I can also attest that using my debit card in foreign countries was painless, with no outrageous conversion fees. Another positive, for me, is the Thursday and Friday hours - they're open later, but do close earlier during the rest of the week. All in all they've been good enough that I haven't looked at joining another bank or credit union.

I have been banking at this branch for over 25 years. I have had several personal and business…read morechecking and savings accounts. As well as several car loans and commercial real estate loans. The people that I've worked with have known me by name when I walk in the door. However, since the merger has taken place, I haven't seen as much incompetency in a business anywhere else in my life. I tried to make a simple transaction of a loan payment after mistakingly paying a few bills after writing a check that I had forgotten about. My reserve line had covered this, and I merely went in to make the loan payment from my savings account. From that point, it took me almost a week to get this transaction resolved. I had gotten errors through the online app, so called the branch to have the payment made for me, and was met with so much confusion and incompetency for such a simple transaction.. by the end of the call, I was very frustrated, but assured that the loan payment was made and I would incur zero interest. However, upon checking a couple days later, I witnessed that the payment had not been made, and in fact a transfer had been put into my checking account. When I called back, I was again met with much confusion and the banker even attempted to try to close my overdraft protection account all together and leave me unprotected. Why on earth? Would anybody suggest this? I may need to take my banking somewhere else as I am now fearful for the safety of my accounts at this bank.

Our company needed to set up direct deposit for payroll, and the process had been delayed for several weeks so I thought I'd check with the bank and see if they had a similar service, and they do! They were able to get us up and running that week, and I have had absolutely no trouble using the system. I've never received better service from a bank - super impressed and incredibly grateful! It's unusual to have an actual person answer the phone when you call anywhere anymore, but that's what I get every time with NFB.

She escorted me to her office for a private conversation. I appreciated that as I do not feel comfortable asking questions and discussing financial decisions at a Teller window! In fact, when I arrived there I was not sure that I would indeed open a new account as this was an unfamiliar Bank to me. Until I met Jen F. She was absolutely professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and actually "Kind"!!! Since this was my FIRST visit there, I spent over an hour with her and NEVER felt rushed. I was reassured that my new account was FDIC insured. The origin of the Bank was even explained to me. ALL of my questions were answered and any concerns I had initiating an account with a bank new to me were addressed. I am now a NEW customer of M1 Bank and very satisfied with my decision to open a new account there. By the way, since the building used to be a chocolate shop, they offer you chocolate candy and a complimentary cup of coffee or water! Very pleasant atmosphere. When I completed my business there, I left feeling like Jen and M1 Bank were no longer strangers!!!

I was told that I needed to bring in a social security card for each of them instead of a driver's license. I have no problem with that, but it was the dull and unfriendly demeanor of the teller and desk staff that was disappointing. Very unmotivated. As we walked out the door, my daughter said to me, "Wow! Not toooo friendly there. I wouldn't want an account there." My son agreed. Imagine how they are with people who already have an account established. This is why I have banked with Discover for over 10 years. We went down the road to Regions to experience better service.
