride and wouldn't let me beat myself up about it. He made it sound like every patient presents as much of a challenge as I did. Which I know isn't true and that's why, while I honestly hope with all my heart and mouth that I never have to see him again, if I do ever need another root canal, he'll be my guy. Can't recommend Dr Atassi highly enough! Also really appreciate the front desk for making sure I knew in advance that GPS for the Mt Prospect location can be tricky, as that street address exists in both Mt Prospect and Arlington Heights! So, in our race(?), the wife and I are now tied with two apiece from Dr. Fournier, woot woot. And between us, we've just had two root canals in a two week period. So, thank you once again Dr. Fournier, and also a thank you to her long time dental assistant Lucia, and her front desk staffer Jenny who screened my situation by phone and got me in quickly.
