Worst company I have ever dealt with. Large storm hit Vermillion in August. I have a tree in my backyard. During the storm a limb broke off the tree and landed on my roof making a hole in my roof resulting in extensive water damage to my bedroom ceiling. Allstate is refusing to pay the damages. They said the whole in the roof had been there for years. Everyone I speak to have said if I had a whole in my roof for 4 years I would not have a house .They sent me a picture of the whole in the roof that they said a DRONE took 4 years ago . If that would be true why wouldn't they have contacted me to have the whole fixed. I heard it is the talk of the neighborhood and a Women's function I attended. The Vermilion office now has a different agent. After multiple attempts to contact this agent, I finally get a callback and a promise from him to follow-up on an issue. A month later, still no follow-up. Needless to say, I have canceled my auto and home policies after being with Allstate for 36 years. Lousy service trumps consumer loyalty. read more

This agency, especially Amy has provided me with very poor service. They sent out promotional advertisements claiming very low prices. In reality these prices are unobtainable. I feel they are doing bait and switch. The communication and follow up was poor and not very helpful. I would not recommend this agency to anyone. read more

Trying to call the office to get a quick question answered. Waiting for over 10 minutes. No offer to leave a voicemail and receive a callback. Just kept cycling through an Allstate advertisement and ringing (the ringing made me think that someone was about to pick up the phone. How silly of me.) read more

I have been a customer of Allstate through this agent for the last 20 years (to be fair, she took over for a retiring agent around 8-10 years ago). I had 2 homes and 3 cars insured with them and never had one claim or driving violation. I recently decided to get new quotes from other companies and was flabbergasted at the difference in cost. I called Tonia Maxwell to give them a chance to match the new quotes because I didn't really want to move all of my insurance to another company after all these years and they really weren't even interested in talking about it. So I have moved everything to State Farm in Vermilion. After I moved everything, then the agent from Tonia Maxwell wanted to talk about it. Terrible service. My car insurance went from almost $1000 every six months to $500. My primary residence went from $1100/year to $750/year and my vacation home was pretty close to the same price. That is absolutely terrible business practice to treat long time customers like that. Also, I'm not promoting State Farm as several insurance companies were way lower in cost than Maxwell. read more
